You're not forgetting all the old western men arrested around Thailand for 'illegal' gatherings of late I hope.

It's surreal as you drive bast the massive new shiny Bang Su Grand Station and see the dozens of decrepit trains lined up near it..

Rumours abound that he works for someone bigger. THat he will either get a suspended sentence, or be sent to jail in 'name only'.

A shopping street if done right, could be a nice alternative to over abundance or sterile malls, especially if they try to keep/enhance the current character.
At least they don't appear to be knocking everything down *fingers crossed*

I read novels and non-fiction. There are so many good books out there. I had to disconnect my Kindle for 6 months and I am still not through my backlog.

"Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said today (Thursday) that a censure debate is a mechanism for opposition parties to keep a check on the government, but urging people to vote against the government is not, adding that, if the opposition has valid evidence of alleged wrongdoings by the government or any ministers, there are other legal channels through which they can proceed to take action."
Let's play a game? How many inaccuracies can see you spot in Thanakorn's statement?

Koh Phangan is full of 'alternative' lifestyle foreigners who believe their lifestyle means Covid is a non-issue for them. Perhaps they are right, but their non-issue is an issue for for everyone else. There are laws/rules, and they have to follow them just as your average Thai or I do. Their self-centered detachment with a large dash of moral superiority is troubling, and potentially dangerous.

Do what I saw, don't do what I do.

I simply love it when the rubbish spouted by local officialdom gets called out by the international community. It's just so satisfying.

So instead of Prayuth and Anutin working together in a coordinated way, they are still playing ping-pong with responsibility. It's actions like this that explain why Thailand and it's people are suffering so much.

It depends on why they are asking.

Have they used this down time to address the dodgy roads and foul smells emanating from the open sewers?
-
Well if they have shipped all the high risk and infected labourers back to their home provinces, yes, perhaps it has gone done in Bangkok. Now, where are some accurate numbers from the provinces?

"Whataboutism" is rampant here. The message here is that Covid is out of control in Thailand, and the US has issued a travel warning for that reason. And it's fair enough too Anyone who travels here will face 2 week quarantine, closed restaurants, bars, relations and entertainment venues. Tourist operations all shut. Unless you want to come and sit in a Sandbox Hotel for 2 weeks. There is basically zero reason to come to Thailand right now, and a whole bunch of Covid Delta variant reasons not to.

Damaged him? The man is the most damaged politician in Thailand, and that really is saying something.

That's probably because the VIP's already got their vaccines a couple of months ago.

They never met their targets, and they always shift blame. Nothing new her.
Now, if the headline read "Tourism Minister admits miscalculating affects of Covid....", that would be special.

There will not be a Wuhan style lockdown. The areas hardest hit right now include those with all the major industrial estates. The country, and the companies in these areas, simply can't afford to be shut down. Some of the mega factories employ over 10,000 people each.
As OP states, the GOV is not competent enough to provide the basic essential services, so as mentally challenged as they are, they aren't quite deluded enough to think they could provide food and water to 70m people.
The current measures (perhaps a little more), and the common sense of the Thai people are about as much as can be managed right now.

Anutin should be arrested and charged with spreading misinformation.

This is what I'm calling an 'unexpected closing', I've mentioned this phenomenon before regarding restaurants and other places which suddenly close for a short period of time with no warning and normally not much in the way of an 'excuse' given.
If anything suddenly closes down right now then there's pretty much only one reason.........and it ain't 'part shortages'
It's quite possibly is a parts shortage. The global semi-conductor shortage is affecting the automotive industry hard. The top model Hilux and Corrola Cross with their more advanced safety tech have been affected the most.

So are we expected to believe people are stupid enough to think the man behind the seriousness of the current situation is also the man who can fix it? I mean, really? This has to be a joke.
