What do the Americans need special security considerations for?
They've set themselves up as the ''worlds police force'' thus they should be able to contain any threats real or imaginary. alt=whistling.gif>
And I am sure that you are personally responsible for all policies and practices that your government undertakes. Right? No? Really???

Not a comment directed towards the OP, but I always wonder how people support themselves while staying here illegally for 4, 7 or 11 years. I mean, can't work (legally), likely dont have a bank account here. I suppose they can ATM their retirement checks off their home bank, or their family sends them Western Union to keep them away. If a person comes flush with cash why do they need to overstay for so long? And if not flush, how do they live? Just wondering.

Just keep you execution impeccable - 11 years overstay, 1 post count, that can be sort of a TV record.
Maybe he didn't have anything to say? I prefer lurkers over barstool philosophers who have an opinion on everything...just saying.

Yep, as soon as I read your OP, I'm thinking leaving via the Airport.
Tell me why do most of these members with these style issues have only 1 post and joined within the last hour ... alt=whistling.gif>
One of life mysteries that we may never solve.
As opposed to those with 14,000 posts and feel the need to respond to 80% of the new topics every day?

Air in the brake lines? Is the shake steady or a left-to-right movement? Is the front brake disk or drum? Discs can warp from heating due to riding the breaks...

Hi, moving to CR next week, from BKK and hoping to meet some people for occasional chess games. If interested, please PM me. Thanks
If there happens to be group or club I would love to hear about it.

This topic is a little outdated. Anything coming up in Aug?

Welcome to the 3rd world. At least we are here by choice... As I have seen it, the Army has taken over a lot of the polices criminal activities, for themselves. The police, in turn, are desperate for new shake downs to refills there recently emptied pockets. While the army is in charge (and taken over the big drug, gambling and human trafficking rackets) the police will be running around trying to scrape up crumbs.

And the resorts ownerships were promptly transferred to a certain high ranking military leader as a reward for his fine work...

-I do not beleive this story .
First he loses documents, why not contact british embassy???
Beaten by prison guards absolute rubbish.
Ihave spent time in a Thai prison . I was treated with the upmost respect by guards and other inmates.
British embassy contacted the prison, i spoke with man from embassy. He told me of my rights etc, we can contact a Thai lawyer for you, very helpful he was.
So before people speak about how unhelpful the British embassy staff are, think of people in my situation, they helped me.
He has a mental age of 12
That's about the mental age of most tourists and 1/2 the expats I have met in Thailand.

Research has proven that bi-lingual kids are a bit slow to talk, but soon will catch up in both languages. My sone speaks Thai primarily, some Laos, and knows English but is lazy to speak it. He even knows a little Khmer he picked up from his uncles. He is 3 1/2.

Once again, changing jobs and cities so driving my cbr250 to my new home. This time its Chiang Rai. Looks like about 900km, fairly straight north and expect 2-2.5 days of mellow riding. I enjoy these long trips, but having the bike packed down with 60-70kg of duffel bags makes it less fluid riding. Anyone up for a road trip July 31?

The south needs to be a police state and Thailand needs to consider permanent action towards muslims (southern muslims). It won't happen, but its the only thing that will stop it.

Do they really think the rich will ever pay taxes? There is a reason why 10% of the population hold 90% of the total wealth here. The rich would burn it all down before having to pitch in.

Depends where you live. Udomsuk and Bang Na BTS stations are close. Also, you have the added advantage of being able to use the ride-on ride-off ferry at Wat Bang Na Nok.
This ferry is a great way to get across, at times i use it with the motorbike too,
Any idea what times the first and last ferry are? i was told the last ferry is about 7pm?
There is a ferry if you go to Bearing and take a right, long industrial road (about 6km) but the ferry crosses to the road that leads to the green area. 10 bht and 24 hours a day. The one by Bang na is much closer and likely the same price.

A nurse and her friends invest 28+ million and complain about cheating? Wonder how she made this big money without cheating. Jacky complains about Jack!

Well...you have somewhat of a point. They could have sold some family held land, that seems the only way "real" people come into money. I have yet to see an honest Thai make millions of baht through work. Business owners don;t pay people, so its not possible. Money comes either through corruption, illegal activities, or family handouts.

That was what he meant...keep up.
I would sack her too.
or would you like to get her IN the sack.

Why is it that so many expats in Thailand think the world revolves around them? I see this so much, "I have a fortuner or a condo" so therefor I am superior to everyone else. Same behaviors would get there butts kicked in there own country, but most expats are careful to cause trouble in Thailand so we let them get away with it.

It seems that Cm pays much less than Bangkok. Either because cost of living in cheaper there, or there are so many "retirees" that they think people will take hobby jobs and really dot need the money. When you look at teacher websites, CM offers around 22-28k for jobs that pay 32-38 in BKK.

In my experience, they are pretty dodgy and unprofessional. Unless they are sure they can make a quick profit off you, they likely won;t even answer your e-mails. They seek those candidates they want to pimp out, not collect a database of potential candidates.

Not sure what is more strange, that this is considered news, or that people actually believe his story. If I had 100 baht for ever sob story by a foreigner who actually self-inflicted there own problems.....
