Yet another poor performance by truss in last nights debate, she couldn’t explain when challenged on her now withdrawn public pay cut policy would save £8.8 billion if it didn’t include nurses teachers and the police. Her poor grasp and recall of facts or details on her own policy pledges was embarrassingly clear when she replied “Asked by presenter Kay Burley how she reached the £8.8bn figure as part of her plan if the policy was "misinterpreted", the foreign secretary admitted: "I don't have the details." She also made another u turn during questioning when she admitted back tracking on her previously announced green belt house building policy. sunak clearly won the debate. The opposition must be worried the tory base have not yet all voted. #gotruss- the candidate most likely to blow it in the home straight.

Let’s hope this is just the start. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/aug/04/alex-jones-defamation-trial-verdict-sandy-hook?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other ”In a separate phase Friday, jurors are to determine whether Jones owes any so-called punitive damages in addition to the compensation he was ordered to cough up Thursday.”

truss will win and that will make the opposition very happy. She is terrible under pressure as the debates show, even she realised this and pulled out of the last sky debate. She also refused to be interviewed by andrew neil live. Sunak to his credit didn’t refuse and actually did quite well. More likely the reason you have for refusing to read the guardian is because you cannot refute the factual news they report on. Not unusual in your case. You do realise that the links I provide are reports and not opinion pieces don’t you? They are different you know…

And also how are the heart palpitations…

Come on truss, enough with the policy debacles and humiliating u-turns. Sunak is catching up according to some polls. Thankfully for the opposition others say otherwise. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/aug/02/sunak-closing-gap-truss-tory-leadership-contest-poll-shows?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other #gotruss- the candidate the opposition would choose.

Mind you sunak’s policies are faring no better https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/aug/02/former-counter-terrorism-police-chief-attacks-rishi-sunaks-prevent-plans?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other ”But former counter-terrorism chief Sir Peter Fahy, who was also chief constable of Greater Manchester police, questioned the precise meaning of “vilification”. He said: “The widening of Prevent could damage its credibility and reputation. It makes it more about people’s thoughts and opinions. “It is straying into thought crimes and political opinions.” #gotruss-if you ever get your ballot papers that is. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/aug/02/ballot-papers-for-tory-leadership-vote-delayed-after-security-concerns?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

It just keeps on getting funnier and just embarrassing. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/aug/02/truss-suffers-setback-as-criticism-of-civil-service-pay-plan-brings-u-turn?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other Sunak’s take on this is just priceless “His campaign team responded to Truss’s statement with barely disguised glee, with a spokesperson claiming the misstep showed, “a lack of serious judgment” and “a worrying lack of grip on detail in what is already a woolly economic plan”. “If this was in a general election, it would have been a potentially fatal own goal for the Conservatives,” they added, suggesting Truss had supported the policy since 2018 when she was chief secretary to the Treasury.” In effect they are saying truss is clueless #gotruss-the opposition’s choice.
