  1. When I read about all these bureaucratic problems in the US election system - voting by mail, counting the votes, list of voters, .... the list goes on - I think of a third world state, although the US are able to send people to the moon. Worldclass in tech, bureaucracy of the third world!

    • Before opening the election I had to go to the central office to take off the list with all the voters of the subdistrict.
    • For many, many years I have been a leader in different election districts in Germany. The election started at 8:00 a.m. and endet at 6:00 p.m. There have been many rules to be respected.
    • At starting and ending all 7 members of the election board had to be present.
    • Of the 7 members there had to be at least 2 from different parties, reducing the fraud possibility
    • During the election time 3 people had to be present at least, especially when some went home for a lunch.
    • the present members had to support and to take care for disabled people.
    • The leader of the election bord and during his absence his deputy took care that every ballot was put into the voting box.
    • There was a list of all voters of the election district. No one had to ask for the right to vote, if a German citizen, not the same as in the USA. Every voter had to show her/his election voting card sent from the city office to his home. No card, had at least to show her/his passport. Postal voters have been marked in the list, so that they couldn't vote a second time.
    • At 6 p.m. the ballot box was opened and 6 members sorted the ballots out depending on the different parties. After that the ballots for each party have been counted and later controlled by another group.
    • Then I wrote the vote numbers of each party in a liste. The number of voters in the ballot list had to equal all the party voting numbers.
    • When okay, all members of the voting board could go home and I telephoned the results to the (central) voting board. After that I took all the documents and the list to this office.
    • There never haven't been long waiting lines for the voters. Maybe the US districts are to greedy to build more voting boards.

In most cases these results have been delivered between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. Between 10 and 11 p.m. the central state delivered the party results to the medias.

The post votings have been noticed in every district election list. Therefore no double voting possible and no fraud. To be counted all letters with the voting paper and some special documents had to stay at least at 6 p.m. in the central office of the election district. That's the reason no real problems with postal voting in Germany.

The man with the yellow implanted hair will never understand this. A brain surgery would have been more urgent!

  2. Even our dog wouldn't like to eate this shxt, because our "cooking-boss" serves us daily an excellent and healthy food, rich of vitamines and low fat.

Why is it that there are so many overweight individuals especially in the Western countries? From eating unhealthy and poor quality food.

  3. @Pib, thank you very much for your table.

But i would like to add one important fact. There is a 1 working-day difference between a Master-Card and a Visa-Card.

    • the rate for the Mastercard is fixed/known 1 working day after your ATM-transaction. Result: you don't know the exact rate at the day of the transaction.
    • the rate for the Visa-Card is fixed just after midnight - at New York time of the day of the (ATM) transaction). Result: you know already the exact Visa exchange rate in advance. You must only consider the time difference between NY and Thailand. I believe it's 11/12 hours, dpending on Summer or witer time. For my German Visa-Europe-Card the € --> THB Visa-rate of the day is available until 5 p.m. now in the "summer"time. In the winter-time until 6 p.m.

It is indeed a Sad Event no Question, so is from what i read here is Hanging the Driver without  knowing the facts.

Nearly all (the other) commentators presume

    • all Thai (minibus) drivers are driving like idiots !
    • (only) Thai drivers behave like this, the falangs never make driving mistakes!.
    • the driver was the the only culprit - without knowing the details !

Maybe it's their experience. My own experience over 15 years with minibuses from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son on the N 1095, they are driving excellently; never involved in an accident. Maybe 1 or 2 times the driver shouldn't have overtaken.

When I see the traffic here on the N 1995 I cannot find any difference between young Thai and falang idiots racing with their motorbikes through the village in a high speed. They would like to impress the village people with the noisy gears of their bikes. A difference between falng and Thai drivers? Not at all beside the fact, that there are reponsible drivers on both sides. .

In our mountain area with many, many curves on the N 1095-road the public minibuses (Prempracha) drive only at daylight (with 1 exception). The bus drivers are driving only 1 minbus per day from CNX to MHS or vice versa, have 3 or 4 stops of 10 to 15 minutes. So they are relaxed after 6 to 7 hours tour and have enough time for sleeping.

But I hear and read different things about minibus companies in big cities like BKK. Sometimes they don't give them enough time for recreation between 2 driving jobs. That's specifically dangerous for driving jobs at night.  Who is the culprit now - the driver or the minibus-owner ?

He said on Twitter that he had been to Chiang Mai and found there to be virtually no Chinese tourists, just farangs. He said that

90% of Thais in the northern city were wearing masks but not a single "farang" was wearing one.

Send him to primary school again to learn about   %   .

But I'm afraid even this wouldn't work.

Another idea: send him to the USA, he would be an "outstanding" adviser for Trump, concerning facts !!!

And back at you, the EU are looking to replace the British cash cow and good luck with that.:cheesy:

The basic element of politics is BELIEF.

That means you can believe that there is a second universe, but you cannot improve it. You cannot improve that the EU will need another "cash cow". I cannot improve the opposite.

So, let's wait and see whose belief will be confirmed by facts.
