I have found the yellow tabian ban (and pink ID card which can only be gotten if you have the tabian ban) invaluable. Used it at each extension of stay (both my own and household staff wjo are migrant workers), for driver's license, for new car registration, worker used it for DL and moto registration. Have also used it at bank, in applying for supermarket discount cards, and it has gotten me Thai price at a number of venues with fual pricing (YMMV on that one). Use it in dealings with Provincial tax office (to get tax refund on interest). And lastly was able to register for and get COVID vaccine when they first started giving them in 2021. It was months later before there were ways to register and get vaccine without a Thai ID card number. In fact, because I live in an area with almost no foreigners, I have been able to complete a number of transactions despite an initial "foreigner cannot" response. In other cases a very wary tense face asking for my passport rekaxed into smiles and relief when I offered the pink card. Likely would not happen in areas with many farang, but out in the boondocks they often do not know how to proceed without something to enter into a mandatory Thslai ID number field on the relevant form.

Not in most govt hospitals. Sounds like you stayed on one that reduced the nursing charge if you had an attendant with you -- or more likely levied a higher charge if you did not. In fact in many government hospitals they will not allow you to have a private room unless there is someone with you. Does not have to be a spouse, can be anyone.

Negative effects from extraction occur over many years as the alignment of all the teeth are affected. You won't notice anything in the short term.

@1happykamperRoot canal costs will depend on how many sessions needed and also where done -- upcountry dentists charge less. Mine have generally been about 10k in total (Bangkok). Costs for a crown vary greatly depending on crown material and not all crowns are equal. Roughly 10-20k depending on type of crown. The quote you received seems normal to me.

Cortisone injections can indeed over time weaken joint cartilege and tendons (anywhere in the body) and there are well known guidelines on how many injections how often are considered safe. Any orthopeduc specialist will know this. However nothing in OP's post suggests he has gotten multiple injections in the past year or so. HA injections helpful for some patients especially if osteoarthritis is the culprit. It will not help other conditions though. And if a lot of inflammation is present steroid injection (alone or on addition to HA) will be more helpful at least in the short term. Steroid and HA can be given together with synergistic effect. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8568987/ OP note that pain in shoulder can be due to issues in the cervical spine as well as issues in the shoulder. So cannot necessarily assume it relates to your past injury. .

Safe way to get from Siem Reap airport to the city?
Sheryl replied to coralia's topic in Cambodia General Chat
Not at all. The main danger in Cambodia is having things snatched by thieves on the street - cameras, phones etc, anything you may have out that someone can zoom by on a motorcycle and grab. -
If yo uare in Bangkok then as above, Rutnin. They will do a thorough eye exam.

There are supermarkets with western products though, if Phnom Penh is any guide, the selection may be less than it was pre-COVID (as western presence dramatically decreased during pandemic) Lucky Supermarket Angkor Market being the best ones to try There are also convenience stores/mini-marts You will have no problem finding butter Canned sardines and mackeral easy too but not in EVOO, doubt you will find that. Canned fish is mainly asian brands Not sure re corned beef And not sure if hard boiled eggs in convenience stores. Might be.

There is a taxicounter and there are also taxis waiting outside. No problem -
It sounds like OP was covered by Thai Social Security. To use it one must get care at your nominated hospital. And yes, care can include treatment of HIV. The hospital would not notify the Social Security Office of a patient's HIV diagnosis. And SSO would not care if they did. Neither the hospital nor the SSO would inform immigration. People with HIV are not legally barred from entering Thailand, or remsining in Thailand. HIV test is not required by law for a work prermit. However some employers, of their own accord, require an HIV test. And there is still a lot of stigma and ignorance surrounding HIV in Thailand.

GERD and side effects of certain medications are the most common causes.Psych meds in particular can cause this.

Anything with caffeine has a diuretic effect so easy to get dehydrated. The best fluids for dehydration are water + rehydration salts (packets are available everywhere including 7-11) - make sure not to under-dilute. Adding more water than required is fine but don't add less (wouldn't taste very good if you did anyhow) Equally good is green coconut water And the blenderized lemon and orange juice drinks Thai style are also pretty good as salt is added The point being to get not just water but also electrolytes A lot of people do a mix of plain water and water+ rehydration salts during the day.

That site lists only imported brands. There are locally made brands that cost substantially less. I doubt local brands would be more than your gabapentin. KKU would have them and so might Medisafe.
-
Use of addtionsl drugs, such as tricylics or venlafaxine might allow a lower dose of gabapentin with same of better results. And/or pregbalin might give more Relief. Some stidies have shown itis more effective than gabapentin in conyrolling pain of fiabetic neuropathy. There are down sides to taking gabapentin especially in such large dose. Inclufind tremor, increased bone loss with risk of fracture, visual problems and psychiatric conditions. Obviously when in severe pain, pain control comes first but if it were possible to get equivslalent psin control on lower dose of gaba or on another drug it would be better. I continue to suggest you see psin management specialist at KKU.

To be clear -- this was a multi-parametric scan or regular MRI? I would be very surprised if Bkk Hospital Korat had the machine for a multi-parametric MRI, only a handful of places in Bkk do. And it would certainly have cost more. Suspect you had a regular MRI.

If you look on Shoppee there are a number of suppliers listed But my experience with health products in general here is that there is a considerable time lag between product debut and being available in Thailand

Any travel assistance company cam only issue a GOP or other assurrance only after approval from the relevant insurance company. I doubt they fo this solely for WRLife clients.

Will not have been anyone with much experience (if any) in it - as mentioned it is rare in Thais. So the diagnosis and need for treatment is open to doubt. If recent colonoscopy finds no sign of UC you can probably exclude it. But discuss with doctor.

No, not the settings. And local shop beyond useless. As I could nto find solution I switched from Messenger Lite to Messenger app then deleted Messenger Lite. Seems to work better. I can only assume there is some incompatibility between Samsung A33 and Messenger Lite. Odd as I had no problem at all on prior Samsung phones. (J7, A3 - all fine)

OP is unlikely to come off it. Diabetic neuropathy is a long tetm condition Ditto the lady with post polio syndrome that I bought it for.
