  1. I don’t think that Russia will be so stupid as to advertise a possible attack on the Baltic Pipeline. If they wanted to, they would have just gone ahead and sabotaged it. The main beneficiary of this sabotage is the US. Many European leaders have come to realise that they have been duped by the US into fighting this proxy war but are impotent to do anything about it.
  2. Well done AIS. Would be great to be able to have 5G all over Thailand.
  3. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions, even idiots. Guess who will be laughing all the way to the bank if petrol prices shoot over 40 baht per litre.
  4. I would love to respond to your posts but as it’s off topic, it would get deleted.
  5. I thought I read somewhere that CM immigration accepts a joint account with 1,6 million baht. Can anyone confirm this?
  6. I think that the majority comes from natural gas. A distant 2nd is coal and renewables are about half of coal. This thread does not talk about climate change, just about practicality, affordability etc
  7. Spouting rhetoric again to make yourself seem smarter than others I don’t even understand that.. Obviously, I’m not as smart as others.
  8. Ah, the fully debunked debt trap diplomacy myth. It’s not like the west didn’t exploit these countries and most of SEA and India. . You need to brush up on your history.
  9. Classic example of self righteous attitude. Laughable, coming from someone from a morally bankrupt nation.
  10. You enquired if I’m familiar with the region and I replied in the affirmative. Makes lots of sense to me. You expressed your disgust with some of the governments in the region so I assume that you do not live in this region. Makes even more sense to me.
  11. Why don’t you tell us where you are from and what you consider a good breakfast? In my opinion, a full English breakfast consisting of kippers, fried eggs, bacon and sausages is at good as it gets.
  12. I have most assuredly spent more time in Asia than you have. In fact, I was born here, grew up here and went to school here. I would venture that you probably don’t live here as surely, with your morals, you would not live in a region with unelected regimes, without shame, ethics or morals. But if you do live here and therefore support the economy, then what does that say about your shame, ethics and morals?
  13. Caveat: Never argue with people that are always right even when they are wrong. Thanks for the advice.
  14. I would argue that Thailand has more shame, ethics and morals than a lot of other countries but can’t give examples as that would be off topic.
  15. Most of SEA countries are (relatively) peaceful nations because they have culture and tradition as their moral backbone, not hypocrisy
  16. The global implications came about mostly due to the actions (sanctions against Russia) of the collective west. Without those actions, Russia would not have turned off the taps, exports of grain, fertiliser etc would be continuing, de-dollarisation would have been slower and inflation wouldn’t have been exported all over the world. Some would argue that the sanctions were due to Russia invading Ukraine but I don’t remember sanctions being put on another country when she invaded other countries, particularly in the ME.
  17. Russia has been consistently warning NATO not to expand eastwards and pose an existential threat to her. Even Kissinger agrees. So it should be NATO and the collective west that should be blamed and criticised for pushing Russia into a corner and forcing her hand.
  18. If you can’t see that rising prices are a result of soaring energy (fuel, oil, gas, electricity) costs which are primarily due to the sanctions on Russia, then there isn’t much point in discussing global economies with you. A property crisis in China and possible recession is worrying for Thailand as this will have an effect on her exports and FDI’s. Nevertheless, I have no doubt that China will emerge stronger than any other country as they have the intelligence, skills and manpower sorely lacking in many other parts of the world.
  19. Even that is slowly changing as they are clamping down on schools teaching facts. They are inventing their own truths. As factual as the truth social truths lol
  20. Nothing pretentious or snobby or brave. I was just doing my job, entertaining rich consumers from all over the world. Mostly Russians, Chinese and Indians. Occasionally some Arabs, they are not so much into diamonds. Hardly any Americans, they prefer to shop at McDonalds or by mail order lol.
  21. Haha. Yes, extension cords are definitely not an option. Unlikely to be drawing 2500w for an extended period of time but then again, won’t the grid kick in?
  22. I beg to differ. Many posters rubbish Indian, Chinese, Russian tourists as being low quality, low spending, tight as gnats and sharing a bottle of water between 4 of them. Presumably therefore, they are the ones that are extremely rich and that only western tourists are of high quality and rich. I am far from rich which is why I will never look down on anyone regardless of their net worth.
  23. Does anyone know what sort of electrical work is required in hooking up an EV battery to the house mains as a backup battery? I already have a 3Kwh solar install.
