  1. Barking mad if she thinks she did any good. The only sane voice in that clip is the bloke yelling in the background. “Brighter days lie ahead” They certainly are brighter now that you’ve quit.
  2. They pled guilty as charged. Therefore they are guilty as charged. Guilty of the crime with which they were charged.
  3. because they are guilty and chose the option that being they are guilty leads to less gaol time for committing the crime they are guilty of.
  4. You can say that but don’t link it to my posts which are not discussing that. Now let’s get back on topic…
  5. My post is discussing the guilty who pled guilty because they are guilty.
  6. I’ve not seen that on this thread, so it appears to be an element of deflection being introduced. Also I asked where you got the idea I subscribed to the whataboutary question you asked. My posts have suggested no such thing.
  7. Loved the opening joke praising truss’ performance as pm. Went downhill after that.
  8. That was a quick acceptance speech. Started off with a joke though by praising truss for her performance as pm.
  9. Nadine Dorries isn’t happy “Dorries, a culture secretary during Johnson’s government, had called on Sunday for a general election after he decided not to enter leadership race. She tweeted that the former prime minister would have won the votes of Tory members and “already had a mandate from the people” in the form of his 2019 election win. “Rishi and Penny, despite requests from Boris, refused to unite, which would have made governing utterly impossible. Penny actually asked him to step aside for her. It will now be impossible to avoid a GE,” she said.” https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/24/calls-grow-for-general-election-after-rishi-sunak-becomes-tory-leader?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  10. Nowhere was it stated in any reports that either is an issue. Sunak himself has talked about the strength he takes from his faith. “Two years ago, when Sunak was chancellor, he lit candles to mark Diwali on the doorstep of No 11 Downing Street at a time when Covid restrictions remained in force. “It was one of my proudest moments that I was able to do that on the steps of Downing Street. It was one of my proudest moments of the job that I had for the last two years,” he told the Times earlier this year. His faith “gives me strength, it gives me purpose. It’s part of who I am,” he said.” https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/24/rishi-sunak-becomes-first-british-pm-of-colour-and-also-first-hindu-at-no-10?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  11. No one has suggested such.
  12. Tories dodged a bullet there, the base membership has not been given a say in who’s the new pm… just like the rest of the country. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/24/sunak-poised-become-uk-pm-mordaunt-johnson-withdraw?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  13. johnson supporters threatening to continue disruption if/when sunak becomes party leader. This from Christopher Chope “We have got a parliamentary party which is completely riven, and it’s ungovernable,” Chope told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. “In a sense, that is the reason why Boris has pulled out, because obviously Rishi Sunak wasn’t prepared to guarantee him his support in the event that he was elected as leader by the party and the country. “Unless we can have somebody as our leader in parliament who commands the support and respect of the parliamentary party, we are in effect actually ungovernable.” https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/24/rishi-sunak-will-face-ungovernable-tory-party-warns-johnson-supporter?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  14. That is very hard to do in a well run event like the London Marathon ... but ok, if you say so...
  15. Four hours? For a half marathon? What were you doing...walking?
  16. Believing one to be superior because of personal traits is one thing. We are all entitled to personal delusions I suppose… And to get back on topic… Discrimination because of creed, colour, orientation, gender, gender identity or any other feature of a person’s identity by anyone is always wrong.
  17. All hate, bigotry, intolerance, discrimination, prejudice and stereotyping is wrong. I do wonder about those who ask the whataboutory type of questions as you have here. Why would you believe I think otherwise?
  18. Unlikely unless Johnson’s 60+ backers decide to support her in order to torpedo sunak’s chances. If it goes to the base she could win even though sunak again would be the choice of the parliamentary party. Still at least mordaunt doesn’t seem as inept and out of touch with reality as truss is.
  19. If the below is true, it shows how delusional johnson really is “The Times carries a similar headline: “Sunak set for No 10 as Johnson quits race”. The papers writes that the “Ex-PM blames lack of unity among candidates” for his exit from the race. It reports that Johnson accused Sunak and Mordaunt of “failing to come together in the national interest after they rebuffed his attempts to strike a deal.” It was reported that Johnson met with Sunak and Mordaunt over the weekend, urging them to pull out.” https://www.theguardian.com/media/2022/oct/24/newspaper-front-pages-today-uk-what-the-papers-say-boris-johnson-bojo-no-rishi-sunak-tory-leadership-race?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
