  1. because the way we do it keeps it simple and liquid.
  2. Just to be clear: “tyre” was the original spelling – arriving in the late 15th century and meaning the “iron plates forming a rim of a carriage wheel.” The word is likely linked as a shortened form of “attire” – because it “dressed the wheel”. At the time, there was already a more direct noun “tire” – meaning “dress or covering”. Also, the yawny verb “tire” had turned up about a hundred years earlier. So, to avoid confusion, “tyre” was chosen. By the time America was springing into life around the 17th and 18th centuries, that original “tire” noun (“dress or covering”) had faded away and the spelling had switched worldwide to “tire” for the wheel rims. It was actually the British who decided to change their spelling BACK to “tyre” in the 1800s. The Americans, who were all about simplifying things at the time, weren’t too keen on the idea, so kept with “tire” for all meanings. If you’re in Canada or USA, “tire” is almost universally used. Meanwhile, Britain and the rest of the English speaking world (including Australia) haven’t tired of using “tyre” – however it’s not as clear cut, with “tire” making serious inroads in recent decades. So, I can clearly state the many of us tire of these tired attempts at insisting that the only true, correct spellings MUST come from the only country whipped in a war by the French. Adieu
  3. Geez that's fugly - Do you have a "before" picture? Like to see what it looked like before you had it screwed up.
  4. Jump on your ladies, plant the seed and in a few weeks, milk away.
  5. All I know is years ago the wife talked me into keeping liquid "swap funds" in both Thailand and the US. When the baht goes up we send USD to Thailand and when the baht goes down we send THB to the states. We've made around 700,000 - 800,000 baht so far (sorry, we're not rich so the trades are around $5,000-$10,000 but it's still free money) Our US bank doesn't charge a bank to bank fee and BKK bank only charges a couple hundred baht.
  6. Better to just cut it off to be safe. It'll pay for itself over time as your socks will last twice as long.
  7. You better strap on a catheter if you're bringing 3 coffees as peeing in line isn't allowed. Wonder if they'd bring back the 'ol British royalty tradition of hiring someone for that job. "Oh Piss Boy" ????
  8. Have 6-10 beers with a shot each at the airport in BKK - then when they refuse to let you board you won't have to make lame excuses in the UK. You seem to be on here looking for permission and absolution for having no balls. Have a good life.
  9. must be a freakin LONG leash if it allows the dog to be at your house under the trap door AND on the yellow brick road to OZ at the same time. ????
  10. still curious about this part. If you've been in Thailand for nine years, why are you filing for US tax refunds? Since when do you need to show an ID to receive a refund? Those are through direct deposit or a mailed check.
  11. pack it in suitcases and abscond across the Cambodian border in the middle of the night - mention you're friends with Ying Luk to get the special rate.
  12. get her to rub 1 out for you in the morning and see if the feeling returns - it won't hurt you unless she loses her grip and punches you in the boys repeatedly. Try a chiropractor - made need an adjustment and a new pillow.
  13. wouldn't that make the trap door ineffective if you took the dog?

  15. Reading through these posts and descriptions defending food delivery; "Too hot, high pollution, bad traffic, crowds, filthy streets..." makes me wonder just how horrible it must have been back home for this to have been a consciously made upgrade in your lives. For the OP - If you've a mind to sit and think for a moment, pretty much NONE of these delivery services were even in existence precovid. Basically the only food delivery was from the bigger fast food chains. Once covid hit and the world shutdown, restaurant owners needed to find a way to adapt to survive or go out of business. This brought about the new app services of Grab, Food Panda, etc. staffed by people willing to "risk their lives" so the world could eat and NOT be restricted to a steady diet of "fast food". As a result, many people were not forced out of business, many people did NOT lose their jobs because no one was allowed to go out AND it increased exposure to many restaurants people had never patronized before. As with most things you are forced to do, people got used to ordering delivered food from a vastly expanded menu of choices. Many still do because of laziness, convenience or just new exposure to variety. Try and keep this in mind the next time you're whining about waiting an extra few minutes to mac on your chicken leg or burger with extra cheese. These drivers and apps kept that business open so you could.
  16. Isn't this the premise on which Godzilla is based? ????
  17. I'm there right now. Wanna see me pee an icicle? ????
  18. More or less - I transferred to what was known as a "Cooperative Learning Center" where you weren't restricted by the teachers and could study at your own pace. Finished high school at 14. School was boring but the world revolved around "Peace, Love, Dope" at the time. ????
  19. So, can you give up what others deem inappropriate or unhealthy? I stopped doing what others told me to do when I was around 10. Mostly because the people telling me were miserable, unhappy SOBs and I didn't want to turn out like any of them.
  20. Water has no color, only the things in it do. There were no environmental studies "10s of thousands of years ago" so it's all best guess. Alien mind control affects people differently much like "the force" has more influence on the weak-minded. "You don't want to post your opinion here. You want to go home and rethink your life"
  21. In that case... Have the gf get a few poloroids standing over your decapitated body with a smoking gun and large knife. Make sure your passport is visible. ????
  22. Since the question was asked twice w/o response, allow me: Manafort was charged with various financial crimes including tax evasion, bank fraud, and money laundering. There were 18 criminal charges including 5 falsifications of income tax returns, 4 failures to file foreign bank account reports, 4 counts of bank fraud, and 5 counts of bank fraud conspiracy. He was also put in prison for 9 months before being convicted - even Bernie Madoff walked around free before and during his trial but he had a different boss.
