  1. I'll report the error to the developers. Just can't get the staff machines these days.
  2. A cowboy appeared before St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. 'Have you ever done anything of particular merit?' St. Peter asked. 'Well, I can think of one thing,' the cowboy offered. 'On a trip to the Black Hills out in South Dakota, I came upon a gang of bikers who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So, I approached the largest and most tattooed biker and smacked him in the face, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring, and threw it on the ground. I yelled, 'Now, back off or I'll kick the s*** out of all of you! St. Peter was impressed, 'When did this happen?' 'Couple of minutes ago
  3. I admit it's not my idea. When we built the house our contractor put full width lintels above all the doors and above and below the window openings. 12 years later nothing has moved or cracked ????
  4. The smallest blocks should be fine if you render on both sides, the rendering adds a lot of strength. I would make the concrete lintel run the full distance from post to post with re-bar the full length.
  5. Despite a couple of miserable days late spurt saw us zip past the 1MWh generation milestone for March ????
  6. Ask whch provider the local resorts use, I would imagine all the major players are available in the area.
  7. This is a 15 year old thread, to avoid confusion it's now
  8. I asked the new AseanNow ChatGPT system, looks like I'm redundant ????
  9. I tried it with a real forum question. Looks like I'm redundant!! ???? Getting a beer and my coat
  10. I've been playing with the beast and a question to which anyone who lived through the 80's would know. "What happened on the eighth day?" With just that it fluffed "not enough information" So I added "What happened on the eighth day, Hazel O'Connor" It got the reference, and discussed the song (badly) but didn't actually answer the question. Finally, I asked it "did you know that the answer to "what happened on the eighth day" is "a machine just got upset"?" It didn't get annoyed and nuke us all, but ... Adding Hazel O'Connor got ...
  11. True, but it won't protect from brief interruptions which are enough to cause unexpected shutdowns. A UPS will invariably include surge protection too.
  12. IF we are "training" the beast, how do we tell it that it has provided an incorrect answer?
  13. Yup, a UPS is the animal in question. Do be aware that most of them only last long enough for you to save your work if the power is actually out rather than just a blip. If you want to continue working for hours then you're going to need a generator as well. What's your actual requirement?
  14. I'm sorry, but I really can't see the point, maybe someone can enlighten this old duffer ???? Google gives better (like accurate) answers to factual questions. I can have meaningful interactions with actual humans.
  15. Let's shuffle this over to the Pets forum.
  16. Asimov had it in 1953! "... someday someone will telephone the planet Earth and get the answer, 'Honest, boss, there's nobody here anywhere but us complicated thinking machines!' " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody_Here_But— Read the whole short story here: - https://www.novelforfree.com/the-complete-stories_chapter_nobody-here-but_45493_4530.html
  17. As our OP has his answer and the bickering has started.
  18. I'm not sure quite what, but something isn't quite right with this cover I admit it, I do rather like these guys (and gal) take on hit tracks ????
  19. This is the PEA calculator, it's not perfect but ...
