I am 65 my Thai wife 45. I live in Italy, the US, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Israel, and Spain...and visited other countries. Married 3 times before, for not lo long time, and sated a lot...really...a lot. Never paid for sex or looked for bar girls. Let see if you agree with me in this....
In Thailand, women are like in many other countries. Some stunning beautiful, some stunning ugly, and most very exotic if you like Asian women.
But Thai women are different in some ways.
In my opinion, at my age, and married with a younger Thai...It is not a generalization, just my observation, and just related with looks.
I like tall women because I am 1.85 m tall, 85 Kg...my wife, a very rare Thai, 1.72 m tall and 56Kg...but I agree that some petite cute Thais are very attractive, and petite women in any country have the reputation of being very sensual.
When a Thai woman is beautiful, also looks and act a lot younger than her real age. A lot younger. Some 30 years I know have "teenagers souls"
Perhaps that is the reason that even mature Thai women are shy, but very playful when in privacy, and make any old guy feel younger.
Most Thai women are body hairless. That, and a darker color, makes their skin the most silky, delicate and sensual skin of any woman I met before.
Most Thai women have a beautiful and silky hair, beautiful legs, hands and feet. Beautiful and white smiles.
Thai women do not use to much makeup, and not just keep taking care of their looks to go out or dating. Some even looks stunning without any make up at all, and dressing very simple and casual.
Thai women keep fresh anytime they can, and do not have body odor, even in private parts. They are very self concern about that.
And...for an old guy like myself, is good that most Thai women do not like to show their beauty and to dress sensual in public. In my case, will makes feel very bad and even older.
Most Thai women are body hairless? That's a joke. Try living here for a while.
Silky hair? Only in the TV ads. Thai women have thick coarse hair with a million kinky little hairs. What do you think they pick out of each others hair all day long? Fleas?
Make up? Thailand's cosmetics industry posted 50 billion baht in domestic sales last year (2010). Divide that by Thai women to figure out how much per capita.
How do Thai women smell? Well they wear black Lycra tights under almost everything. It's not hard to figure out.
Ugly, dirty and smelly women can be found in any country.
It's not hard to figure out...what kind of woman attracts you!

Nuke the rock...

The school should be fined for employing them!!!
and you should be fined for such a lame comment on a topic you obviously did not read!
They were not employed by a school.
They were working online, for a bogus "online language school, that doesn't really exist in Thailand.
Give us a break.
and thanks for the valuable input!

Obama has made great strides in America's recover from the damage done to Americans and America's reputation around the globe by the Cheney administration.
Unfortunately, eight years is not enough to recover fully from all the damage Dick and George caused.
Think of what he may have accomplished if he didn't spend most of his time trying to cleaning up the mess GW made of foreign affairs and the U.S. economy!
If Obama could run for a third term, he would get my vote.
If Clinton's administration is an extension of Obama's, it would be a good thing.
and seriously, what has the GOP got to offer?
More hate and greed?

A beer for Russian 20 baht, For Thai 25 baht. For Other farang not Russian, sorry but you must now pay 200 baht.
It will not work.
They spend their entire vacation sitting in their hotel room drinking vodka.
Cheap Charliskies!

Good to hear it went well.
I have had a few extensions now and have never had a problem either.
Hint:
Keep copies of everything you just submitted for your extention.
Unless your situation changes over the next year, all you will need to do is copy what you submittedand make a few small changes....like the date you will submit it again.
You will need to submit new photos next year.
I have never had a visit from immigration.
A note from the village head stating that he knows me and confirming my residence in the village, and a photo of the village head was all that they required.

I did not know this was an issue in Thailand.
I have always been impress by the lack of homophobia I see here in Thailand.
I have never lived in an area where homosexuals and transexuals are so well accepted, and I am from the San Francisco bay area!
It is one of the things I respect Thai people for.
I could see this happening in right winged America where people fear anyone "different" from themselves.
But in Thailand? Seriously?
Could this possibly be a "troll post" ???

I too am an avid amature photographer in Issan.
Did you take the battery out straight after it was drenched in water?
Have you tried putting the camera in a bag of rice?if you have a sack of rice, place the camera on top of it with the batter door open.
This has worked for me in the past,as the rice will soak up any moisture inside the camera.Might have to leave it there a day or two.
Similar idea as putting some rice grains inside a salt pot.
I will give it a try...thanks!

I was born and brought up in Bath.
Although my tongue is firmly in my cheek, let,'s agree to disagree?
You ain't a Bristolian..........Yet you run down my birthplace..........
I feel the same way about Thai bashers .
Here we go. Two guys who're born in the same country.
My point being is how can foreigner in general accept each other in a country like Thailand, if there's so much hate going on?
I personally don't care if somebody's from Edinburgh,Manchester, New York, or Philadelphia. It all comes down who the person is.
I've met Trans quite a few times and he's definitely a nice bloke. Does it really matter that much where somebody was born?
But to get back to topic, would it be legal to be a Moderator, or Administrator of an online forum, without having a work permit?
The guys in CM just had bad luck, that's all. or somebody informed them.....
i don't even want to know how many people here are teaching "illegal", or doing other stuff that's against the law.
Regarding Americans, okay I find it sad that all British movies have to be subtitled that they're understood by Americans, but most people on this planet do speak American English.
English, as well as German, are "word borrowing" languages. Do all Brits really know that English is actually a Germanic language?
Excellent post...you nailed it!
I am American ( West Coast ) and even have difficulty understand people from some parts of America at times.
But with a little effort and concentration, I can understand any English speaker,.... without subtitles!
The arrogance of some who think they are the only ones who speak the language is a little irritating at times, but I guess we all need something to be proud of. l
I think what we all need to be aware of is that when we use our own localized slang, other English speakers get lost, and slang should not be presented to English language students as part of the English language.
When I said you "nailed it" I believe that is a localized slang term....but I meant it.....
As far as foreigners not getting along in Thailand, I must admit that I almost exclusively have contact with Thais, and the longer I am here in Thailand, the more difficult it is to relate to other foreigners, especially those who reject and do not respect Thai ways and culture.
As a result, I do not go out of my way to meet or communicate with other foreigners, even from my home country.
Again..good post..
Thanks

I too am an avid amature photographer in Issan.
Unfortunately, at a Songkran celebration in Chokchai on Wednesday night, an extremely intoxicated Thai gentlemen dumped a bucket of water on my FUJIFILM FineiPix1800 digital camera.
I have done everything I can imagine to dry it out, but it is still not functioning.
Does anyone have any ideas about what I can to to get it working again or know of a place ( I live south of Korat in Chokchai ) where I might get it repaired?
I love photography and my camera.
I almost feel like I have lost a child!
Here is one of the last photos I took with it on Wednesday night.
She is a friend...be nice please!

If these are what you are looking for,
It is actually spelled " Carabiner".
and is pronounced like" Care a beaner"
Those made for rock climbing can withstand loads of 2000 pounds,
but in recent decades they are available with much less strength as well...ones used as keychains, should only be used as keychains.
Be sure to purchase ones suitable for your needs.

Here we go again..
Only Brits are native English speakers.
They invented the language.
They own the language.
It's just a shame that most people can not understand the language the way the Brits speak it.
and, oh yes, the Brits are a pretty small percentage of the people on the planet who do speak English....
GOD SAVE THE BRITiSH !
Maybe it is time to change the name of the language and put a stop to these foolish claims??
lol

I do not see where the article mentions a ferry for cars or shipping cargo.
I think the plan is to transfer tourist from one tourist area to the other.
Most tourist are foreigners without their own vehicles.
Let's not bog things down for the sake of a few locals with cars!
High speed passenger ferries rock!

Just make sure you are a good swimmer.
The water is warm and visibility is good.
Your odds of holding on until rescue are pretty darn good!
No worries mate!

They assume nobody will notice when they bite into a chunk of lead?
Can anyone be that stupid?
Is this just a late April Fools post?

Are crayfish available in Thailand?
I have never seen any here.
I would like to raise some in my pond.
Where can I obtain some live ones, without the lead in them?
I am serious about this.
P.S. What the heck does any of this have to do with Songkran????

The golden shower tree is the national flower of Thailand; its yellow flowers symbolize Thai royalty. A 2006-2007 flower festival, the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek, was named after the tree, which is known in Thai as Ratchaphruek (Thai: ราชพฤกษ์) and the blossoms commonly referred to as dok khuen (Thai: ดอกคูน).
It is both the national flower and national tree of Thailand.
In Thailand it is often referred to as "The King's Tree" .

You get a Non O based on marriage visa one time .
Then if you continue to meet the qualifications, you can get an extension of stay on that visa every year.
This is how it has worked for me.
You do not get a new visa every year and you are not required to leave the country, or do border runs.
I have not left Thailand for over four years...no problem.

I guess I should sharpen the question a little bit.
Is there anything I can do with a Marriage visa that a tourist or someone on a retirement visa can't do?
Is the entrance to temples or national parks the same.
You would think that if you marry a Thai you would get some perks you do in other countries but perhaps not in Thailand.
When you marry a Thai woman, you get a Thai wife.
That is a huge perk, if you marry the right one.

"What amazes me are the horrors of aging prostitutes hanging around lower Sukhumvit bars esp soi 4. With all the beautiful women in Thailand, I'd have thought that the TAT would sort this out. Seriosly, I played pool down there and although nice personalities, they were over the hill and no oil paintings at all"Any man criticizing Thai women for ageing and being "over the hill" should be required to post a photo of themselves...It is only right that you allow us to see what a fine, young, and handsome man you are! What side of the hill do you live on Neeranam? Are you an "Oil Painting"?( hint: 48 is not a young man! )

A huge percentage of Thais claim to be Buddhist, true.
But few follow or even know the teachings of the Buddha.
My favorite example is that you should cause no suffering or kill anything.
Most Thais I know will kill almost any wild creature they see...and not just things they will eat!
They claim to be Buddhist, but actually follow brahminism and animism.
Their beliefs in spirit houses and ghosts have nothing to do with Buddhism.

To all of you guys who do not think Thai women are beautiful and refer to them as dark skinned midgets with flat noses who are stupid....
I strongly disagree with you, but respect your opinion.
Do not give up hope,
The kind of woman you crave are in Thailand!
I just spent time in the southern tourist areas of Thailand and was amazed at all of the very tall, large floppy boobed, fat assed, white, American, Euro and Aussie women with big noses that I saw there!
Being foreigners with the means to visit here, I am sure they were all very intelligent as well!
Just look at this one with her large nose ( and everything else ).
Does she make you drool?
Women like this scare me!
Make mine a Thai please!
