Office of land transport. need to go with the person selling the bike, and you need a work permit or residency proof to get it in your name.

Funny how those with a nice fat bank account are the first to criticize raising wages. "What? I have to pay my servants more? no way!" Let have those driving the BMWs and Benzes live on 300 baht a day, even for one week. Suicides would increase 500%.

I have seen tourists fall for this also. The scammers wait until they take the picture, then jump out like sukhumvit cigarette police and demand their money. Its a shame it took public complaints for a famous Watt to do the right thing and didnt change this on their own, but I suppose they got a cut...

Cambridge company puts out a book series called "Q-skills" for reading and writing, each level progressively harder. Each book is good for about 40 hours of teaching and cost around 300 baht each. Pretty good books IMHO

Very big, but considered degree mill. Open enrollment and only have to pay tuition, not actually study (Thats the reputation at least). Well known because of the size, but not considered a real "think tank".

I thought every expat living there thinks he is a legend...

You may wish to contact the minister of education about this. You will find its not as easy as you may be hoping, but not impossible.

Unless your interacting with Thai speakers, all lessons will produce low results. I knew a guy who did all the books and all the videos before he came to Thailand. He did learn a lot, and thought he was fluent, but no Thai people could understand a word he said. There is a "language exchange" website (google search it) in which you can meet people who wish to learn German and can teach Thai for free, via skype...

Can get one at Robinson (middle level), Tesco for cheap ones, and emporium or paragon for the $250+ models.

You will need to establish your position with the brother (the alpha male thing). Thai boys are spoiled and generally their families let them get away with rude behavior. Doubt he has ever been stood up to. You need to "enlighten" him in private, opr just avoid him and ban him from your home.

I'd like to know where inmates get 3 mil baht to buy a cell phone. For 95% of the population thats 30 years pay. The 5% of the population with that kind of money to spend never see the inside of a prison.

Best to report to the police in the country in which she sent the money.

Don't worry, even the mature and professional ones will not save your life.

Can't blame them for being smart.... Would YOU marry a typical Thai man?

Watch your back, because nobody else will. Not your business.

My former boss, A Dutch guy, makes all his employees give him their receipts for any major purchases they (personally) make so he can claim the VAT refund. I hope he comes under their scrutiny, but I doubt it will happen. I reported him to several agencies and they wouldn't even return my calls.

Complete joke. Thailand is 150 years behind in drug addiction treatment and they plan to stay that way. I am a Western trained, graduate level addiction counselor with 20 years experience. I have been working in Thailand for 5 years (foreign companies, with mostly foreign clients). I have contacted several Thai government agencies several times to offer my experience in consulting and program advising (for free!!!) and have never gotten one response. In 5 years I have not met one Thai counselor, psychiatrist or psychologist who knows the first thing about treating addiction. Sad when a country chooses to remain 3rd world.
