As above. Not yet available in Thailand but other drugs with similar action are.

Exactly. Diet and exercise. For some people this will be enough, for others not. Do not hesitate to take prescribed medication if you fall into the latter group.

It is possible to get shingles more than once so yes, people who have had shingles before should get the vaccine.

Glad to hear it. Did they remove entire kidney or just the tumor?

I think it is that he couldn't find it, past tense. He mentiops that he has been suffering post-herpetic neuralgia now for 4 years. So got shingles before Shingrix was available here. For that matter it is still unavailable in most rural areas.

Tests for Heart, High blood pressure issues
Sheryl replied to Chadnik's topic in Health and Medicine
Angiogram is never indicated for routine screening in asymptomatic people. It is done only if other tests (or symptoms) indicate the likelihood of significant coronary artery disease. So no relevance to this thread. There are clear-cut indications for stent placement. Usually discovery of >70% blockage. It is not a matter of the hospital "liking" to add them, and the devices themselves are expensive for the hospital to buy. So naturally their insertion comes at an increased cost, this is not any sort of "padding" by the hospital. The ability of inserting a stent on the spot is a key reason for doing an angiogram (though not all angiograms will lead to stent placement). At the time of discussing an angiogram with an intervention cardiologist, should clearly ask about not just the costs of the procedure but the cost per stent if required. Usually this nformation is volunteered, but if not - -ask. -
You won't get Shingrix for under 5000 baht per injection anywhere. And yes, it is well worth it.

As above. There are a number of conditions that can be confused with genital warts. See a doctor.

Tests for Heart, High blood pressure issues

Fibroscan is not needed for fatty liver. Regular abdominal ultrasound will show that if desired. But if you are not overweight, your alcohol intake is as stated, and assuming liver enzymes (ALT/AST) come back normal I see no reason to get that done, either. Reverting to your prior list and question, different hospitals offer different test packages and it is always possible to add on additional tests. Some hospitals have specific heart packages; others have check up packages that include stress test. Fopr you, I suggest thios one, includes both EST and Calcium score https://www.bangkokhospital.com/en/package/tune-your-heart You'll need to add on the PSA and testosterone -

why a fibroscan?Do you have history of hepatitis or cirrhosis? -
the right exercises can indeed help, once an ortho has cleared you.

Excellent news! Thank you for the update. (10 cm is a large tumor indeed!!)

Hospital is nto important, doctor is. As previously mentioned, suggest this doctor at Bangkok Hosp https://www.bangkokhospital-chiangmai.com/en/doctor/dr-wittawat-rawiyotai-m-d/ Bring the blood test report with you. He will take your full history, do a physical exam and advise what if any further investigations he thinks are needed.

Have you had a recent check up that included lipid oanel and Hb1Ac? As if not, shoukd -- these being the midifiable risj factors. CAC will give you an idea of the current heakth of your coronary arteries and can be useful in decifing whether or not to treat mild dydlipedemia. Stress test gives very useful info on overall cardio fitness and how well your heart handles increas3d workliad. There are packages available that combine these with blood tests so please indicate if latter are needed. Also are you onanh meds, if so which? (Some would interfere with stress test) -
SSO covers the full cost of the delivery. Possibly the issue was plan for using a private channel i.e. specially chosen doctor etc. Call the SSO for full details. Call center is 1506. The maternity benefit is a single payment to the mother.

Should note that not all CTs are the same. Aside fro mwith or without contrast there are other special, complicated CT protocols for certain specific conditions.

Is it worth having one short sighted eye corrected?

OK now I follow you. Yes, for most people it would work and in fact that is what I did 25 years ago (actually in my case, myopia was so severe I had to correct both eyes but left one eye under-corrected i.e. still a bit short-sighted). Worked well and now aged over 70, I can still dispense with reading glasses for all but really small print A minority of people's brains don't adjust to this. Easy to find out in advance, just try a contact lens that corrects vision in one eye only and see how you do. -
Hands down, best place in Thailand for refractive surgery is https://www.trsclasik.com/en?gad_source=1 They do nothing but refractive surgery and were the first in Thailand to perform it.

Nobody needs (and no reputable doctor will do) an arthroscopy, or any other intervention other than rest, for new onset mild knee pain in the wake of over-exertion. Rest the knee, ice it, maybe take anti-inflammatory if you have no contraindications to it. If the pain becomes chronic then some investigations might be worth considering. Not now.

You need to think ahead to when you are older and loss of accommodation sets in. What gives ideal vision now, won't then - you'll be glad of that one short-sighted eye Also if only one eye is short-sighted, normally the brain will correct automatically (using one eye for distance and oen eye for near) so I am puzzled why you need glasses to watch TV
