  1. You also made a sweeping generalisation that ''the Irish do like a drink''
  2. No intention whatsoever of answering your deflection question, just happy pointing out the hypocrisy and irony of your posts where you accuse others of doing what you yourself do...
  3. I have. You did not specify that Irish builders like a drink, though that in itself is also a stereotype. You said ''the Irish do like a drink'' As to what that can be called...I'll let you answer that.

  5. This from someone who just posted ''the Irish do like a drink'' Ah, the irony...
  6. Yeah, you also insisted that you would stand by your disastrous budget and insisted your tax cut blah blah blah was sustainable. Look what happened there…
  7. “One of the provisions of President Joe Biden's executive order is that any U.S. citizen or green card holder working in China cannot work in the Chinese semiconductor industry or risk of losing American citizenship.“ Hmm…
  8. truss reverting to form and has someone else to face commons questioning after hunt tore up her tax cut blah blah blah idiocy. Cannot stand the pressure, can’t face questioning, lame duck premiership incarnate. She’s toast. “Penny Mordaunt, the leader of the Commons, will soon by answering an urgent question from Labour’s Keir Starmer on the sacking of Kwasi Kwarteng as chancellor. Starmer wanted Liz Truss to reply, but she has sent Mordaunt to face MPs instead. The sacking of Kwarteng seems particularly unfair in the light of a report in the Mail on Sunday yesterday by Glen Owen saying it was Truss who forced Kwarteng to include the abolition of the top rate of tax in the original mini-budget – despite his misgivings. Owen reports.” https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2022/oct/17/jeremy-hunt-mini-budget-liz-truss-conservatives-labour-tax-uk-politics-live?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  9. “Never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee” John Donne Times a ticking truss.
  10. led to extra judicial killings of drug users, low level dealers and the deaths of many not involved in the drugs trade.
  11. Just because some of us don’t post on them doesn’t mean we accept them.
  12. It really isn’t.
  13. Great article on truss' disintegrating premiership and the aftermath of that disastrous press conference [which proved she cannot take hostile questioning - no wonder she dodged so many interviews during the leadership contest]. ''Despite the mutinous mood, Truss had already signed up to address a meeting of the parliamentary party that evening. After an initial question praising the move to subsidise energy bills – including a plea to ensure the public actually knew about it – Truss was hit with a barrage of hostile questions over her economic plans. The questions received more support than Truss’s answers. One northern MP asked her whether infrastructure projects that had increased in price would now be funded or scrapped. There was an awkward pause. “It obviously just dawned on her that these things are going to need more money – and they’re crucial to growth,” said an MP present. The worst moment came when Robert Halfon told the prime minister her actions in the mini-budget – which caused market turmoil, an increase in mortgage bills and a collapse in political support – had undone a decade’s work.'' https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/16/liz-truss-lost-authority-tory-party-prime-minister-conservative-mps-kwasi-kwarteng
  14. Nope, just sources whose reporting you can't refute, so you resort to your usual lazy tropes...
  15. As I say, the party is riven with division and truss' incompetence has only made things worse. ''A group of senior MPs will meet on Monday to discuss the prime minister’s future, with some wanting her to resign within days and others saying she is now “in office but not in control”. Some are threatening to publicly call on Truss to stand down after the implosion of her tax-cutting programme. In a rearguard action to prop up the prime minister, her cabinet allies tonight warned MPs they would precipitate an election and ensure the Tories were “finished as a party” if they toppled a second leader in just a few months.'' https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/15/tories-talks-ousting-truss-rescue-party
  16. Civil war continues within the tory party. No one is in charge anymore. ''Another MP said there was no point hanging around: "We need to purge the current incumbents," they said, suggesting it would be a mistake to wait. "The idea we would lose any credibility we have left by removing her is for the birds because we have no credibility." It is one of the easiest things in politics to say: "We can't go on like this." And yet, very often, it does.'' #lameducktruss
  17. New chancellor non too complimentary about truss. One wonders who is now pulling the strings. truss seems to lost control of policy direction after her disastrous first few weeks. #lameducktruss https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/15/jeremy-hunt-difficult-decisions-ahead-truss-mistakes?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  18. Thank Gaia for that.
  19. But it is the start of a new day, so after midnight, it can be considered the morning. Mornings can be dark as well. As in 00.01 AM- the clue is in the AM… I do agree however that it isn’t a big deal.
  20. Just after midnight can be considered morning. It is the start of a new day after all.
  21. truss’ u turns (a defining feature of her premiership) have come about because her ludicrous and poorly thought out budget has been a disaster for the U.K. economy. It’s her inability to explain how her plans were to be funded that caused the pound and stock/bond markets to react negatively. It’s her own party who have forced these u turns as they have realised that she really doesn’t know what she is doing beyond parroting her tax cut blah blah blah. It has nothing to do with the media and everything to do with truss’s incompetence. She is going to find it hard to survive this. #truss-a gift to the opposition but not the country.
