I would also like bigger notes. USD 30.00 is not exactly a lot these days and I do prefer to use cash. The US has 100 Dollar notes, UK 50 Quid N. Ireland 100 Pounds) and the largest EUR note is a hefty EUR 500.

Nice, except that Friday is of course the 27th. Important date as I will turn 50. I will gladly accept either new or old 100-Baht notes
Edit: and obviously my eyesight is failing me as it is clearly mentioned that they will come out Thursday. Off to get my seeing-eye dog now.

Good to see that all the conspiracists are in great form.

Utter nonsense.....

My daughter was exposed to Vietnamese, English and German. There was some confusion in the beginning but one day everything fell into place and today, 15 years later, she is fluent in all three.

I would put a scythe in the thiefs hand too, can't prove he wasn't carrying it Good on the old fella but a good cut to the thigh would have been sufficient...
Sorry, but I have someone come at me with a scythe, I am not going to eff about trying to find a spot to just incapacitate said person.
Like I said, if he actually did have a scythe ? Pretty easy to stick one in his hand post mortem, makes self defense more plausible...
Ah yes, the usual conspiracy crowd and about...

Never underestimate the power of the old farts.
We can defend ourselves and our families and never are afraid or run away.
Beware of the old dogs, they can bite really hard.
This lesson was brought to you by a young...ish old fart.
I am pretty sure the guy has had tough jobs all his life and is hard as nails unlike the two city boys that tried to steal his stuff. I'd by him a beer if I ever met him.

I hope they rule it as selfdefense. The kid sure went out surprised at being put away be an elderly guy.....

Whoever filled the complaint, I sympathize with him/her.
I wish I would file a report about my local Wat, that starts blaring their speakers from 5 in the morning.
But nobody will listen to me anyway
That's one of the reasons I'm moving to Pattaya
Bit like moving to the Vatican and complaining about the church bells......

Open the wiki link they have different dishes their names and ingredients.
Awesome link deonvz.
Who woulda thunk such an exhaustive and descriptive coverage of Thai food could be found on Wikipedia. Not that wikipedia doesn't often have informative pages, but this is better than the average wiki page.
+1 That sucker's great! Thai script, good description, links to ingredients, and even a pronunciation Play button!
+10.

Two lady boys arrested in Pattaya
Slow news day ... Zzzz
This. Couldn't believe the headline. Next: tomorrow's weather expected to be warm, Chinese tourists misbehaving, 4 Indian tourists in bed with one hooker,,,,

And another thread that starts with a Chinese (maybe) misbehaving and quickly descends into blatant Thai bashing.
As for the comments that Thailand drives away the "quality" tourists (would that be the sexpats in Patong?) by attracting Chinese: better get used to it, not just Thailand but all over the world.

Yes, that is going to put an end to all the unrest as militants on both sides wipe themselves out in traffic accidents....

Sorry to hear about the accident, but we've all seen the way a large percentage of the population rides here, particularly at night when they should be exercising the utmost caution. Thai men seem to have incredible confidence in their ability to react to anything in their path when they throw their leg over a bike.
Ooops.

And actually pretty common:-)

Agreed. I am a Canon man but I do have a small Nikon as it is the only waterproof interchangeable lens camera out there and the lens is awesome.

The Comet probably had the worst safety record since the Wright brothers. Whereas the ATR's are some of the safest planes out there.

Love these guys. Very common here, actually hear them every night from my room. Now taking a photo is another story.....

The advertisements on the side are really screwing up the photos

Just in my in my imagination: When it is full with fluid, isn't it shaking, fluid splashing inside?
Well you answered that question already, still it surprise me. I recall when I was on the way with heavy backpack every day both on the bicycle and on the mountain, I didn't know that it is there as well. It is just a matter to get used to it.
Thanks for sharing this......specially as I consider to run again, as well, just didn't get an idea where, yet.....
The bottles in front slosh more (I have two bottles in front with water and electrolytes) but even that I do not hear after some time. I run with music anyway:-)
But true, the running back-packs have come a long way. I still have an old Camelbak, the thing weighs a ton when empty.
Anyway, on the Ultras you have no choice as carrying a minimum of two liters of water is obligatory and I'd hat to carry that in my hands.

^^^ Good choice Hanno, however I prefer a FFL telephoto regardless of the cost.
I also have Niks 70-200 @ 2.8 & their old 80-200 @2.8; built like a tank & weighs
as much, and can take knocks that will wreck that 70-200. The choice is really up
to the individual & what they wanna spend...in the end.
Agreed but I cannot justify cost or weight. There are no hides or such where I do most of my birding and I cannot lug a lens like that (plus tripod and gimbal head as well as bins, scope and assorted other stuff). If I were in Europe, I would consider it.
I have the Canon 70-210/2.8 which is one of my favorite pieces of glass.

It is their holiday too
They have paid for the room(s)
Let them enjoy their holiday/vacation/stay
Ever hear of mutual respect? I believe the main reason most people book a hotel is to sleep. I would never dream of complaining about a noisy oub or bar, that is what these venues are there for. But I go to my hotel to sleep, nothing more, nothing less.

Robin Hood is the pub I frequent most when in Bkk!
Decent food, beer, wine and staff!
Don't go for the apple pie and custard at the Robin Hood though, it's horrible
The manager has a unique way of dealing with complaints on Trip Advisor!
Unique maybe, but not very professional.
