  1. Exactly why I do not recommend Thai insurers.
  2. Next time if Meditide does not have it try Medisafe
  3. It is not available under yhat brand name here. Foster brand is same thing. In Pattaya I would try Fascino's. In Bangkok any large Thai pharmacy.
  4. Dengue vaccine is recommended only for children aged 9-16 with lab confirmed prior dengue infection. Given to prople who never had dengue before it actually increases risk of severe dengue. https://www.cdc.gov/dengue/vaccine/index.html
  5. If you have no contraindications, taking an NSAID such as ibuprofen will not only reduce pain by hasten healing by addressing inflammation Be sure to take with food Do not take if you have kidney or liver disease, ulcers, history of ulcers/gastritis or are on anticoagulants Cold pack is helpful. Not heat. Applying strap-like elbow splint like this may help https://www.lazada.co.th/products/futuro-tennis-elbow-support-45975-1-i258130301-s398062147.html?clickTrackInfo=query%3Atennis%2Belbow%2Bstrap%3Bnid%3A258130301%3Bsrc%3ALazadaMainSrp%3Brn%3Ad1364e149bea79b2cea979453f2bcff6%3Bregion%3Ath%3Bsku%3A258130301_TH%3Bprice%3A100059500%3Bclient%3Adesktop%3Bsupplier_id%3A100059500%3Basc_category_id%3A12313%3Bitem_id%3A258130301%3Bsku_id%3A398062147%3Bshop_id%3A6442&fastshipping=0&freeshipping=0&fs_ab=1&fuse_fs=0&lang=en&location=Bangkok&price=342&priceCompare=&ratingscore=4.833333333333333&request_id=d1364e149bea79b2cea979453f2bcff6&review=30&sale=185&search=1&source=search&spm=a2o4m.store_product.list.3&stock=1 Do not bowl again or do other things involving repetitive use of that arm until it has fully resolved.
  6. Blood pressure naturally shoots up on exertion or any sort of stress. Even a sneeze or cough will cause a momentary (and very high) rise. These changes mainly occur in the top number (systolic). Indeed, whenever you see a very elevated systolic with a normal or near normal diastolic it is a good indication that the person is experiencing a temporary stressor of some sort - pain, anxiety, exertion etc. BP should always be measured at complete rest.
  7. Thai health providers are several decades behind the times on this and still tell people anything below 140/90 is fine. It is not. https://www.health.harvard.edu/heart-health/reading-the-new-blood-pressure-guidelines
  8. 839 baht for Imojev brand at Medconsult clinic which will be much less crowded. https://www.medconsultasia.com/vaccinations/ A series of 2 vaccines is needed, a month apart. I am nto certain if the above price is for each dose or the 2 doses.
  9. Again, there are many other possible causes for this other than low testosterone. Hypothyroid, anemia, B12 deficiency to name but a few.
  10. Actually a BP of 135/84 is not optimally controlled but borderline hypertensive. You might want to reconsider either the dose of irbesartan or other measures such as weight loss. Exercise will likley help as well. There is no reason why a proper program of exercise should cause bleeding in the muscles or anywhere else. Build up gradually of course.
  11. TRT will help only to the extent that low T is the problem. There are many other possible causes both physical and pyschological. Have you had a comprehensive check up recently? If not start there and make sure it includes in addition to standard tests - thyroid panel (TSH, free T3/T4) - Total and free testosterone -PSA If you have had a recent check up but it did not include the above tests then get just those tests done.
  12. Please keep it civil. All posts with insults/name calling have been removed. Meat-eating, vegetarian and vegan diets can all be healthy or unhealthy depending on how you do them.
  13. It is now known that glucose and lipid metabolism are closely connected and that avoiding processed carbs is as or more important than reducing fat intake.
  14. Thanks for the update. We are all wishing you well
  15. A pot in poor taste with speculation and anti-vaccine nonsense has been removed. This is a thread for condolences. NOT the place for personal agendas or vaccien debates ????
  16. I sm shocked and saddened to hear this. Quite a loss I hope her husband has/receives a lot of emotional support to help him through this. Nancy would want that.
  17. There are small hand held machines you can buy to test your blood sugar at home. Diabetics use them. Pharmacies selll them and will usually teach you how to use. But with an HB1Ac below 6 I don't think you need it now. Just recheck Hb1Ac annually. You can also get home BP monitor. Omton brand is good. The ones that wrap around upper arm not the ones that go on the wrist. Yes, your anxiety caused a temorary rise in blood pessure snd blood sugar. Not at all unusual.
  18. Even then not always. Not unusual for a pension or equivalent to either not be pslaid monthly (some are quarterly) or to come a few days early or late if a home country holiday occurs near usual payment date...leading to 2 payments in one month and none in another. Modlet IOs will refuse to accept that even though 12 payments in a year spaced out at 28- 30 day intevals. Has to be a transfer within every single calendar month.
  19. SOme people will always have a transient rise on FBS when done in a lab or hospital. The body releases glucose in response to stress. In other words there is a blood sugar equivslent to the well known BP "white coat syndrome". My FBS drawn in a lab is always in the 100-110 pre diabetic range. Which motivated me to get a home glucose monitor. Lo and behold, testing at home my FBS is always under 100, usuallyunder 90. And my Hb1Ac is always normal range. In other words the stress of a blood draw by someone else raises my sugar by 10-15 points. (I am a difficult blood draw so naturally have come to dread what may be multiple painful attempts to get the blood). For OP , he was nervous about the check up to begin with.
  20. All that seems normal. where does this ferritin 25 come from?
  21. At that amount I'd look into Dee Money or Wise.
  22. It is actually possible to do yourself at the land office without a lawyer (I have one) but as all the documents are in Thai good to have someone you trust involved who is bilingual snd knows the law. Lawyer fee for this should not be too much as it is straightfoward. But of course wife has to fully agree. And as I said before, highly advisable for her to tell the family what she is doing and why now, as if it comes as a surprise to them after she is gone reactions will be worse...and the less than savoury elements may have already developed expectations they will be loathe at that point to give up. Psychologically, learning of your mother's apparent intent after she is gone is not as persuasive as having heard it from her face to face while alive. Daughter will be less amenable to any nefarious urgings from boyfriend if she heard it from Mom directly and Mom got her to promise to respect her wishes.
  23. It is required when extending from an O-A visa for reason of retirement, a change brought in a couple of years which csused no small amount of consternation and likely this is what your informant heard about or encountered. It is not required to apply for or extend a non-O visa in-country.
  24. And meanwhile the rest of us (actually the majority ... your circle of friends notwithstsnding) are having to deal with byzantine rules about spending the money we do have incountry. Rules made up because it came to the attention of the powers that be, that there are foreign retirees living here who have trouble paying their bills. Further restricting retirees from accessing their money as an ostensible solution to this is bizarre logic to say the least...but that is what happens when there is no political will tp address the actual cause.
