@Pib, thank you very much for your table.
But i would like to add one important fact. There is a 1 working-day difference between a Master-Card and a Visa-Card.
- the rate for the Mastercard is fixed/known 1 working day after your ATM-transaction. Result: you don't know the exact rate at the day of the transaction.
- the rate for the Visa-Card is fixed just after midnight - at New York time of the day of the (ATM) transaction). Result: you know already the exact Visa exchange rate in advance. You must only consider the time difference between NY and Thailand. I believe it's 11/12 hours, dpending on Summer or witer time. For my German Visa-Europe-Card the € --> THB Visa-rate of the day is available until 5 p.m. now in the "summer"time. In the winter-time until 6 p.m.

Isn't it strange that only "retournees" cause covid-19 cases here in Thailand, in a country with such low infection cases?!
If you use your logic then you decouver contradictions.
- As far as I know, no normal tourist is allowed to enter Thailand - except diplomats, etc. "12 from Sudan", they all haven't been controlled in their country or airport of departure? The same concerning 1 patient from Bahrain and from the US, too? Unbelivable.
- Only farangs carried the Covid-19, Thailand, but Thailand has gone 47 days without a domestic case. Incredible. Yes, if you don't test Thais, there are no cases! Trump logic.
- Yes, I know, the time between the virus-infection and the -discovery takes more than 3 days. Therefore it's possible, that the virus could not yet be detected in the state of departure, but a short time later in Thailand. But, but .. that happened 47 days only in falang cases? Incredible.
For me it seems the military government wants to hide a lot.

It is indeed a Sad Event no Question, so is from what i read here is Hanging the Driver without knowing the facts.
Nearly all (the other) commentators presume
- all Thai (minibus) drivers are driving like idiots !
- (only) Thai drivers behave like this, the falangs never make driving mistakes!.
- the driver was the the only culprit - without knowing the details !
Maybe it's their experience. My own experience over 15 years with minibuses from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son on the N 1095, they are driving excellently; never involved in an accident. Maybe 1 or 2 times the driver shouldn't have overtaken.
When I see the traffic here on the N 1995 I cannot find any difference between young Thai and falang idiots racing with their motorbikes through the village in a high speed. They would like to impress the village people with the noisy gears of their bikes. A difference between falng and Thai drivers? Not at all beside the fact, that there are reponsible drivers on both sides. .
In our mountain area with many, many curves on the N 1095-road the public minibuses (Prempracha) drive only at daylight (with 1 exception). The bus drivers are driving only 1 minbus per day from CNX to MHS or vice versa, have 3 or 4 stops of 10 to 15 minutes. So they are relaxed after 6 to 7 hours tour and have enough time for sleeping.
But I hear and read different things about minibus companies in big cities like BKK. Sometimes they don't give them enough time for recreation between 2 driving jobs. That's specifically dangerous for driving jobs at night. Who is the culprit now - the driver or the minibus-owner ?

One of the first questions reporters asked McEnany after she called it a 'book of falsehoods' was:

"No", was her response.
Oh, the irony!

You are deflecting.!!!
Trump is the #1 liar, the LOTUS = Liar Of The United States !
Everybody with only a small brain could recognize his shabby, morbid character and his foolishness in 2016, before the elction.
It makes me sad is that there are so many Americans supporting him. The tax deduction, one of his few achieved election promisses, was supoorted by a few egoistic Dems. They all thought only of themselves.
I learnt a lot about the political system during the Trump-time. And I recognized, sorry that I repeat it, this system has lot more holes than a Swiss Cheese. A normal democracy has 3 independent powers, the US only 2. Forget the juristic power in the US, especially under Barr and his minions. Remember Kavanough's nomination, only 1 example of many. Another elementary hole in the US-cheese, the most mighty person, the president, is not choosen by the majority of the voters. Hillary Clinton has had 3 million more votes than Trump.
The US execitive has too much power and can easily be abused, as shown by Trump day by day.

Answer me this then guys why would China and the CCP actively campaign to keep airports open then allow half a million people to fly out of Wuhan knowing they were delivering a deadly highly contagious disease to the rest of the world (while closing domestic travel) if it were not to weaken western economies?
China has the WHO in it's pocket and has used this virus to it's full advantage and you know it!
Dear Bluespunk, you are fighting 2 members with a low knowledge of the facts, but with big mouth. Ridiculous also their deflecting from the main subject: lifting of the (covid-)lockdown in England.
Now to some facts. Yes, the Covid-19 had its origin in Wuhan, China. After China informed the world (a little bit too late at the end of 2019) the foreigners wished to leave their now dangerous working place in Wuhan/China. Wuhan closed it borders completely. Fellow countrymen and foreigners were not allowed to go in to avoid that they got infected and spreading the virus.
But at the same time Wuhan supported the foreigners leaving the dangerous virus-area. The Chinese allowed governments of foreign countries to fly their compatriots back to their homes. There they have been checked and controlled, if they had been infected by the virus; at least in Germany. Therefore it was in the best interest of the foreigners, unwilligly confirmed by "misterjames":
It is a fact that China campaigned to the WHO to keep airports open letting people from Wuhan fly internationally but not domestically.

I don't care if they are important or not it makes us look bad as a group. These guys are doing us a disservice. I hate the mask but keep it on even if some Thais don't. As a foreigner your always under more scrutiny by some so why give them opportunity.
First; you and I, we don't know the reason, why they opened their face masks in a "closed" room (what should have happened, of course) - #23.
Second; "These guys are doing us a disservice." I'm not alone in observing that most of all Thais don't wear a face mask. I repeat it, a giant number of them. Especially, if they are not forced to wear the masks; i.e. when shopping. Maybe they think they are intouchable by this disease or ignorant or too poor as in our not so rich rural area. Then think again about your "disservice". They don't worry at all, if you or I wear a face mask or not, with the logical exception in the medical service etc.
Furthermore, I don't think not wearing a mask is not the main or an important reason for Thais to think bad about us farangs.
BTW: once I learnt concerning polls: give me your wanted poll result, then you will get it (and pay for it).

90% of Thais in the northern city were wearing masks but not a single "farang" was wearing one.
Send him to primary school again to learn about % .
But I'm afraid even this wouldn't work.
Another idea: send him to the USA, he would be an "outstanding" adviser for Trump, concerning facts !!!

The basic element of politics is BELIEF.
That means you can believe that there is a second universe, but you cannot improve it. You cannot improve that the EU will need another "cash cow". I cannot improve the opposite.
So, let's wait and see whose belief will be confirmed by facts.

do not quite agree with this view about worrying about road deaths. yes that is important but with little known about the corona virus and its possible modes of transmission this is something to worry about. you do not know what an unknown enemy can do and corona virus, at this juncture, is an unknown enemy.
If an idiotic driver kills you or members of the family, isn't that "an unknown enemy" ? ????
You have to worry about both "enemies". Both pandemics are not related to each other. But the government should fight both separately and seriously.

Swiss-Cheese-like political and constitutional system in the USA is the main reason for this failure. Sorry, that I repeat it.
Must not talk again about the strange effect, that the POTUS does NOT need the majority of votes.
Completely idiotic is the system in this impeachment case.
The Senate, a political member in the system, decides about an impeachment. That means interests of special groups decide on a question/problem which has to be solved by jurists ... and not by influenced people who are afraid of losing their job in the next election, being harassed by the LOTUS or the REP-party ..... .
Jurist have the reputation to be neutral. That means they are the ones who are mostly near to the truth, and in this case to the facts.

The OP sounds as if he's bought the whole pandemic hysteria story root-and-branch. This coronavirus has a death rate so far of less than 3% or one-third of the SARS virus - which most people who caught it survived. It is no more fatal than catching the 'flu, and the same people are most at risk - the very young, the very old and those whose immune system is compromised because they are diabetic or HIV+ etc. As for the airport - how many unclean hands have handled his suitcase between him checking it in and him retrieving it? How many door handles - the taxi, his hotel room to name but two - will he be touching in the hour after he arrives? Get a grip
Panic because of the outbreake of a new virus.
It's understandable that people worry about that. The number of deaths and infections – especially in China - make many people feeling it could affect them tomorrow.
But inspite of the bad news there is no reason to panic. Just at now there is no real remedy against the virus. Common sense seems to be the best advice to fight the disease and the panic. I don't want to repeat them here, you read about this everywhere in the media, including TV.
Fact:
-
There are more than 3 – 5 million serious influenza infections in the world, resulting in ~650.000 dead people …. yearly. And this is a virus, too.
The common people don't worry about this disease. Now it's part of the daily life – despite the big numbers of sick and dead people. That the people worry about this new (maybe) pandemic is normal and okay, but overreaction not. Do the people wear face masks because of the much more dangerous influenza? Not! What do they do against influenza in the same way the OP is missing against the new virus? Nothing!
My father told me once: Nearly all people die in the bed, but ....... they go there every day, again and again.

Fortunately Boris didn't die in the ditch which the Kamikaze Brexiteers would have preferred him to do taking us all down with him. Instead we have a transitional year, so that's good instead of the no-deal Brexit brayed for so long by the forum Hard Brexiteers. The odds are that there will also be a trade deal at the end of this, so that all finally puts an end to the driving off the edge of a cliff which the loons would have voted for. Instead we get a compromise.
..."at the end of this" [year]. You are very, very optimistic.
I must admit that both sides will be interested to do it within the remaining 11 months. But the time for the trade deals with the other countries has taken much, much longer. Unless they copy one of those deals.
