  1. *little off-topic*

"Moo 10 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province"

I thought this was an address in east-pattaya (nongprue).

Still haven't figured it out how the addressing system works here, or is there no system?

My "Moo" is 10 too and I'm way down towards the end of NPW on the Darkside. I guess it's a very big moo.

I'm near Klang and it is Nongprue.

  2. I just came back from four days in Siem Reap. Get a hotel in the centre of town. There a several to choose from. A real nice one is Royal Crown Hotel and Spa where I stayed. Or if you prefer a cheaper but still clean and close to everything - Mekong Boutique Hotel.

Do not make a booking with Legacy Air. I did that mistake because I liked the convenience of going to Utapao as I live in Bang Saray. But the only thing Legacy Air does is to book you on a flight on Angkor Air and you have to go to Bangkok anyway! Legacy Air promised to pay for the taxi fees, but they did not!! If you want to fly with Angkor Air, better book with them directly and save some money.

I just called Lagacy, they said they fly out of Utapao. I think every other day. 0920 087 508

  3. This is not a Thai thing - it happens in virtually every city on the planet.

It does get worse. Go to any city in the US or Europe, and you will find restaurant owners who place tables and chairs right on the footpath, and if that is not enough, then they remove the traffic cones they have placed in the street to block parkers and put more tables and chairs there.

No, I'm from Baltimore and I've never seen that. Locals do block parking spots when there is a ballgame because visitors take their spots. But not shops.

  4. u spent 4 nights in a casino gambling??

pray tell , did you come out ahead?

Thats more than i have spent in 30 years here :-)

It's my entertainment. If you gamble to win money, forget it. I was not in casino every night all night. It's a pleasant place to stop on the way back to Thailand. I had fun with teh Thais and teh dealers.

  5. That would be a good idea, but I was just on the casino strip for 4 nights and saw only one white face in the casinos. You can get a public bus to Pattaya from the border but I don't know where you get one from here. I took a bus from the border to Bangkok, 5 hours 230 baht, big bus with toilet. No TV or karaoke. I stayed at the Grand Diamond, 1000 baht and 500 back in promo chips. I had a great time except for the smoking inside. THe Diamond has a nice restaurant, Chillax, and next month Star Vegas is supposed to have their swimming pool finished. I'm definitely going back.

  6. You have to wonder whether this was the reason for the unnecessary widening of Beach Rd.

I haven't seen it this year, it is so busy this time of year I see no pleasure in going into town.

Trouble is I know the Mrs will want to see the NYE fireworks.

You should have got a few pictures OP.

i will do so today and post later

  7. So you expect to pay less than you should because you don't have the right change?

rounded up or down to the nearest baht usually the point im trying to make is no give and take only take

If the cashier is short on takings she has to make it up out of her own money. Why should she pay part of your internet bill for you? coffee1.gif

were talking about 0.15 stang here impossible to make up that amount up as the lowest denomination is 0.25

If multiple people do it, it will add up. It means more to her than to you so pay it, and stop posting crap on here.
