  1. What a fantastic thread - properly laughing here.... BazilCock... Soi41Dickehad.... and then..... "hey, will everyone please stop calling me a "<deleted>"... all i am doing is trying to park my car....."

I am sort of curious why you see it as easier to get the minivan though? I mean if you simply "like" the van than fair enough but mate do you not find them a bit packed and uncomfortable? I always struggle with them to be honest.

Why dont you just buy a sat nav for driving into Bangkok? You can pick them up for a few grand now and you will have no issues getting lost. I always drive into BKK and get there a little quicker than the minivans, and you can go at your own pace, have a laugh with the mrs in the car, stop for a smoke/coffee or whatever. You will be a few hundred baht down at the end of the day but a much better idea, in my opinion.

Just my opinion though. If you just like the bus, nothing wrong with that.

What about parking at the fishing pier? Or maybe the collonade shopping mall? 24 hour security, no one there gives a flying bugger and the place never gets busy enough that it is even half full.

to tell the truth longshooter, i find driving in thailand a little stressful sometimes....... our lass aint the best passenger, i aint the best driver, our car aint the best car, my music aint the best music....... it's hot, it's bumpy, the road signs look pretty, but dont make much sense etc etc

i have driven all over thailand, and infact hold the hua hin record for driving to kalasin in 9hrs whilst having a mother-in-law in the car....... but sometimes i just cant be bothered........ better to leave it to the professionals i think smile.png

PS as a matter of interest, which BTS station is the easiest to get to, and get parked, for when we do take the car???

PPS cheers for not calling me a "<deleted>"

BTS - no idea, to be honest. When I drive to BKK my final destination is nearly always a hotel car park or the airport so parking is never an issue. I dont think I would ever drive to BKK and park near a BTS. I just wouldnt take that on. It would be too much hard work blindly trying to find somewhere to park close to it.

what area do you head for then mate?? you are coming from the hua hin area i presume...... up highway 4, across on highway 35 / rama II..... then where would you head after that?

we used to live in On Nut, so have parked in a hotel car park on Suk soi 64 a few times, but that is over in the east, and as we are coming from the west side of bangkok, it is a bit of an unnecessary trek....

do you know of any more convenient areas to park, if heading from hua hin / cha am, that are easy to get to, and allow easy access to central bangkok? wai.gif

  2. Hey Plaachon.... i am in hua hin so a bit far from either of your residencies i think...... my mrs is from kalasin tho and we get up there quite often

can you recommend any places to go fishing up that way? i am a coarse fisherman back home, and am quite happy fishing for anything really

    any pointers buddy?

  3. Bet not one of you will use the service if or when it starts, you'll take the bus, tight ass Ex Pats in Hua Hin. Talk the Talk or Walk the Walk, talkers, dreamer's.

are you talking to everyone that reads this site mate, or just the people who have replied? seems like quite a broad statement you are making with such harsh tones.....

you having a bad day fella? maybe a few nice dreams and a talk will help..... fingers crossed for ya mate

  4. water pump welded back together (400B) and motorcycle licence in my wallet alongside my car licence (165B)

now we just need to fix this leaky roof which the builder has already attempted 6 times, but today's rain has given us a soaking :o(

  5. So not only were you upsetting the local business's by parling ILEGALLY you were driving ILEGALLY also. Fine upstanding citizen, what an example to the Thai's.

Also you anoouced that have driven all over Thailand (Bollo@#s), you mean you have been driving ILEGALLY all over Thailand, Why? UKJASE has just anounced that he has just passed his driving test.

Another Foreigner that should not be here.

    Working ilegally also I bet.

calm down mate......... i was talking about my motorcycle licence....... i have my car licence already....

  6. cheers for all the helpful replies guys.....

i went back to the test centre early today, and got myself in for the test....... again the same as yesterday when some questions were obviously both right etc......., but luckily with the english test i think they only have about 50 or so questions, that come up randomly, so the ones that have two correct answers, many i had had yesterday, and had memorised the answers..... so today i passed!! i got 26/30 and the lady told me 23/30 was the pass mark, and i had done "velly good"..... buzzing today chaps!! the mrs even peeled a som-o for me for celebrations!!

this question made the whole resitting worth it tho

Q-What should you do if you are driving and you start to feel very tired?

1-Stop, and take a rest until you no longer feel tired

    2-Drink a coffee

3-Keep driving until the tiredness passes

    4-Take an amphetamine pill thumbsup.gif

there was two other farang guys there today, and both had failed one sitting whilst i was there......

i think one good thing to do, is if you fail, take a note of the answers on a piece of paper for all the ones you got wrong, and use this next time..... not sure if this is within the rules, but then again not sure if they have rules

anyway 165B and i am one legal mo fo wink.png

    cheers again for replies wai.gif

  7. for 3 days?? and with your permission BC?? happy days.... almost makes it worth all the abuse giggle.gif

UKJASE - have you posted on the correct thread?

Who's BC? And where is there any prior mention of 3 days?

sorry easy, i was cross-threading there..... BC aka bazilthefox aka mr happy..... the "3 days" was reference to basil's reference to car parking..... (i think i need to lower the dosage of caffeine from now on)

  8. BazilFox, evidently you haven't been inside the store. It's no 7/11 or Lotus Express. It's a supermarket with pretty much everything the other Hua Hin supermarkets have as far as food and normal household products go (except Villa Market of course).

Instead of constantly making negative comments about it, why don't you go walk around in it and compare it with the Lotus Express downtown and you will see the difference.

Sorry this thread disturbs you so much but I think the main purpose of local expat forums here is to let others know of anything that will make their life better or easier or more convenient, which this store does for anyone living in the south end of town or Takiab.

You seem to be bothered by nearly every thread on the board. Why not just stop reading and take some stress out of your life?

HH - why don't you and others go to Villa Market? There are absolutely no parking problems and the produce sold there is far fresher than Macro, let alone any Tesco Lotus outlet anywhere In HH. OK - it may be a few shekels dearer on some items (but not all - some items are even cheaper than Macro) but it seems to be a mind set many farangs have that they will not shop there because they feel they are being ripped off in some way! Can't understand the cheapskate mentality!

the last time i was in there, the fist thing i saw was mangos for 120B a kilo!! now, unless these mangos were picked by topless virgins wearing velvet gloves, they did seem a tad expensive......

UKJASE - you are a sarcastic being!

Depends on time of year, whether local or imported, variety etc.

I've seen mangoes in Macro dearer than that.

    Jut don't buy them ....

As they say here .... "up to you!".

i wasnt being sarcastic Easyas...... the mangos were 120B a kilo........ i thought that was very expensive......

admittedly, as with any upper end supermarket, the fruit and veg dept are often well over-priced, and are there for convenience for people who dont have as much time on their hands to shop around..... the store does have a good selection of hard to find products

  9. @UKJASE. Asking for parkingadvice, resulting in you being called a <deleted>. Waperpump leaking. Driverstest failed. If this is karma catching up with you, you must have been a very bad boy ??

i was hoping leaving england would leave all that karma stuff behind....... looks like karma flies emirates too sad.png

  10. Will the guy be able to park at your house, parking seems to be an issue, do you have white lines for a parking space? Perhaps its better he uses that cheap Tuk Tuk you use. He can park his vehicle anywhere that has white lines for free and use the Tuk Tuk. clap2.gifcheesy.gifclap2.gif

you seem to know me better than my wife bazilbell...... i hope you are as attentive to your loved ones

  11. Strange that this store is the only one being mention on opening, their are many 7/11 and Tesco Ltus Express that have been opened in and around Hua Hin which have not been mentioned, why?

Because its no big deal, unless you have no life like the 2 or 3 losers that have highlited the importance of this store to their obviously boring existance.biggrin.pngclap2.gifbiggrin.png

Agree with you entirely, quality for foodstuff we are used to and UKJASE can park for FREE.

  14. just for the record........ i wasnt lying...... although bazilbellend made a massive thing of it, and jumped around like a girl who had just found a maggot in her pants....

when baz wrote something really annoying before, i got a little wound up, and misunderstood him somewhat when he said I was a <deleted> for leaving my car outside of someones business for 3 days".... i thought he was talking about the time i got ticketed, or the time i got towed away......

but he wasnt, he was picking up on details earlier in the thread about me parking on esso's forecourt.....

big hearted baz felt very sorry for mr esso, and said i was a "<deleted>" etc.... in fact he went into a bit of a rage (typical rageyBaz really)....

(the fact is, i hadnt parked "outside someone's business" for 3 days as BazBellEnd had said, i had infact parked within the business for 3 days...... the forecourt is within the boundaries of the business is it not......

but i wasnt trying to be so clever, i genuinly thought he was on about another time....... i guess i shouldnt get wound up by BC so much, (but he does have this amazing ability as coming across as a person who you would really love to park upon, given half a chance)

anyway i wasnt lying honest wai.gif

(except the for the bit above about BC having a "big heart")

  15. What should postee's like Soi41dickhead do with their pathetic live's? its bad enough he has to spend time drinking outside Tesco Lotus Express to save money with whoever will sit with this narrow minded plonker. Tell me what is constructive about this post, what a hypocrit.

Bet Soi 41 would go balistic if someone parked inside his rundown accomadation without his knowledge for 3 days.

Oh I see, Mr BC has got himself a lawyer, judging by the level of his post probably living in the same trailerpark as the OP. As for my rundown accomadation, does Naebkehard mean something to you? No I didn't think so, as it is a long way from the ghetto in Bon Gai. I am sure I could squeze in your second hand Honda Jazz with my 4 other cars. No problem.

Sorry UKJASE, this got a little off track.sorry.gif

Still nothing constructive from this hypacrytical bigot.

Now he makes out he know's me, I do not live in Bon Gai and I do not drive a Honda Jazz not that their is anything wrong with either.

This guy is so f@*ched up in the head he has a problem with people living in Bon Gai area, people that drive a Honda Jazz and People that use Internet Cafe's, whats his problem?

i think all this was directed at bazilfox... AKA BC..... he's the one who polishes his honda jizz everyday before paying his bargirl to carry his golf bags round the local park...... or so he comes on here telling everybody (personally i dont think he can afford a bargirl)

  16. i attended Sirida school on the main road, phetkasem (a little after soi 59 heading south) and they are a good school.... not too sure on how their teaching of thai script is handled, but for the verbal stuff i enjoyed my time there

    the number is 032532650

Wasted your time here Pommee, check the capitalisation and gramma in your English. sad.pngwhistling.gifsad.png

i attended Sirida school on the main road, phetkasem (a little after soi 59 heading south) and they are a good school.... not too sure on how their teaching of thai script is handled, but for the verbal stuff i enjoyed my time there

BAZIL F... OFF YOU SMALL ENDOWED WEIRDO............

is there enough capitalisation there for you BC?

  17. i passed the practical bits on the motorbike yesterday, but today i sat the theory test......

now maybe i am a sore loser, but some of the questions did not seem to translate very well into english, and so the result was that more than one of the choices could have been right.... and i am sure i got asked the same question twice, and the answer was different on either occasion...... but anyway.....

i failed it twice, and was not allowed to try again until tomorrow..... i will be there first thing, and everyday until i pass, or i reach the limit of 90 days' worth of attempts (the Thai road system loves a trier!)

but, i was wondering if anyone new of a good resource so i can brush up on my thai road signs and highway code...... i had to sit through 4 hours of videos and chit chat in the classroom yesterday, but unfortunately my thai language skills are worse than my driving....

anyone done this test? any tips guys??
