The police in Bangkok have leased seven Model 3's for 89m baht. I'm sure it was all very transparent and above board. The below was being driven by a colonel close to my home.

Not doing it directly? So via an agent, the traditional method of hiding graft.

Not only has the usual over promising and under delivering hurt Thailand, but this time also the people of Taiwan, Malaysia, and the Philippines.

Perhaps it's just me, but the timing of this suggests a bunch of envious kids watching Richard Branson go Brrrrrr, rather than grown adults who are responsible for their country being in the midst of it's most catastrophic pandemic ever!

Everyone: Covid is the worst thing to happen to Phuket.
Thai Government Officials: Hold my beer.

This is a fantastic achievement by the government. I think we can all acknowledge spectacular levels of incompetence, corruption, and general lack of intelligence required to achieve such a feat. I sincerely doubt that there are many others in Thailand, if any at all, that could have consistently failed the populace to such a degree. Well done boys.

The government is months behind with the vaccine roll-out, have flip flopped on an almost daily basis, keep saying what they are going to do but never actually do it, and their general corrupt incompetence has meant they have never have a coherent effective plan. As a result, thousands have died, millions are out of jobs, and the health system is buckling. Given the above, we shouldn't be surprised that the only solution they put forward is a total lock-down.

Negotiate with suppliers? Or with the health and livelihood of the Thai people?

Being donated the very vaccines that Thailand is meant to be the regional supplier of. #shame

Not seeing many articles about AZ recently. Have they given up? Or perhaps they are fulfilling obligations to Taiwan, Malaysia, and the Philippines, who I understand Thailand agreed to supply as part of the license agreement.

You have to wonder what happened to the other 5m doses. Were they ever coming? Are they being withheld for certain individuals? Have they been on-sold? Normally such questions wouldn't enter my mind, but this has been a massive cluster <deleted> from start to finish.

I had a 1.6l Fiesta Sport. Did have a minor clutch issue, but it was quickly sorted out. Very peppy, excellent handling, and a stereo that punched well above it's weight. Seats wear surprisingly comfortable, so suitable for longer 5 hour+ drives.

Handling, style and a touch of interior luxury, go with the Mazda. More space and the practicality that brings, go with Toyota.
Safety wise, they are basically the same.

It must be tough writing cheques for those aid programmes knowing full well that 50% will be siphoned off and the other 50% will be used inefficiently.
Unless it's all politics and this is more a reaction to something like the Cambodian government ripping down some recently built buildings at a naval base and replacing them with Chinese ones.

You're forgetting Chang House on Soi Naresuan 1. (It is currently closed, though, thanks to COVID, AFAIK.)
They had 2 Indian curries by name, but not really by nature.
It's a little surprising their aren't any actual Indian restaurants, as a lot of factories have them working in machining.

There are some amazing restaurants of all shapes and sizes in Ayutthaya, but sadly there is no Portuguese, Indian or Persian to be found. You can get lots of Japanese and Korean, but that's because of the industrial estates.
I wonder if one of the traditional "Noo Nah" (BBQ'd Farm Rat) will make it in the list?

Not doesn't. It's years behind other countries in the region. If you mean just Indochina, ok, maybe. You can write an article about the progress Bangkok is making without needing to use the word hub or capital each and every time.

Honestly, this is a really <deleted>ty selfish thing to do.

We have over 20% of our staff in quarantine, and the immediate hit on our capacity is of a similar level. Not good.
