  1. I’ve taken part in yoga and I am an atheist. It is simply another form of exercise and relaxation for me.
  2. Already made clear I do not regard concentration/positive thinking and superstitious rituals as the same thing.
  3. People can believe in whatever they want but that doesn’t mean superstitious rituals will lead to road safety. One wonders how many of those whose drug or alcohol use and excessive speeding believed that the rituals performed previously would protect them from accidents.
  4. I was raised in a strict Catholic family and attended faith based schools. I know what I am rejecting.
  5. Not the same thing. Concentrating upon what you are doing would probably lead to better road safety. Relying upon a mythical deity or superstition to do it for you won’t.
  6. I see no difference when they are relied upon to bring about road safety.
  7. The superstition is irrelevant, myths and the rituals surrounding them do not lead to divine intervention to bring about road safety.

  9. His main contribution to the current session of parliament appears to have been taking a holiday. He should stick to that.
  10. Some excellent news on the government’s Rwanda scheme https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/oct/21/airline-hired-uk-rwanda-deportations-pulls-out-privilege-style?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  11. So beating up someone in a police station only warrants a transfer for the thug bib responsible but flashing your goods online gets you five years? My oh my…
  12. The problem is the tory base. The parliamentary party picked sunak last time only for the base to vote in truss. No matter whom the parliamentary party votes for, if there is more than one candidate the base still has the final say. They didn’t vote for the sane choice last time round and it cannot be guaranteed they will this time. For the sake of the country let’s hope both choices made in Parliament are rational and trustworthy (which rules out johnson). Or even better there is only one choice who obtains the required number of votes. The first thing they should then do is call an election. They probably won’t but for the long term future of the party they should…the tory internal divisions are so deep now that a reboot of the party is needed and that requires a clear out of the current batch of tory mps.
  13. You have not backed up the claim that many guardian journalists/contributors are communists.
  14. They’ve only got one name and cannot back up that bs claim.
  15. Environmentally that is a much better option, no plastic waste involved.
  16. He’s certainly no longer busy at Villa.
  17. And statements like that, ladies and gentlemen, is why the BIB are considered to be unfit for purpose by so many people.
  18. because in some circumstances it is electorally beneficial to believe any lunatic suggestions that will appeal to the maga herd.
  19. Nonetheless…
  20. He has previously admitted he lay on top of a 14 year old boy. That isn’t groping, that’s sexual assault. Also I do believe that groping is not legal, it along with any unwanted sexual touching, is considered sexual assault. However, as I say spacey seems to have been fortunate with the jury this time round..
  21. As the child was 14 I’d argue informed consent for a grown man to carry out such a thing couldn’t be given. If an adult engaging in sexual encounters with an underage child is a crime, I cannot see how the behaviour in this case, behaviour that has previously been admitted to by spacey, can be legal. However it appears the jury felt otherwise. Fortunate for spacey eh…
