  1. Of course they refuse, because they are not about "reform".

The dictionary states "reform" as : the improvement or amendment of what is wrong, corrupt, unsatisfactory...

Did you ever look at what they want. Take a look at parliament. The PTP have put nothing there in favor of reform. They have an agenda and are not interested in any other opinion.

This is Thailand and face is what it is all about. The PTP is just putting on a face for the uneducated people.

    ...and...

What were the brilliant reform- moves of the PAD again....?!

  2. I am perfectly happy to send my two daughters to school wearing their rather frumpy school uniforms.

I don't want them to wear outfits which accentuate their female charms and turn them into eye candy.

The reasons are fairly obvious, even if the students at Tammasat University are unable to see them.

Children are at school to study, not have sex. Anything which distracts from learning and encourages undesirable behavior should be discouraged – including provocative clothes.

Thailand is already paying an unacceptable price for sex at school.

In 2009, the number of students who got pregnant in a single year passed the 10,000 mark for the first time.

Even though the overall birthrate has been dropping, teen births are rising. Fifty-four out of every 1,000 babies born in Thailand have mothers aged 15-19. That's more than in the United States and ten times higher than in Singapore.

School uniforms, short haircuts and any other sensible measures to take sex out of the classroom and prevent young lives being ruined by unwanted pregnancy get my vote.

    Pfffffffffffffft!

Nothing -hear me? Nothing!- has ever prevented young people from having sex and - and I almost do not believe I am saying this- not only in Thailand!

And the many pregnancies result from an education- system that totally fails to educate children and students about sex at all!

Short hair will not prevent sex as long as there are boob....ahm...other physical...ahm...things!

  3. We just took our money (and it was a considerable amount) to a nearby club, that had no problem with a Laow Kaow- shirt...

"...and it was a considerable amount..."

Obviously they were less impressed with you than you were.

Yep...seems the economy is going well for them!

  4. So...we had a company- party last Friday and after getting seriously hammered with free booze (and seriously confused, with all our Thai- colleagues having fun with...games..I guess....), we (4 farang guys) decided to head on, into town.

I am not mentioning the name of the club, but it was one on the upper LEVELS of Sukhumvit 11.

Honestly, I had no clue about that place, but we were all clean looking, good smelling and ready for adventure, when we arrived there.

3 guys got in without any problems- including me and I was just wearint t-shirt, jeans and sneakers.

One of my friends was stopped and not allowed in.

Since he wore t-shirt, jeans and "normal" shoes, we couldn't really figure out, why he was not allowed.

    So we asked.

The problem was that he wore a "logo"- shirt of a beverage company, that was not part of the clubs- beverage contract partners.

    ...

Fair enough, you might think...if you don't know, that his shirt featured the logo of LAOW KAOW!

    So...seriously, guys?!

The famous Laow Kaow- brand, responsible for blindness and braindeath all over the country, is the real competition for the stuff you sell at 250 Baht a glass, I assume?!

I assume, because we did not make any more efforts to get in.

We just took our money (and it was a considerable amount) to a nearby club, that had no problem with a Laow Kaow- shirt...

  5. I am sooooo happy for all of you, who are married to Superwoman or a black belt- karate girl and all that...really great and awesome!

But guess what: not all women are 200 pound bear- wrestlers.

And guess what else: those small...or let's say:normal... women are what protective laws are for!

And wanna hear something really crazy: police is there to enforce those laws!

Yeeeeeees...the same police, you daily moan about, being lazy and corrupt...when you are not moaning about, how Thailand is turning into a nanny state!

    Spare me, <deleted>!

  6. Didn't Shakespeare say 'much ado about nothing'...

Sexual harrasment is a western concept. This is a country where less than a century ago, a blouse was a rich womans clothing and topless was the norm. Even today, there are villages where the women wear no shirt and no underwear and think nothing of someone watching.

Primates behave the same worldwide, whether human or ape, yet people try to change that which has always been 'Human'...

I did not say it was intelligent, but we have two sides to our character.

I am reminded of a woman I was romancing in private, who was saying NO,! NO,!, as she unbuttoned her blouse.

...and just a short while ago, we were burning witches!

    What is your point?
