  1. Mission Hospital is a non-profit private hospital not far from Bang Lampoo. https://www.mission-hospital.org/en/our-doctors.html#skin-dermatologist-doctors 2 dermatologists there. Skin clinics here are almost excludively vosmetic in orientation.
  2. @konaboythis is potentially a cardiac (heart) or vascular issue. Is it possible for you to go to Khon Kaen indtead? Best place for this in Issan is https://kku.ac.th/gateways-for/student/medical-services/queen-sirikit-heart-center If Khon Kaen is not possible then either the main government hospital in Korat (Maharat Nakorn Rachasima) or St Mary's hospital, latter is private. But Khon Kaen is best. Don't delay.
  3. No point in stressing, it will only make matters worse. Most people recover fully from shingles, and if you started the antiviral medication within 72 hours of the full rash appearing, that improves your odds. It is difficult to diagnose shingles before the full rash appears and indeed, pain that precedes the rash is often misdiagnosed, since it is also nerve pain. In fact when I had shingles about 10 years ago, I had what was thought to be pain from a back problem for about a week before hand. Only when the characteristic rash appeared was it apparent what was going on.
  4. If the pain is purely from the shingles then yes, it may resolve once the shingles resolves. Though in some cases shingles leads to chronic nerve pain. (The antiviral medicstion just prescribed will reduce that risk).
  5. Of course not. A human preparation, brand name Vermectin, can be bought at pharmacies.
  6. It is possible, yes From your films you do have degenerative changes in the cervical spine but so do many older people so possible it is not the cause of the recent pain. Or, the pain could be due to both. Personally I would continue both treatments prescribed. The meds the ortho doctor gave you will help the nerve pain of shingles as well.
  7. Ban Lamung is the main one. There are also severral military hospitals, Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital in Sattahip being the one most used by foreigners. Pattaya City Hospital is technically a government hospital but operated by Pattaya municipality not the Ministry of Public Health and very high pricing. Near Ban Saen is Burapha University Hospital, also government. https://buh.buu.ac.th/buh64/ There is a very, very large (regional level) government hospital in Chonburi town as well as a government cancer hospital.
  8. There is often a strong genetic component to elevated triglycerides.
  9. No I meant the Thai FDA since the question concerned Thsi lae. It requires a license ftom the Thai FDA to import pharmaceuticals by mail (and some reports duggest an increase in enforcing that). I strongly suspect same is required to export by mail.
  10. @Tiger1980 See https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5689148/ Good overview You should aggressively control LDL and (if applicable) blood glucose. If able to do this score should improve.
  11. Thtead closed, please foĺow in news forum.
  12. It requires an FDA license to bring pharmaceutical in by mail. I have not found anywhere the law on doing the reverse but good bet it likewise requires a license. Plenty of online sources of this and other drugs, suggest you let your friend use these instead.
  13. They will not let him leave until the bill has been paid OR a payment plan has been negotiated. Nor will they provide surgery or other additional expensive treatments if they know he cannot pay. He should ask to speak to someone high up in the finance office or hospital administration and negotiate a payment plan. Pay what he can now and sign a contract for monthly payments thereafter. Once this is done, switch to a government hospital. What sort of work was he doing? Unless teaching at a private school he should be covered under Thai Social Security at a specific hospital and first 72 hours of emergency care elsewhere would be covered. Also there should be some coverage under vehicle insurance or, if the vehicle was uninsured, there is a fund for that as well. It is small (I think just 30,000 baht per accident) but it is something. He can discuss this with the finance person. Do not delay as bills will continue to mount.
  14. That is a very high score and puts you at high risk of a cardiac event. I would hope that risk factors (LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, blood glucose and weight) are being aggressively controlled.
  15. No. Still approved for use in both Europe and US (with prescription) There have however been changes over the years in the approved infications
  16. Answer will be no. I have explored this many times. That AI "answer" just combined a listing of Thai banks with generic explanation of what POD designation is.
  17. I just completed this quiz. My Score 80/100 My Time 96 seconds
  18. The sort of drunk feeling may be exacerbated by the clonazepam which is also probably doing the least for your pain....and is habit-forming. Sounds like it was prescribed only if needed for sleep; if so you might try skipping it. Otherwise since the meds seem to be helping I'd stick with it for now. Now that doctor has confirmed compressed nerve in the cervical pine, I'd also buy cervical traction device online as mentioned in my prior post and use 2-3 times a day.
  19. Angiograms are invasive and not without risk, so usually only performed if uninvasive tests, or symptoms, indicate a likely problem.
  20. Any dermatologist will treat children.
  21. I am doubtful a doctor would agree to do an angiogram (invasive procedure with some risks) in an asymptomatic person unless other tests (EST, CT) indicated likely blicjage.
  22. Can you give an idea of exactly how expensive?
  23. why do you have a heart doctor? Are you symptomatic/do you have history of heart disease? As this might alter recommendation
  24. I would suggest: 1. Coronary Calcium CT 2. Exercise Stress Test The first is the best way to check for calcium deposits in the coronary arteries. The second will test your overall cardiac fitness and how well the heart performs under stress. I am assuming you have already had blood tests for risk factors (lipid panel, HB1Ac) and also that you are asymptomatic.
