  1. I don’t need your advice on what to introduce. As to the post you responded to, I merely commented on a well made point. A point entirely in line with the topics theme.
  2. Ian Curtis’ words sum up truss’ situation “she's lost control again And she showed up all the errors and mistakes And said, "I've lost control again" And she expressed herself in many different ways Until she lost control again And walked upon the edge of no escape And laughed, "I've lost control" She's lost control again She's lost control She's lost control again She's lost control” Joy Division: She’s lost control
  3. That press conference brings to mind the words of the late, great Ian Curtis. “Confusion in her eyes that says it all She's lost control And she's clinging to the nearest passerby She's lost control And she gave away the secrets of her past And said, "I've lost control again" And to the voice that told her when and where to act She said, "I've lost control again" She's lost control again She's lost control ..” Joy Division: She’s lost control
  4. He may have gone but it has done nothing to help truss’s position. A debacle of a press conference didn’t help either. Tory divisions exposed during the leadership campaign have not healed and it seems everything truss does seems to open them further. One of her backers, Chope, during a live bbc interview has just called those tory mps turning on her “a pack of hyenas”.
  5. From the OP “At Friday's press conference, Ms Baldwin, Raleigh's mayor, said the tragedy has "doubled our determination now to end senseless gun violence that is grips on our country and now on our city". "We must stop this mindless violence in America," said North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper after the shooting. "We must address gun violence. We have much to do, and tonight we have much to mourn." Fine words. Let us hope they lead to action.
  6. Absolute debacle of a press conference. Most of the questions she took during that humiliating 8 minutes questioned why she should remain in office. Stormed off after answering (for want of a better word) the fourth one. Debacle. She is going to find it incredibly difficult to survive as pm after this. tick tick tick…
  7. Nope. That’s another ill informed opinion. You seem to have a surplus of them.
  8. I’ve backed up my view with credible sources on the racism faced by many British citizens in this thread already. You cannot do so because your “opinion “ has no such evidence.
  9. Nonetheless…if you’ve no credible evidence to back such an “opinion” it is an ill informed one.
  10. No they are not. Either back that up with credible evidence or stop repeating such utter nonsense.
  11. Nobody is doing that. I don’t. Yeah right… Doesn’t change the fact that racism is a problem in the U.K. Nonsense.
  12. Society is the host in the metaphor I made… Again the rest of your post is symptomatic of such a metaphorical cancer.
  13. None so blind as those who will not see https://news.un.org/en/story/2021/04/1090032 https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/the-colour-of-my-skin/zhnshcw https://www.tuc.org.uk/research-analysis/reports/still-rigged-racism-uk-labour-market
  14. Cancers destroy the hosts they inhabit, be it the body or a society. The rest of your post is symptomatic of such.
  15. Nonetheless racism is a cancer that afflicts the country...
  16. The fact people flee persecution, war, terror and other forms of violence has nothing to do with an issue that affects millions of uk citizens...
  17. Ah the irony of you making baseless assertions and accusing others of offering nothing. Educate yourself and read the link I added to my last post. Further education embedded within it...
  18. Say it all you want, it doesn’t make it any truer. The U.K. does have a problem with racism, as the OP highlights, and it is a national problem. Nonsense. https://news.un.org/en/story/2021/04/1090032
  19. Really not sure how you have decided upon that opening sentence and even if true (and I am by no means saying it is true), it really doesn’t matter how racist the country is compared to any other, you have chosen to allege is worse. This thread is about the uk not any other place.
  20. Yeah, right…but don’t worry yourself foreign ministry, Ukraine is resolving the situation on the ground. Though if Russia withdraws forthwith a lot of lives could be spared.
  21. I really don’t see your perceived views on politics have any relation to the fact that racism is still a cancer that affects the U.K. What is sad is your refusal to see this because you don’t want to face this reality.
