  1. I find this all so stupid from some people.

Obviously every Imm Office around the country is different and as we have found out Jomtien is different for some people. So every person should just do whatever they feel is the correct way for them  ie: file, don't file, it doesn't affect anyone else. As I said before I have never filed, but that doesn't affect anyone else on TVF, or anyone else in Thailand for that matter.

Just do what you think is right for your own circumstances. enuff.

  2. I have had 'Subtawee' accounts before and other similiar ones, with never a problem to open.

I have WP, but have never needed it to open the accounts.

So all I say is yes they allow foreigners to open..me anyway.

Only thing is with these accounts you cannot take out the money until the specified end date (unlike a fixed deposit where any early withdrawal reverts back to the normal savings account rate).

    Good luck to you.

'idiotic questions and comments made sometimes'

But are they ?   if you leave home for overnight = a New TM 30 right ?

The only times I am away = 2 nights........  if going south then is the 20:00 VIP overnight Bus arrive next morning, spend the day with friends then catch the 21:00 VIP overnight Bus back home... If I go north mostly will take the sleeper Train leaving at 18:00 + the next night the overnight sleeper return.....   both trip are 2 nights, so where does the TM30 come in ?

You completely missed the point...He is flying out of the country. TM30 is for not for that purpose.

So you reckon he can get blacklisted if he's not doing a TM30 for his last night at the airport. And, who would be responsible for this TM30, immigration or the Airport Authority?

I really can't believe the absolutely idiotic questions and comments made sometimes. After all the hundreds of posts about TM30's on multiple threads, someone asks if the Airport staff would fill in a TM30 for them if they stay on the airport chairs for a few hours before flying out..lunacy.

Near Khok Kloi Phangnga. Not Phuket.

Not Phuket tourist prices. Cheaper than Pattaya tourist prices I think.

No farang restaurants (I think, never see).

Khok Kloi is a very dull place (in my opinion). There is one restaurant about 1k before coming into the town and one restaurant on the beach road just before the Aleenta Hotel, It has 3 massage places but no naughty stuff. One hotel opposite Lotus, but its quite old.

Anyway not my cup of tea, but maybe what others are looking for in life. Cheers.

Forgot to say there are some lovely deserted beaches on the Phangna beach near KK....even clean sand.

I have eaten there. You have sort of pushed me to be brutally honest. I thought it was excellent value for money in terms of a stomach filler. Huge portions at cheap prices.

However, in order to achieve that, they had to use cheap ingredients to reach a minimum threshold. I am not criticising Nicky's. The owner does a great job at keeping her customers happy at a price they like.

On this occasion, for which I am asking for advice, I am looking to move up the price and quality chain. I am asking about restaurants which are not directly competing with Nicky's in the same way that Villa does not compete with Tesco Lotus.

Therefore, Nicky's may be the best at their price bracket but I feel there is better out there.

I hope this clarifies what I am looking for.

Well Briggsy maybe someone else needs to be brutally honest. There are 3 pages of suggestions on this 3 page thread, and you have basically poopooed them all for various reasons, so myself and probably other posters think it would be a good idea to look around yourself, and hopefully you'll find what you are looking for.

Also---what is 'googen'--an offshoot of google possibly?

Thankyou for replying, it is not the protection programme,  you mentioned Different rules when it comes to source of funds documentation and if interest is paid. Yes i would like to find out where these rules are online, I have over 1 million in limbo at the moment, i was hoping that with the ncpo cancelling martial law this would be sorted soon, any advice is welcome, thankyou

To OP...your post is rather nonsensical...

Secondly where does the Martial law bit come from?

As a newbie, if you want answers then you must write a question that is understandable, otherwise advice cannot not be given.

Utter rubbish...it is done for you with no charge (either at the time or in subsequent billing).

Actually with thousands of subscribers they were very proactive in to doing the required changes before the satellite change.

Can you imagine the chaos if they didnt.

One just need read Tvisa on a daily basis to observe the stereotype insistence of those who are unable to increase their knowledge and understanding

For me the equation is simple

Has my life improved since meeting and marrying my Thai wife - yes - a transformation I would not have anticipated or thought possible

Has life for my wife improved since meeting and marrying me - I would like to think yes, but much harder for her to deal with the expectations of others. I am very proud of the way she has retained mutual core intentions, listened to, and provided, thoughtful and constructive advice, and brushes away the nonsensical inflammatory diatribe of some of the locals. My wife is special.

In my opinion people observe we make a good team, both benefit from our relationship, carry the same family and community values as any decent Thai, I think this helps us to be viewed as a 'normal couple' - but different ????

This is probably one of the most sensible posts ever written on the all encompassing subject of marrying Thai women.

Actually I was going to reply to this thread, in basically the same way, but after reading yours I don't have to now.

Only thing I should add is that we shouldn't make our remarks only for Issarn ladies, but take in all of Thailand.

    Well done.

They have a box marked True care. (start chat with expert).

Press it and you have a chat operator in English..very efficient.

There app is very good....try it, you'll like it.

( sorry to be negative, but who sends an actual letter by post these days!!).

  11. The requirement at BPH is because of there Insurance coverage.

Therefore the insurance company make it mandatory, so if you refuse to have your BP taken, then they will advise that treatment cannot be given. So its a simple choice, have at it taken if you want BPH treatment, or go elsewhere.

Also there is no charge for taking your BP, as some people have alluded to.

It is strictly mandatory as outlined above, not a scam or a money grab.

  12. From my boyhood I remember the term 'pinking', which is when your car engine kinda chatters a bit at the beginning of acceleration, possibly due to a timing issue or improper combustion. Probably a lot of people will remember the term, but what I really want is a translation into Thai, so I can explain to the mechanic (as I have this issue at the moment). Any genuine help appreciated.

  14. You have one of those 'catch 22' situations.

But to make a one year extension based on marriage, they require the following.

1)Original marriage certificate from your home country

2)Translation of that certificate into Thai

(both of the above documents MUST be stamped/certified by your Embassy in Bangkok)

3)The MFA will issue a document certifying 1) and 2) above. (RorKor 22)

This is enough to get your first extension.

Starting from your 2nd extension you will need all of the above PLUS the updated RK22 from your local amphur to prove you are still married.

I have had been submitting papers to Immigration for over 35 years, and this is the only way.

  15. The plan calls for at least 3 heavy duty blowers, lots of water pumps (some on continuously and others on and off 24/365). Industrial ice machines, walk in coolers and of course the normal lighting etc.

So yes definitely will have our own transformer, and probably looking at max 200A per phase.

Thanks again for all your help.
