  1. I was "farmed out" by the school I taught at to another school 2 days a week. I still received my full salary from my school but understood they also received some funding from the second school. It was my understanding that the law was changed so that as long as you were being paid by school "A" they could "farm you out" to another school as long as you didn't get 2 salaries.
  2. Look around Victory Monument and just follow the "Lines" out from there in the direction you work at.
  3. The Bible says "...Ashes to ashes, dust to dust..." so it would seem cremation kind of speeds that along. As humans we tend to think about things in a different perspective than the "Hereafter" beings. A man asked God "How much is a million dollars to you?" and God replied "Just a penny." The man then asked God "How long is a million years to you?" and God replied "A second." Then the man asked God "Can I have a million dollars?" and God replied "Sure, just a second.".
  4. Good to know I'm not alone in my youth experience: https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra-Om7UMSJc
  5. OP - Is BKK your only option? My dad lives near White Rock (<-name?) near Rayong right across from the beach in a 2bdrm condo/apartment. It's around 125sqm (?) and pays about 10k. He bought an electric cart with a 50-60km range per charge for around 20k. If BKK is your only choice, a similar cart might be the way to go for rolling around instead of walking.
  6. This should clear things up - made before hippies or social groups or even the internet - just government and science at it's best:
  7. Just show up - stay 30 days - visit Laos for a week - come back - stay 30 days and go home.
  8. For the hotel, your wife can use hers to check in - the airport?? you may have to hire a driver and car if not.
  9. Have you thought about hiring 15 local villagers with large umbrellas? ????
  10. How old are you? I ask because there's a nice retirement community on the outskirts of Chiang Mai that you could rent from (if you know your approx date of arrival) that is 100% full service including rides around town. The CM residents on here probably know the name off the top of their head. You could book them for a couple of months.
  11. My 1/2, step, adopted brother is full Thai. My dad married his mother and adopted him. They moved back to the states. He joined the marines then took his college benefits and studied engineering and now works for NASA. (He was part of the design crew for the Mars rover). He wouldn't go back to Thailand if you paid him. ETA: He's not mixed race, just mixed cultural upbringing - seems Thailand appeals to the old with money and not so much the young.
  12. TT&T and TOT own most of the high speed rights in BKK. The True store people probably just sell service w/o ever checking if it's possible. Many condos don't want dishes planted on their property as it detracts from the look. As stated many times, just check with the condo before ordering anything. We ordered TT&T and had service the same day.
  13. Why don't a couple of you Brits volunteer to go down to the beach, drink a beer and have a pee so they could authorize a "crackdown"? Can't justify the funds for only Thais - No photo op.
  14. I use my mouth - does everything you mention and cost nothing. Only drawback is you need to wait till the next morning for the "smoothie" to come out. ????
  15. People are more excited at night because the bargirls sleep until noon. ????
  16. I would work on getting everything out of the US and into Thailand or 1 of the offshore banks while you can. Those morons in DC are getting the IRS to track transactions above $600 and another moron is pushing for a 59% "Death Tax" to override current inheritance laws (not taxed below $1.2m or some such) If 1 of your close trusted friends is a single female, maybe marry her if you think she'll outlast you.
  17. Tell them Thailand has Bob, Sticky Rice Balls, a Big Bird, a Doctor that prescribes cures for visa issues and a Cat named Sheryl that gives good medical advice, smile and walk away leaving them to speculate.
  18. From the title I thought it was going to be about keeping your winky up to the task so was going to suggest bigger sticks and stronger rubber bands. ????
  19. Can the 3m thb be in 3 accounts either at 3 different banks or even the same bank to avoid being over the protection limit?
  20. 1/2 the time it's the same driver - they just switch jackets depending on where they get the order from.
  21. During and after World War II, ships in the CV series were frequently given modified designations, including CVA (attack aircraft carrier), CVAN (nuclear-powered attack aircraft carrier) Ships built after 1975 were all nuclear. Mine was CVA-61. In Mid-December 1992, Ranger was relieved by Kitty Hawk and began her last journey home to San Diego. Ranger and her numerous air wings earned 13 battle stars for service in the Vietnam War. She was decommissioned on July 10, 1993, and is currently at the Naval Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility, Bremerton, Washington. Beyond that, I couldn't really shive a git what makes sense to you. Good day.
  22. I was cruising the world on the last atomic powered aircraft carrier and getting paid for my travels. Black History had been made clearer by the lingering memories of "Roots" British and European sailing history and their interactions with the Japanese were cleared up by "Shogun" Tom Cruise was still a kid dancing in his underwear and paying for sex instead of an international spy. All the gays knew what sex they were (and there were still only 2 genders) and they all lived in San Francisco (know then w/o repercussion as "The Gay Bay") Dirty Harry was still wiping out crime but had to take on his first female partner. (who went bra-less to show her woman power) In Christianity, the rainbow was associated with God's protection, as it is described in the Book of Genesis (9:11–17) as a sign of the covenant between God and man. Now it's a sign of the conflict of the 0.001%'s confusion in their minds and bodies and God help you if you say any different publicly. Now I sit at my computer reading TV. I collect Social Security and have a tough time staying up past 9pm. I choose the 80s in this search for knowledge.
  23. Those damn Arabs. Give 'em a bit of sand and a camel(cycle) and they just can't stay still.
  24. I would suggest also you search for the PI Teachers group page on Facebook as they may have additional info for you.
