  1. Uh oh… https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/jul/31/rishi-sunak-pledges-20-tax-cut-by-end-of-decade-in-last-gasp-pitch-to-members?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other ”In a coded attack on Truss, Sunak said the party’s future in power was in peril. “Winning this leadership contest without levelling with people about what lies ahead would not only be dishonest – it would be an act of self-sabotage that condemns our party to defeat at the next general election and consigns us to a long period in opposition. “I would urge them to treat with caution any vision that doesn’t involve any difficult trade-offs and remember that if something sounds too good to be true – then it probably is.”
  2. I never mentioned Thailand so I really don’t understand why you are introducing it into this thread.
  3. Sack the teacher. They are not fit for purpose.
  4. Because you only hear what you want to? Sarcasm alert. If you don’t want Johnson’s proclivities mentioned then don’t introduce him to a thread.
  5. It was not relevant in any way, shape or form to my post, as my reply to the post (which was mine) shows. blair as pm is not the subject of this thread nor is his background and therefore off topic. But I suspect you knew that.
  6. It’s still not relevant to this thread. I’ve already said I don’t judge on background. This thread is not about blair’s performance as pm and therefore off topic.
  7. johnson was a liar and untrustworthy, the country is good for his going. The contest for tory party leader is between truss and sunak now. I believe truss is going to be a liability for her party as leader and a gift for the opposition in a general election. #gotruss
  8. RE background I actually don’t care. Politicians should be judged on their actions not their family circumstances. Anything gets truss elected is indeed good news. #gotruss
  9. Thailand? What’s that got to do with this thread?
  10. Very sad news. Sometimes I forget just how much impact Nichelle Nichols had as an actor and NASA ambassador. RIP
  11. twitter is for posh people? Who told you that? I’m not on it but come across posts from it on various news threads. @liztruss is a handle on it though…are you saying she is posh then? Anyway to get back on topic, I see that @liztruss has a lot on it about her election bid…
  12. Nothing to do with my posts. Great. That means truss is likely to win. The opposition will be very pleased. Not in the case of this thread or party leadership contests, which is the point of my posts regarding the current election. I do look forward to the results of the next general election though. The opposition (who are not just the labour party by the way) no doubt are sorting out their own houses. truss is just a delightful bonus for them. #gotruss
  13. Really, I don’t remember advocating any such thing. I supported the rights for those who called for such a thing to do so but as I am not resident in the uk I neither voted in the brexit vote nor did I campaign for a rerun. And for the final time, brexit has nothing to do with my posts. Will truss will beat sunak, I’d say that’s most likely a given (if the polls are to be believed and nothing indicates they shouldn’t be). The opposition are no doubt hoping this is the case. Half her own party for a start. I really hope the conservative base thinks this. #gotruss
  14. Latest campaign news from @liztruss on twitter. https://mobile.twitter.com/trussliz/with_replies?lang=en
  15. I didn’t say they would and did say they are not obligated to do so. I can’t blame them for not doing so because under truss they will probably lose. Funny you thinking on general elections being rerun of votes but that’s just more brexiteer deflection I guess. Still nothing to do with my posts. Making truss party leader/pM will definitely change the electability equations. #gotruss
  16. “You keep worrying about the definition of a woman and getting Dianne into a matching pair of shoes” I don’t worry about either of those things. I do worry that the tax plans and other pledges truss advocates will be a disaster for the country and only hope that she calls an early election before she causes too much damage. She won’t (and is under absolutely no obligation to do so) I suspect as it is going to take a long time to heal the disastrous division opened up in the tory party during the last few weeks, but one can hope. Brexit? Why on earth are you referring to that? I haven’t mentioned it or these shangri-la trade deals that keep on being touted. I do hope she wins though, I truly believe that short term will be bad but long term will lead to tory defeat as truss and her premiership will not be a success. #gotruss
  17. All three reasons I gave you remain valid and none of your comments change that. As at least one other poster has postulated your reasons for pursuing the line you have is opaque at the very best.
  18. How do I know. TRC Survivor accounts. 40 Billion dollars.
  19. Removing children from their families had nothing to do with education and everything to do with the zealotry of cultural assimilation.
  20. Respect? Just as “beer Starmer” has been viewed respectable for you? Stop grammar police trolling and get on topic. #gotruss
  21. Oh truss’ ineptitude is going to <deleted> off plenty of people in the country if she gets the top job. The opposition know this and I suspect are praying the tories are stupid enough to put her in place.
