  1. The Albemed is albendaxole and treats several types of worms. However these do not usually cause diarrhea. Parasites that commonly cause diarrhea include things like giardia...but the treatment (flagyl) Is difficult to tolerate (nausea etc) so not a great idea to treat for it without a positive stool test. Bioflor might help, can't hurt. I have no idea why nexium. Who diagnosed your UC, on what basis and when?
  2. Off-topic, trolling and in some cases flaming posts have been removed along with replies to them. Thread is closed.
  3. I think he does nto know, only that he contacted AIS and the hospital somehow got paid. So far no one with this insurance has been able to say who actually underwrites the policy or who pays out under it. In fact I don't think we have ever seen any policy documents described, at least policy documents of the type insurers normally provide. Which is why I said previously "or name for multiple policies, perhaps with different insurers". Because it is totally unclear how this scheme actually operates. Only that so far, people with it have gotten their hospitalizations somehow reimbursed.
  4. Wait and ask the doctor. Possible that you misunderstood him and he just meant no other new problem was seen, nto that no sign of UC was seen. (But if really no sign of UC then you really need to consult the Bkk Dr I mentioned). Nexium is not a probiotic. It is a PPI which decreases acidity in the stomach. Won't do anything for diarrhea and I am not sure why prescribed unless GP was concerned that the parasite medication would irritate lining of the stomach. Exactly what parasite medication where you given?
  5. Is that reply from Medsafe or Meditide? You should certainly not send Medsafe messages about their competitor. They are touchy enough as it is. Nothing at all wrong with Medtide or their products, go ahead and order from them. Did Medsafe they tell you what brand this was at 100 tabs of 990 baht? And what brand do you get locally? Price differences this wide must reflect different brands Re the selling only 2 boxes, I had issues with them in the past ordering large quantities as they accused me, in effect, of being a reseller (which I most definitely am not!) With some persistance I was finally able to get the large order through (a year's supply of several meds). Of course in your case with the Gabapentin, you are on a larger dose than most people so they might think 2 boxes was already a many months supply. If you have a copy of doctor's note saying dose of 3,600 mg it may help.
  6. This is a general function of a travel assistance provider and not limited to any specific type of insurance. There are several similiar companies who will do the same thing once provided with the insurance details. It this does not tell you where the WRLife insurance policy comes from/who issues and underwrites it. It is most unusual that WRLife documents give the name of a travel assistance company as if it were their own name (ref the document you provided on how to make a claim). The normal process would be to list the actual insurer details. Clients who want to, can then use a travel assistance company if desired.
  7. This lists the company Assist International Services, which is neither an insurer nor a broker but a "travel assistance service provider" . It is unclear if Assist International is simply serving as a management agent/claims facilitator of WRLife Insurance or if WRLife insurance is a policy (or name for multiple policies, perhaps with different insurers) that Assist International somehow sells despite being neither a licensed insurance broker nor an insurance company.
  8. As far as I and others have been able to determine, WRLife Thailand is nto registered with the Thailand OIC, at least not under that name.
  9. You need to verify with the Sripgat specialust: did endoscopy show no sign of ulcerative colitis? If so you need to see a UC specialist as may have bern misdiagnosed. Salofalk can cause severe diarrhea as a dide effect so if that dose change preceded the problem -- or the problem got worse after dose increased - this could be the culprit.
  10. Should have led with that, as UC flare up could be the culprit. Though I am puzzled by your statement that the colonoscopy "found nothing wrong" -- UC should be evident on colonscopy and if it was not then that diagnosis may be in question. UC is very rare in Thais so few doctors here have much expertise in treating it. Unfortunately I do not know of a single one in Chiang Mai. In Bangkok, this doctor seems the most experienced: Assoc.Prof. Sathaporn Manatsathit https://zeekdoc.com/en/doctor/assoc-prof-sathaporn-manatsathit-252?clinic_id=98 can be seen at https://www.vichaiyut.com/en/profile_doctor/dr-sathaporn-manatsathit/ or https://chaophrayahospital.com/?doctors=sathaporn-manatsathit-md or Siriraj Hospital - he is nto listed on their private wing web site but you could call and ask https://www.siphhospital.com/en You should definitely consult him (especially given what is now doubt re accuracy of your UC diagnosis) but I can appreciate right now would be difficult with the uncontrolled diarrhea. in the interim best option in CM appears to be: https://sriphat.med.cmu.ac.th/en/doctor/detail/63 Who is there tomorrow By the way, what medications are you on and have there been any recent changes i nthese (drug or dose)?
  11. They are indeed touchy, I have had issues with them like this as well. Best to never question a price. Just thank them for info and place order if desired. Though it may be worth verifying brand name and quantity first. As glipized is a misspelling I suspect they misunderstood and thought you mean Glimepiride. Which comes in boxes of 100 and indeed costs over 900 baht. Give Medisafe a few days rest and try again but without any discussion, just request to order the Gabapentin. Worst case, have someone else do it for you via a different facebook account. But I think if you let a few dfays pass and then just message a request to order the gabapentin it will go through OK. You can get glipizide 5 mg 30 tabs in a box for B 190 a box here https://medtide.com/product-tag/glipizide/
  12. Thanks but that just describes how to set notifications. I have already done that. I have also already done you tube and google searches. No help there that I could find. Any one else?
  13. Sounds likje she had at least triple therapy but no repeat testing
  14. It may be due to what they know is low level of immunity in their population. The vaccines they used are of (to be charitable) limited benefit even for the early strains and none of the current strains, and their tight control measures meant that not many people have had COVID itself yet. By contrast in most of the world, the combination of (more effective) vaccination and natural infection has led to majority of the population having at least some cellular immunity. Or perhaps it is just some bizarre political reason.
  15. The only control trial I have seen of Favipiravir did nto show any difference in clinical outcome. It is available free of charge to Thai nationals. Have to get from a government hospital. Govt facilities also often dispense a Thai herbal treatment. Alon gwith the usual collection of poly pharmacy (paracetomol, vitamins, decongestant/amntihistamione). Molnupiravir is available here and was shown to reduce duration of infection with prior variants, unclear if it works as well with the current variants which are in any case mild. I am not sure under what if any criteria Thai government facilities use it. Note that it is recommended only for patients with the highest risk of hospitalization e.g. elderly or with other chronic disease. No treatment other than symnptomatic treatment (paracetomol etc) is indicated for people with mild to moderate COVID who are not in these high risk groups. This is true even in countries with Paxlovid available, it has shown no advantage when used for non-high risk groups (because the risk of hospitalization or death is already so low otherwise). That said, I would personally take redoxan (Vitamin C with zinc, can be gotten anywhere). Can't hurt anbd may help, in general zoinc shortens the severity and duration of respiratory infections.
  16. Yes, Spedra is the name but it is not registered for use in Thailand yet
  17. Where in the hospital did you go? Usually need to go to Medical records dept or imaging dept. Was this govt hospital or private?
  18. Which antibiotic to use for pneumonia depends entirely on what organism is responsible. Note that not all pneumonia is vactrrial, and viral pneumonias will not respond to antibiotics. You are already on antibiotics that cover the most common causative bacteria including mycoplasma Augmentin is unlikely to be an improvement. I suggest you repeat the COVID test and continue the current meds until you are able to see doctor again. This is assuming you are feeling better just have linering low grade fever. If acutely ill or short of breath don't wait for your prior doctor, go straight to hospital ER.
  19. There is no brand of it registered for use in Thailsnd.
  20. Really hope someone has a solution to this as I have slready tried the usual ones. I recently upgraded to a Samsung A33 from a J7. Since doing so I find that when someone calls me on Messenger, it rings but no message appears and, in Messenger, it does not show who is callling. So mo wsy to answer the call. And my family members and work colleagues use Messenger a lot. Notifications are all set on, that is not the reason. I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing Messenger Also already tried restarting the phone.
  21. It won't do any harm. But every 3 months is excessive. After 6 months more like it. And more important for those in high risk groups or about to be in high risk situation than for others. The new generation of vaccines (not yet available in Thailand) are more helpful than the prior ones at this point.
  22. There are many brands of hydrocortisone cream here (no gel). Hytison H-Cort HC 1% Efficort To name just a few Every pharmacy has it. Even more common are creams contaiining betamethasone which has same effect.
  23. Glad it helped. Do see a pain specialist at Khom Kaen univ hospital when you have a chance as addition of a tricylcic or other med may help.
  24. This hospital has considerabler experience with it and is not too expensive as private hospitals in Bangkok go. It is what I would recommend in Bangkok. In case you would be going to Chiang Mai then this is recommended https://www.legveinclinicthailand.com/en/about-dr-kittipan.html (this is why I asked where in Thailand)
  25. Efexor is imported brand. There is a less expensive local brand (Valosine). And tricyclics are very chesp. But do not add a medication without checking with dictor (preferrably pain Suggest you ask Medisafe re Gabapentin. Ask price for both 300 and 600 mg.
