A majority in parliament is anti-democratic when it does not include the party you like???

A majority in parliament (not speaking about the Senators) is per definition democratic.

Exactly, MFP already have a majority coalition which is democratic. Even you have to add the caveat about the senators because you know the current Thai system isn't demoractic, no matter how hard you try and spin it.

So they need 376 seats and they have 309 - “Thai Pride Party,” has 71 MPs.

The problem appears to be “drugs” (Thai pride legalised cannabis) – surely the other parties can separate cannabis from the other “harder” drugs and do a deal?

The other problem is that Anutin is a snake: he promised not to support the coup makers (pre election) then formed a government with them. Also, MFP have stated that they wouldn't side with any coup makers (is BJT supporting coup makers to form a government culpable action in the eyes of MFP is the question)

sorry but my gf wants to know if she is going to get the 10k if she did not go home to vote

PT didn't win, so she's not getting 10k (nothing to do with whether she voted or not) . That election promise was based on them winning and forming the government (not being chosen to be part of it). MFP won and are forming the government. The 10k is dead in the water.

Yes and no. This rule was voted in by a majority of Thai through a referendum on the latest constitutiion. Not a lot of people read the constitution before they gave their vote.

Yes and no. The majority voted for it because it was the only way to get an election. Voting "no" would've continued NCPO rule indefinitely if their words and actions were to be believed. Furthermore, changes were made to the draft constitution without the support of a referendum. Fundamental changes to how the country and its financial resources were allowed to be governed.

I guess you know nothing about diplomatic language. "sustained possibility" means they're onto something. Ambassadors and senior diplomats are not idiots and this information is coming from more than 6 nations embassies (or consulates) in BKK.

Asking questions? "The EU diplomats were known to have inquired with the Bhumjaithai leader...."

I understand "diplomatic language", thank you. However, perhaps you missed the opening of the article which states "... according to Bhumjaithai leader Anutin Charnvirakul." ???? Thai (and other) politicians have a history of putting words in other countries' mouths - they get away with it more here due to poor journalism and those that support it.

That taxi driver estimate of 7 hours was full of poo! Regardless, are we now meant only to fly everywhere in Thailand rather than take buses or trains, I thought we were supposed to be cutting back on emissions, not increasing them....is Boeing anywhere near producing an EV version of the 777! The road from Bangkok to Hua Hin is being widened and improved, the overground railway is also being built out. Let's not have those things AND a functional airport or before you know it HH will become and extension of Bangkok.

I've driven 5 hours from BKK to Cha Am during holidays, so a 7 hour estimate to Hua Hin is really not that far off.
