Burmese magnate Tun Min Latt walks free from drug trafficking trial
jollyhangmon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
... and here's what these vermin are up to besides drugs, nicely supported by plenty of bat-eating perps btw. At least a dozen such clusters (...) directly at the burmese/thai border in or around their hyped special industrial zones (or whatever they call it), plenty of collaboration, no doubt ... Quote: Thousands of people are trafficked worldwide into Myanmar's war-torn east, where they are forced to trick people in Europe, the US and China into scam schemes. At KK Park, one of the most notorious facilities, those who refuse risk torture and even murder. DW’s investigative unit went to the borderlands of Thailand and Myanmar to track down the perpetrators behind this multimillion-euro operation. Along the way, they uncovered a vast criminal network leading to a notorious Chinese Triad boss. -
Russian upper class take over Phuket properties
jollyhangmon replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
... hmm, looks like yet another deep colon dwelling stooge & lover of f'n Pukin just entered the stage ^^ ?! Or rather some new alter ego of one of the resident schizos ... will be fun albeit an unfortunate waste of cyberspace, hahaha ... -
... yep, and apparently the mozzies don't (love the smell) which is another plus ... Pretty sure your homegrown ones will have more taste than almost all that's on sale these days. That's why my mother's also growing her own (in Austria) now, dark red & very tasty but getting quite sturdy skin because of rather fresh nights there even during summer ...

My "to the top of page" button is missing
jollyhangmon replied to sirineou's topic in Forum Support Desk
... well, that's rather unfortunate, but if you're using a mouse it's a bit inconvenient even if working anyway ... try this browser extension <Scroll To Top Button>, fully customizable, free of course with 4.5 outta 5 stars which seems to be quite accurate, been using it for a couple years by now, no complaints: Links to webstore etc.: Scroll To Top Button for Chrome: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/scroll-to-top-button/chinfkfmaefdlchhempbfgbdagheknoj Scroll To Top Button for Opera: https://addons.opera.com/extensions/details/scroll-to-top-button/ Scroll To Top Button for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/scroll-to-top-button-extension/ Scroll To Top Button for Microsoft Edge: https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/detail/scroll-to-top-button/dobeplcigkjlbajngcgnndecohjkjmia -
... yes, personally only used Austrian 2, 3 times for short trips like Spain or Greece, just another overpriced 'legacy' carrier and even better long since firmly in German hands (Lufthansa), lol ... Darn, had to look up KLU / Klagenfurt alright ... well, have a look into EVA ... also more expensive now - looks like at least some of the competitors (like Egypt Air, alas not direct) just fell off the grid here - but still better than Thai or Austrian. Then again, maybe connection for you to KLU not suitable timewise, cause I just take the train from VIE basically every 30 mins at least ...

Delivery truck with parcels sinks in Chao Phraya River, goods lost

... absolutely, not any farther than one could throw 'em ... in other words: believe it when I see it. That said I heard today that at least the Turks have publicised their ratification in their guvment gazette now which apparently makes it official. As for ole fatty in Hungary, it's hair raising how much control he's got over there - especially over the media. My mother's born there so even more info but still not too much of an idea how it actually went this far ... if it wasn't for the now unfortunately necessary 'deal making' I suppose he'd see pretty much eff all of 'his' EU dosh, ever ... Here he is with his bff Ficko from Slovakia, two lovely dudes as can be readily observed, total miff-meisters actually, 555 ... looking a bit like Quasimodo (after successful back surgery, granted) plus his fairly short & fat sidekick ...

Orban: Ratification of Sweden's accession to NATO 'soon' Following Turkey's approval, Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban has pledged to press ahead with the long-delayed ratification of Sweden's NATO membership. Orban said yesterday after a conversation with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the X platform (Twitter) that he would urge parliament to vote on it as soon as possible. Stoltenberg welcomed Orban's support. He would be looking forward to ratification as soon as Parliament meets again, Orban wrote on X. He did not say when a vote on this might take place. Normally, the next session of the Hungarian Parliament would begin on February 27th. Plenary vote pending It remained unclear whether there could be an unscheduled special session beforehand to ratify Sweden's accession to the Western military alliance. Ratification has already been approved in parliament's specialist committees. The vote in the plenary session is still missing. In Turkey, following the positive decision by the parliament in Ankara, all that remains is the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to complete the Turkish ratification of the accession protocol. Man Forces Tourists at Knifepoint to Buy Beer in Pattaya
jollyhangmon replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
... absolutely, we're talking about the local piss after all ...! -
... yep, I guess you mean it would look somewhat like follows: Income tax free personal allowance in AT for example is close to 500k THB at the moment (= 13k EUR) baseline, let's say 495k THB - compared to the Thai equivalent of what, 120k THB I believe (= 3.160.- EUR, all calculated at 1:38 exchange rate). So a (here) potentially taxable difference of 375k THB / 9.870.- EUR even if one were to only bring in the amount that's tax free in the home country ...

Most of Thailand will turn slightly cooler over the weekend
jollyhangmon replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Wow, not exactly refreshing indeed. 14C two days ago 6am, today back up to 16 or 17C, pretty much maxed out at your 28 morning temp up here today, read in the shade of course and with a few clouds plus a bit of cooler breeze blowing all day. That's Phayao Centrale, as far away from any mountain you can possibly get around here and temps are quite standard for this time of year as well ... downside: smeggin' air pollution is creeping up already ...
