  1. Where's the diode shown in the PL20 manual? The only mention of a diode in my copy of the manual is to say that it doesn't need a "catch diode" across the relay coil (although I'd probably install one anyway).
  2. If you do decide to bring/ship the beast as a complete unit and have a high end GPU I would unplug it, bubble wrap it and pack it separately or put it loose inside the case with more bubble wrap. These things are pretty heavy and not well supported when in their slots. A slight misinterpretation of "Fragile" as "Football" may result in it ripping off the main board connector or snapping the GPU board at its own connector (or both), neither of which is good. It might also be worth removing the CPU heatsink for similar reasons although they are usually rather better fixed. Also, although it won't apply to our OP since he's in Sweden, if you come from a 120V country make sure your PSU is set to 220V or is of the "universal" 100-250V type before plugging it in.
  3. Not new, but it circulated back into my eyeline today. As a U.S. Navy ship was approaching the pier at it's homeport, the captain noticed a sailor on the flight deck waving semaphore flags wildly. On the pier, a young lady was standing on top of a station wagon waving flags back at the sailor. Concerned, the captain asked a signalman, "What messages are those two people sending to each other?" The signalman replied, "Captain, he is sending the letters FF, and she is flashing back the letters EF ." The captain ordered the sailor to the bridge. When he arrived, the captain asked, "Who is that woman and why are you exchanging the signals FF and EF ?" The sailor replied, "Captain, that is my girlfriend, and she wants to eat first."
  4. Yup, strip the beast down to mainboard, drive and any plug in cards, buy a cheap box and PSU here.
  5. Check out the used LiFePO4 golf cart cells in my Car Port thread, you just need 4 of them and a 4S BMS. The ones on our solar are going just fine. The DALY Smart BMSs work pretty well, have BlueTooth and aren't silly money. EDIT Do you have the charger manual? pl20.pdf
  6. I'd use VCT, run it in the trunking with the pipes. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/pks-vct-4x15-vct-4x25-20-i2861128502-s10436703739.html? 20m for just over 1,100 Baht.
  7. I don't recall the "measures" being mind-bendingly effective last year. Little has changed this year apart from the possible reduction in traffic due to the covid situation, a reduction which the government will likely take credit for of course.
  8. I had a double deposit a couple of times in the UK. UK employer, UK bank. They simply reversed the deposit and it appeared on my statement as "Correction". Note that the bank didn't call me or anything, they just fixed the error, no drama, no worry. I agree that tagging it as "Purchase of Goods" is counter-intuitive.
  9. Yeah, there was method in my suggestion for 2.5mm2. In the future one may wish to sell the house, the new owners would very likely want to install Thai outlets. 4mm2 cable with it's associated 32A breaker would constitute a fire hazard when used with the unfused 16A Thai plugs and outlets.
  10. It varies with manufacturer. Many sockets use the original method of shutters opened by the earth pin, longer than the other pins and hence opening the shutters before the other pins engage, alone. Alternatively, shutters may be opened by simultaneous insertion of line and neutral pins. Some later designs require all three pins to be inserted simultaneously. There is a specific requirement in the standard to ensure that Europlugs and other two-pin plugs may not be used with BS 1363 sockets "It shall not be possible to operate a shutter by inserting a 2-pin plug into a 3-pin socket-outlet." Of course 2-pin "adaptors" which operate the shutters and then allow the use of a Europlug are readily available outside of the UK.
  11. A pukka BS1363 outlet should be impossible to open the shutters with pressure on just one side. Of course the Chinese versions ... You can get "real" ones in Malaysia or Singapore. That said, I wouldn't use them here. If you do decide to use them don't install ring-finals, stick to 2.5mm2 radials on 20A breakers.
  12. One assumes that the annotation "maximum" (on the right) denotes maximum cooling, so wind it up to 9. If in doubt get a freezer thermometer to check it's cold enough.
  13. Whatever you do it's going to be a world of hurt, and it will only get worse if you delay and more documents use the "wrong" spelling. If it's that much of a deal, get the WP changed now. Keep copies of all the associated documentation for when the wheel comes off. Tax should be OK as it uses your tax ID code.
  14. I first read about this idea as an apprentice in the 70's and it's been an engineering dream since before Sputnik. Interesting NASA report from 1977 19770010746.pdf It's becoming more practical as technology advances, but putting panels in deserts with long wires is still significantly cheaper.
  15. Today's peak level was a bit lower than yesterday's "Nervous". Let's hope it continues before the next high tides from 5th to 11th November.
  16. There's actually a yellow section of that indicator below the red bit. I'm assuming that the red part means "risky". EDIT The red sign says "Critical"!
  17. Not sure if this has already been posted. Live level reporting from PakKret. http://www.thaiclouderp.com/video/pakkret_water_report.html
  18. Those who use the TMD weather radar may be interested to know that the Nongchok and Nongkhame (Bangok Radar) sites are back online after many months of deadness ???? Unfortunately the two (120 and 240km) Suvarnabhumi sites have gone off ???? https://weather.tmd.go.th/bma_nck.php#
  19. The doctor arrived, and examined the baby, checked his weight, and being a little concerned, asked if the baby was breast-fed or bottle-fed. 'Breast-fed,' she replied. 'Well, strip down to your waist,' the doctor ordered. She did. He pinched her nipples, pressed, kneaded, and rubbed both breasts for a while in a very professional and detailed examination. Motioning to her to get dressed, the doctor said, 'No wonder this baby is underweight. You don't have any milk.' 'I know,' she said, 'I'm his Grandma, but I'm glad I came.'
  20. Probably, unless you actually find the other end of it/them it's going to remain a mystery.
  21. Seriously, lord only knows, it was wired by a Thai sparks They could be "spare" neutrals that he ran and then decided that the whole installation would be OK on one neutral wire. This would of course be worrying.
