How does one prove when the money was earned? For example, if I have an account that has held X amount of money over the years plus some income and then transfer a percentage of that money into Thailand, how do they know whether it's money from 5 years ago that the bank is transferring or money from this year?

He has quite a while to go before retirement, if he's really genuine to stop corruption he'll need time.
He doesn't seem to be afraid of the other senior cops.
Some of his team involved in gambling corruption not good news but inevitable. And a chance for BJ to show his strength.
Since it is impossible to rise up in the ranks of the force without "Tea Money" he has spent most of his career involved directly with corruption - what on earth makes you think he is genuine about stopping corruption?

That, or the actual "creator" of this universe doesn't give a flying f about us. Either way, these stories never bode well for the religious ones cause the spin needed to justify an all-powerful, all-seeing loving god watching a 2 year old get murdered is always interesting to watch.

If you no longer live here what do you need a local DL for? You can use your home country DL and international permit
Home country DL expired years ago and is a pain in the ass to renew. Also, I spend more time in Thailand than home country.

On visa exempt, you will revert to a 2 year licence, 5 year are long stay visa only....
I use my yellow book, but I read some places reject it...
Thanks! Do you think a Non-O will count as long stay even if I don't extend the 90days?
-
I have a 5 year license that will expire next year. However, I no longer live full-time in Thailand and usually use visa-exempt when I visit (1/2 times per year). Will I be able to renew my license on Visa exempt, or should I get a non-o visa instead before applying? I plan to use a yellow book as proof of residence since I don't have a Work Permit (that's what I used last time for proof of address)
Thanks in advance for any input

All theatre. This is the headline we would've read in the event of Pita being elected PM: "Court Dissolves Move Forward Party" - the CC can now "appear" to be impartial ????

Such quality reporting on what should be major regional financial news:
"The banks include Thai Military Bank, Bank of Ayudhya, CIMB Thai Bank, and Bangkok Bank."
"However, other major Thai banks such as Bangkok Bank, Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya), Krungthai Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, and Kasikornbank continue to operate in Laos."
So Bangkok Bank is shutting down yet continuing operations at the same time? If this part of the article is inaccurate, then how much of the rest is? ????

If you want to do that, make sure it’s in Pattaya or some equally uncouth place. Don’t go bringing trashy whitey behaviour here! ????
Note to self: Remind local Thais walking around topless down south to stop their "trashy whitey behaviour" ????

MF party only won 30% of the vote so how is it that the remaining 70% cannot choose their candidate for PM? So how is their choice not something the Thai people had voted for ?
Strange that you seem to conveniently ignore the fact that when 62% of the voters' representatives voted for Pita, their choice was not allowed to be the choice.

You must have been in some pretty old taxis, then, as they've been standard fitment by the manufacturers for many years and removing them makes no sense. Why would a taxi owner, or a taxi co-operative, want to remove those belts from their vehicles?
They don't remove them, but they are not able to be used since the clamp buckles and/or belts are hidden under seat covers etc.

I'm sure the taxi drivers will follow this law in the same way they follow tariff, speed requirements
, traffic light, overtaking, correct side of the road etc. laws. ????

So confirming that pre-election promises aren't worth the cheap carboard they're printed on.

Two parties have put aside their differences for the good of the country when Pita's minority party was unable to form a strong coalition. Maybe if he had stepped aside earlier with all the accusations about him, then this impasse wouldn't have dragged on so long. The new coalition needs to be commended for their efforts.
"... unable to form a strong coalition."??? Pita's coalition had a 62% house majority - if that's not a strong coalition, I don't know what is.

It's illegal to swing a golf club at balls in the national park? Such nonsense!
1 golfer = x number of balls polluting the park. Imagine if it was legal. So it's not nonsense. However, look at all the other trash at the national parks (especially the shipping areas) - I hope this official also prosecutes those people that contribute to the litter.

Surely abstensions should lower the total number of legal representative votes i.e. if 50 people abstain the required majority becomes 351 (not 376) etc. Still including abstensions in the total without adjusting the numbers just makes them "no" votes. Nonsense. Why not say then that an abstension equals a "yes" vote? Equally ludicrous.

Good - hopefully the thought of an angry mob outside the door will knock some sense into the "undecided" Senators. They should realise that nobody will be allowed to leave the parliament complex easily if the vote doesn't go Pita's way.

Been engaged for a couple years I've just been lazy to make it official even though it sounds like a much quicker process then this visa crap I deal with. Wedding date is officially going to be Feb 2024 so I'll be done with visas then.
You mean the ceremony or trip to the local Amphoe office (legal marriage)? Because there's no point in waiting to the 24th for the official license which will be done quickly at the local Amphoe and then you can get the 60 day spousal visit.

Unbelievable that a law as section 112 can not be amended or changed...and that talking about to do is already a reason for disqualifying....Are we still living in Middle Ages??
The law can be changed. When Prayuth instigated the coup and tore up the constitution, there was a brief period where it didn't exist. Some diehard 112'ers here don't seem to understand that ALL laws can be changed.

Junta-appointed senator Somchai Sawaengkarn posted on FB Tues saying "inexperienced" Move Forward has made a wrong move with House Speaker being from another party. He added MFP PM candidate Pita won't be chosen as PM so MFP will end up as opposition party for 4 yrs.

How can he (A) speak for all the senators and (B) know for certain he won't be chosen. I wouldn't be surprised if Pita becomes PM with only MP votes.
