  1. I think this is a difficult thing to pin down. It all depends on the size and thickness of the meat and veg. As ChrisP posted this is a trial and error situation. However, I would think that any meat will take longer to cook than veg, unless it is cut into thin strips, or goujons. Veg wrapped in foil cook quicker because they are steamed. I personally enjoy cooking, and experimentation is part of that for me. I wish you luck in your gastronomic endeavours.
  2. Correct, that is for asylum support, however, if they are accepted as a refugee that jumps considerably, by the governments own figures that can be as much as 22,000 pounds a year around the London area. a considerable hike from the 6500 pounds a fully paid up pensioner gets. While I agree that there may be some legitimate claimants of persecution etc. the vast majority are economic migrants, neither poor or in danger. I find it disgusting that these people are treated better than our own ex servicemen and women.
  3. Regardless of who is right or wrong that woman has a voice that would curdle fresh milk. May I suggest she could get a job as the Tsunami warning siren.
  4. Proton, you missed a zero out, it is closer to 400 quid a week. This is the same government that said my parents could live on 160 pounds a week pension after working all their lives, and fighting a war to keep U.K. free....
  5. You are correct Sir, I missed the 14 in the headline. However, in my defence it was early morning...........
  6. Sorry, but that is incorrect. minimum age for a motorbike licence here is 15, and that is limited to 110cc until 18 years old.
  7. Purely from a personnal perspective I would have the walls skimmed, after removing the crayon.
  8. Agree with you 100%. The "system" I refer to is the one operated by both the Ministry of Transport. the R.T.P. and to a certain extent the schools that should be educating children instead of indoctrinating them.
  9. I was led to believe, maybe wrongly, that when he took his second term he resigned from the army. If so why is he still referred to as General.
  10. Therein lies the problem here, absolutely no mention of the fact she was underage, no licence, possibly no helmet(Not stated in the article). R.I.P. to another young lady let down by the system.
  11. I too tried that but they found me out. Turns out I could not lick my own a***...............................a dead giveaway...............
  12. When I read this I was reminded of Saudi Arabia. Around the corner from the testing stations, called M.V.P.I. Motor Vehicle Periodic Inspection, There are dozens of small garages. The Saudis drive their cars there, have new tyres, wiper blades, lights, etc, etc fitted. They take the car through the test, then return to the garage, refit all the old rubbish, pay a small rental charge, and drive off. My car failed once because the lacquer on the bonnet had faded with the sun and so the paint was no longer shiny !!!
  13. That is easy, they asked T.A.T.
  14. I always do that now after an experience several years ago. Bought a brand new 4 kg gas bottle for the Wife to cook on outside ( frying chillis!!). When it ran out the Father in Law was visiting, and he took it to the shop for a refill. He came back with the oldest, mankiest, rusty bottle you have ever seen. When I asked the Wife were my new bottle was she said "oh, that is ok, they always give you a replacement to save you waiting for it to be filled. Needless to say, without repeating the swear words on here, I went to the shop with her, and got my new bottle back. The look on the guy's face was a picture to behold.
  15. Obviously conducted by the same people who found no signs of prostitution in Pattaya............
  16. The outcome of which will be published on 32nd. of Septober 2024..ish. As for unusual, I seriously doubt it.
  17. Of the seven or eight medals he is wearing I can only identify five......... Knots Origami Fire lighting 100 yards breast stroke cycling proficiency test Can anyone identify the remainder...................
  18. When I read the bit about 50% useless I thought they were talking about the Government in Bangkok.
  19. These must be in Thailand already according to the video................At 13 seconds in she clearly states that you can, quote...."sit back and relax, have a snack, and take a nap"...........is that not what happens with drivers on these roads every day...............
  20. +1................Could not agree more. Come on Aseannow, you helped start this, please be proactive. Can you not set up an account, or find a way to monitor the existing. I for one would continue to help if I felt sure the money was going to the young lady.
  21. Oops.............................From Pallet store to charcoal shop in one day.
  22. May I please share your indulgence for a minute or two to read about an experience regarding an HIV positive child. Nineteen years ago, I came to my Wife's village a few months before we were married. She brought with her from Phuket a DVD player with The Terminator DVD. We set it up in her parents front room, and all the kids came to watch. I bought the usual healthy snack foods of crisps, and coke....I sat just by the door with a Chang, purely medicinal. I noticed a very small boy trying to get a look at the movie, he was about five, and covered in sores on his arms and legs. I picked him up, sat him on my knee, so he could see, and gave him some coke. Everybody looked shocked. My Wife told me later that he was an orphan who was HIV positive, both parents were drug addicts and had died. To cut a long story short I began to pay for his medicines, and school requirements, about 2,000 a month in total. Eventually the hospital found out, and he got the medicines for free. but I continued to pay for his education and clothing etc. He is now a well built good looking young man with a great wife. He is at present helping to build our shop in the village. When we came back to live permanently in the village several months ago, he came into the garden, walked up and gave me a big hug, something that is not often seen here. I admit I sat and cried, don't ask me why, but my Wife said he will never forget I gave him his life. Sometimes the smallest thing can make a huge difference, and we need to put our skepticism aside and do what we feel is right. I will therefore be donating to help this young lady, the amount is not important. I will also be checking to see if there is going to be a site where we can follow her progress, and maybe to donate a small amount each month. Kudos to all who have helped both now, and in the future, and let us hope that in the future the Government picks up the baton to help underprivileged and sick people more.
  23. Yep, I have done it three times now. Each time I get an e mail from immigration about two weeks before is due.
  24. Wiggy, just had mine renewed. Like you I picked the car up new in August 2016. Got the number plate in October 2016. My insurance company just renewed the tax last week to run from 13th. October until next year. Therefore I am assuming the 7 years starts in October 2023. Hope this helps.
