  1. Taking advice from the USA is like taking a drug rehab course from a drug dealer. They cannot run their own country and here they are giving advice.

    Interesting....

The United States has been the most successful, richest, most powerful and influential country on the planet since the end of WWII, about 30 years now.

No, they are not a utopia, but they are doing pretty well!

Can you name me any other country that is run as well?

    Even one??

  2. Mulberries are about the fastest growing shade you can plant and are shallow rooted.

They do grow in Thailand...mulberry leaves are the only thing silk worms can eat!

As previous posters have mentioned, shallow rooted trees may not be what you want!

    Your foundation is "shallow" no?

Something with a deep tap root, rather than a shallow diffused root system would probably be a better bet.

*** fruiting Mulberries can make a mess, the fruit stains concrete, but there is a fruitless variety available.

The photo is of a fruitless mulberry, I believe it is "Morus alba stribling"

  3. #1)

People from colder climates are always more motivated.

They need to plan and work for the future if they are going to eat, stay warm and survive in the cold months.

In a warm tropical climate, you never need to worry about ever getting really cold and have food available all year round.

Can you list any major accomplishments from any cultures that exist in a warm, comfortable climate?

    #2)

Japan is a small island with very limited resources.

This is what has motivated them to expand to other territories to access the resources they need in the past.

I have always considered the Japanese and the British to be much the same in this respect.

Both are cold small islands with limited resources.

    Both are motivated.

Both have made good efforts in the past to conquer and exploit others to get what they needed.

  4. If you use too much detergent, your clothes will not get as clean as if you use the recommended amount.

As others have stated, overloading the machine reduced the cleaning as well.

Follow the instructions on everything you use!

Bigger or more is probably not better.

Companies spend millions on R&D and want you to get the best results possible so you will purchase their products again.

Following the instructions on the package will give you the best results!

    Think about it!

  5. This Thai writer rambles on again wishing and hoping that the figments of his imagination were real. He and Thais long for a position of value in the world and to belong. Unfortunately, no one is interested in Thailand or especially what Thais think. The US is wasting US taxpayer dollars trying to salvage Thailand from its own self destruction.

    USA is interested in Thailand:

    1) Geographical location to China just like the USA used Thailand for Vietnam.

    2) Food source and for USA to sell GM Crops

    3) There is oil in the north of Thailand and USA was already involved in the extraction of this.

    4) There is Gold (not sure how much and cost of extraction) in the north of Thailand.

The USA was well cheesed off with the Thai army take over because it would appear Thaksin family were selling off Thailand to the USA.

Ask yourself the real reasons that USA were interested in Afganistan.

"Ask yourself the real reasons that USA were interested in Afganistan."

    Uugh...uugh, Im thinking, maybe 911?

Afghanistan had little if anything to do with 911.

The terrorist involved were from Saudi arabia.

Yes, Osama was in Afghanistan at the time, but he was not an Afghan.

Did you vote to reelect GW?

Afghanistan was all about getting oil the US wanted to ports they could ship it from.

  6. A couple of thoughts on this...

"No prior notification" This is Thailand, we live for the moment and never plan ahead.

It is kind of nice to make children the priority, but this is entertainment.

If you can delay so many flights for the sake of entertainment, why can't they delay flights twice a year ( New Years and Songkran ) for , the sake of passenger safety?

They have expressed much concern lately about the danger of a hot air balloon causing a jet to crashand it hasn't happened yet

Even when prohibited, all Thais will not stop launching balloons on these holidays.

It makes sense not to fly on these occasions and only at night when the balloons are launched..

If you can do it for fun, why not do it to save lives too?

There could be ample prior notification too!

  7. I would like to see what will be your reaction and feelings when they start bashing your country, wherever it is:whistling:

Costas, My country is The United States and it is bashed more than Thailand on this site.

In fact, I bash it a bit myself , often.

But, I never go to anti American sites looking for trouble...

Quote: Why would any Thai come to this site in the first place if not to find confrontation?

Are you for real? Do you truly believe that the Thai visa forums are all about confrontations? In principle I was always under the impression that these forums are about sharing ideas and information for the benefits of ex-pats living here or considering moving to Thailand and that also gives Thai people an opportunity to become involved in ex-pat affairs and experiences, not for the purposes to get criticised and offended.

I can assure you that the police and especially Immigration take an active interest in these threads and comments that contravene Thailand`s strict defamatory laws are noted. If was not the case than Thai visa would not require the services of it`s moderators.

I think you have misread or misunderstood my statement.

Nowhere do I say that TV is about confrontation.

I said that there are many things said on TV that a Thai would not like and that know that they will be offended when they come to the site.

Then they make confrontational post about what they find offensive.

They know they will be offended when they come here and come looking to disagree with expats.

My original post basically said that I will not change the content of my post to avoid offending those who who come here knowing they will be offended.

This site is for posting ideas and opinions and concerns of expats as well as being a good source of news and helpful information

    Not to please anyone...anyone!

    Understand now?

The question is not that they do , but how would you like it

How would you like it if back in the US, Thais had a forum where the constantly posted opinions derogatory to your country and to you .

I dont think you would, it is bad form for visitors to insult their hosts.'

In America, "bashing" is a big part of what makes the country a good place to be.

Bashing is how people in America get things done and get things changed.

People have the right to disagree and make it known.

Many unjust situations have been changed by the American people bashing the government or whoever else is at fault.

How do you think the American people put an end to the American occupation of South Vietnam?

    It was bashing.....also called decent!

It's a good and healthy thing in my country.

  9. It took me some time to sort out the good from the bad, but now that I have, I think I get better service on the average in Thailand than in my home country.

Find the good people who provide the services you need, get to know them and develop a good relationship.

The business I frequent often give me excellent personal service.

That is why I frequent them often.
