    Why can you not admit it? How is it apples and pears? Tariffs are taxes corporations pay, that are passed on to the consumer. Income taxes are taxes corporations pay that are passed on to the consumer. The only real difference, is that tariffs benefits domestic manufacturers, while corporate income taxes benefit foreign manufacturers.

    So we agree that raising corporate income taxes would increase consumer prices, yes? I have never claimed that tariffs would not increase prices on imported goods, they generally will. Just like mass deportations will drive up wages, increasing prices, yes?

You also claimed that raising corporate income taxes will not increase consumer prices. Both of those claims cannot be true.     He will be very selective. I worked in manufacturing most of my life, and retired from a fortune two hundred company a while ago. Most people would be amazed at how quickly a plant can be moved when tax incentives are involved.

    Yes, actually lower taxes do make products cheaper. Tariffs are a tax a corporation has to pay, and you argue raising them increases prices. Corporate income taxes are a tax corporations have to pay, yet you argue raising them does bot increase prices. It makes no sense

Do you not agree that increasing corporate income taxes WILL cost the US consumer? Why is one good and the other bad? At least with tariffs, only the people buying the products have to pay.

    If the market is competitive, yes. Do you think that when taxes are raised, that the greedy capitalists are just going to eat it? No, they are not, if they did, their market value would plummet. They will just pass on the cost to the consumer, just like any tariffs.
