  1. A friend of mine here in Thailand got Shingles and strongly advised me to get the vaccine because of the pain he suffered with it. I checked with RAM hospital here in Chiang Mai, 6000baht per dose. I was heading back to Australia for a visit soon after so did some research and found as a pensioner I could get them free, which I did.
  2. I use coins.co.th but only have a limited number of coins but I just checked and have USDT. I have used them a lot and found them good. They have just opened an Australia site and have signed up and been verified but not used that site as yet.
  3. Actually 45 days prior it can be done.
  4. Did mine 30th December and returned 3rd January which was a Saturday after 2 holidays. I guess someone working from home.
  5. Be careful buying Cialis online or street vendor. I once ordered from an online pharmacy in Pattaya which was much cheaper than a regular pharmacy her in Chiang Mai. I had seen an article fro the Australian Therapeutic Drugs and it described details of fake Cialis. When my parcel arrived details matched so I returned them. If you wish to have a look if you have "fake" Cialis you can here. https://www.tga.gov.au/safety/safety-monitoring-and-information/safety-alerts/counterfeit-cialis-20mg-tablets
  6. It used to be like that when I first came here (12 years) but no good anymore.
  7. I guess some people cant read past title. I guess seeing as in Thailand Travel forum and Thai mentioned twice in post I would assume about Thailand.
  8. Post is about pricing in Thailand.
  9. What most people don't realise, and don't need to know is that SWIFT is a messaging service not a money transfer. He is result of a Google search. SWIFT itself is a messaging network and does not hold funds or manage accountson behalf of customers. The prefunding of transactions happens within the individual banks that use the network. How Prefunding Works in the SWIFT System The prefunding process relies on a system called correspondent banking, which requires banks to maintain accounts with each other in different countries and currencies: Nostro Accounts: A bank holds funds in a foreign currency account at another bank in that foreign country (e.g., a US bank holding Euros in an account at a German bank). Prefunding Requirement: To facilitate a SWIFT payment, the sending bank must have sufficient funds (liquidity) already available in the relevant nostro account (or access to a line of credit) at the intermediary or recipient bank to cover the transaction. No Central Fund: There is no single, centralized pool of money that is "prefunded for all SWIFT transactions." The amount of prefunded capital is the aggregate of all the funds banks globally have locked in these various correspondent accounts to ensure smooth daily operations. Estimated Capital The exact total amount of money locked in these nostro accounts globally is difficult to quantify precisely and varies depending on daily transaction volumes and market conditions. However, estimates have suggested that the total value of capital tied up in these accounts for global cross-border payments can amount to trillions of dollars. SWIFT's Role SWIFT's role is to provide the secure, standardized financial messages (like the MT103 message type) that instruct banks to debit and credit these prefunded accounts. The actual movement of money occurs between the banks' internal accounts, not through SWIFT's infrastructure itself. SWIFT has introduced initiatives like SWIFT gpi (Global Payments Innovation) which improve the speed and transparency of these existing payment systems, addressing some of the inefficiencies of traditional correspondent banking.
  10. I use eucalyptus oil. Dissolves glue and smells nice.
  11. Yep it was. Another farang and myself showed our Thai drivers licences. Only Thai ID accepted. I said this is a Thai ID and I used as IF for flying here. Just brushed me off. After visiting the pool I regretted paying the price as it was just not worth it. Never recommend it to anyone.
  12. I know this topic is commented on a lot. After an experience this week I decided to ask what is the highest ratio of Thai to Farang pricing that you have encountered? A few of us visited a tourist attraction in Krabi province. Thai entry was 30baht and Farang price 400. Thats over 13 times. Ok let the "if you cant afford it or whatever" comments begin.
  13. I use the monthly transfer using Wise but I select i want 65K so I get correct amount and no issues. I used to get 33baht/$1aud when I first came here 12 years ago but now around 21/1. Did get as low as 18/1.
  14. I had that happen the renewal prior to last one. I use an agent and he said I could go another path and would cost an extra $25000 baht. I assumed this was using another agent to deposit money short time so I said no and that I would just leave Thailand and not bother coming back. So he said let me check with immigration again. Came back with a "special processing fee" by immigration of 15,000 baht. Paid and renewed ok. TiT PS. It was at Chiang Mai immigration.
  15. I recently received a message, and have received before, that my Bangkok Bank balance was below 500 Baht that my balance is below the threshold.....
  16. Bankwest, a subsidiary to the Commonwealth Bank in Australia, has closed all physical branches and now operates as a digital bank. I guess the Commonwealth Bank, the biggest in Australia, is using Bankwest as a trial.
  17. I noticed awhile ago that, at least in Chiang Mai, Atms i have used have started disappearing especially at 711s.
  18. Not possible if we have gone to a cashless society as Conno said.
  19. Just turned 70. About 95kg. One doctor tells me to get down to 80kg. Another tells me not to walk or stand too much due to knees nearly worn out. He said swim or cycle. Winter in Chiang Mai so a bit cold, need to find heated pool. Cycle? No thanks in CM. I don't eat a lot just the wrong foods.
  20. Exactly. Except i rather no balls.🤪
  21. I donate to the girls personally.
  22. I did not actually complain, I just mentioned it had just happened and I don't need to tell total strangers why I do some things. Its ok I don't need a work around as someone has already mentioned it in the posts.
  23. Possibly. The iOS BBL app still sends a "screenshot" of the transaction to my photos app on the phone. Just checked the BBL app and its called an e-slip which I have set to auto send to my photos app.
