  1. Thinking (correctly AFAIK) that future return flights booked from the UK would be cheaper than the other way around, last year I paid a bit extra for a one-way to London. I have had great deals since then by spending quite a bit of time online with the most popular booking/comparison sites Expedia etc as far as possible in advance (a few months) to get the cheapest return flights to BKK, either direct or 1-2 hour stopovers from either LHR, LGW or MAN near where I am based currently. I've saved hundreds of pounds and got just the right set of criteria (dep, arr, onward connection times) by doing this. I also looked at flying first to one of the European hubs and getting a BKK flight from there. Departing from UK appears to be much cheaper. It's all about supply and demand and block bookings.

  2. Thai politics: A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma

And yet there's no shortage of Thai Visa political "experts," many of whom are otherwise totally clueless about the Thai language and Thai culture or even how to deal with the most basic day-to-day issues of life in Thailand, for which they desperately seek guidance on Thai Visa forums. The last usually demonstrating the blind-leading-the-blind metaphor.

    And your point is?

  3. "I met her on Thai love links website"

"I met her on Thai love links website"

''I met her on Thai love links website"................................went to Thailand to meet her for 1 week ,1 week ,umm?

I buy her an ipad.........help her with some little money(mmpf hi hi,sorry had to sneeze)

pay for her monthly internet so we can talk every night,......well then by now you speak thai or she speaks fluently english ?

Did you ask her ,during these long talks , how many children sche has ? (never ask if they have any, always ask how many, they will never lie (lol),

Ask her if her husband drank himself to death or died in an "motosike" accident( 2 choices are more then sufficient)

"Her mother doesn't want her family to know? (I think it will bring shame? wrong again ,the mother will be happy ! Her daughter hooked a farang fish!

Yep ,maybe you better go live with your parents for another 30 years .

U heartless user of virgins. Did u ever hear of the Virgin Mary, protectress of Pattaya's virgins??

She wouldn't be overworked, though, would she?

  4. Very easy, when born DNA test that's it.

    And when yours take responsebility.

And do not go back to Thailand until some time after the baby (if it's real) is born. And don't send money.

  5. You can get 4 days out of ya Jocks / Undies if you know the inside out / rotation method ..... coffee1.gif

I have heard that there is a way of getting 5 days but have never found out how yet ,it may just be a legend.whistling.gif

What exactly do you mean by 'get' when referring to underwear (jocks)? Nobody can stop you wearing them for as many days or weeks as you want. One day is enough for me; I change them regardless.

  6. If I were the girl's father, I would want to know how the OP gets his money. With all the scammers that show up here, it's a legitimate concern. Someone who doesn't work and has plenty of money is suspicious to say the least.

    Agreed...

I don't see why the OP can't open up a little bit, in broad terms, about what his past employment history was, which may go a long way to painting a picture of why he doesn't need to work now. He doesn't have to give details, but being totally closed mouth without any clue or hint of where his money is coming from will only lead to suspicion and speculation. It certainly will not lead to good thoughts.

"I worked in the oil industry, made good money and invested it wisely"...something like that. I just don't see what harm opening up this little bit would do.

Should he do it just to satisfy your curiosity or, more likely, envy?

  7. No K it's not clear.

I was (still am) under the impression that you are a Thai-basher.

IMO you are judging Thais and their culture based on a very limited "my culture's standards are the one true way" mentality rather than being accepting of differences.

Live and let live, learn how to adapt yourself to them while you are here, stop trying to fit what you perceive into your back-home brainwashing.

Your posting this OP just makes me think "we (try to) teach what we most need to learn".

    -------------

And yes, learn how to use the forum markup to clean up the quotes, how to mark other people's words to differentieate them from your own etc.

It's not up to the reader to figure out what you mean, it's your responsibility to try to make that clearn

Are you ok, I'm defending thai people in this thread.

Oh lord it's amazing here on tv, hilarious.

It's not a question of who's on what "side", things aren't black and white. The goal is for us to try to improve the quality of the discussions going on here

I am stating that the perception here is that you are one of the main offenders guilty of exactly what you are trying to criticize.

Take that feedback as sincere, trying to be helpful holding up a mirror for you so you can try to see the impression your style of communication conveys.

And see if you can find the kernel of truth in it rather than defensively arguing back against it.

I'm always extremely polite unless people are rude, and that is why I am rarely polite.

Talk right and you will see how friendly I am, however I will not allow people to walk all over me simply because they are miserable or trying to amuse themselves.

Seems to me that you have an awful lot of time on your hands. Why do you spend so much of it on this forum?

  8. LMAO cheesy.gifcheesy.gif This is so funny...coming from a Country like the Philippines clap2.gif

US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, the Great Britain, Ireland, France, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Spain, Greece, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Romania, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland, Slovak, Russia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Czech, Turkey, Israel, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, India, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore.

    Is it still so funny?

Yes, because few if any of those countries has actually advised its citizens not to travel to Thailand at all.

  9. I cannot understand how one nutcase can cause all this mayhem that need to arrest him for his outstanding murder charge and lock him up. This is going to put Thailand back years people will get sick and tired of all the hassle remember the last time when the airport was shut down it took days to get travellers back home no government in the western world would allow a man like Suthep to do what he is doing the guy is just plain crazy and at the end of the day nothing will be achieved, there is no consideration for those in Bangkok forced to close there business down for a week or so and at the end of the day when people do not have the money to make up for loss revenue Suthep will go home where no doubt he has million stashed under his bed.

Which nutcase are you talking about? If you hadn't later mentioned his name, one could be forgiven for thinking it was the other one!

  10. Idiot!! Walking 4 am with that much money on the street !!!!!

It's hard to disagree with that.

Probably seen counting it earlier in some bar.

Yes, that's right, that's what you'd do with a 1000 Euros. Sit in a bar in the early hours counting it for all to see.............I agree, he deserved to be robbed, beaten and assaulted by a group of Thai men, that'll teach him

    Never too late to learn.

  11. I'd probably bone the missus more often.

Huge thunderstorm here the other day; no Thai Visa because the power and internet was off, couldn't play golf and couldn't go for a bike ride so I sat down and had a nice long chat with the missus; she seems like a really nice person.

Probably in small doses. I bet you were glad when the power came on again. biggrin.png
