What do the deans think the difference is between a "provisional government that wins acceptance from all sides" and an election? Their comments are preposterous and this is thought leadership teaching Thai future.
Actually it isn't preposterous. You have clearly misunderstood.
The difference is that they are appointed by mutual agreement from each constituency, rather than elected by a majority. That is a clear difference.
It is actually a way of appointing an emergency government that is as close as possible to what everyone is happy with on a temporary basis to fill the political void.
There would be arguments, but it would end up a mixture of who red shirts want from the north to act of their behalf and what people from the south want to represent their interests, instead of a steamroller government forced into power by one set of idealists.
This is not an uncommon form of government in these circumstances.
Can you give an example of a country that has adopted this system?

The deans need to have their heads examined.
All the intelligent professions are against this government.
However I see one redshirt headmaster in Ayutthaya has forced all his pupils to march on a pro-government rally. That's a bit sick don't you think?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
So what ? Are you insinuating that unless someone has a minimum IQ they don't get the right to vote?
That's a new one

I am absolutely amazed at the conspicuous absence of another language school being mentioned whose proprietor usually jumps at the opportunity for self promotion

Do you really believe Iran would promote anything that might result in the majority Sunni population taking over Syria?
Somehow I don't think so....
I don't understand because I thought Iran and Syria were allies?

It will be ignored pretty much, just like last time. The only thing it will do is allow the Govt the option of using more serious measures against protestors should they choose to do so.
as an example………….. actually arresting the leader of the demonstrators who already has an arrest warrant hanging over him

More BS from TAT.
I am in daily contact with my colleagues in China and they all know about the problems in BKK as it is being widely reported across the Chinese medai spectrum.
TAT seems confident that they know nothing......lol They are in denial as usual.
Do these people just sit around in a group smoking something all day?
In today's Bangkok Post there is an article about hotels entering a price war with some realistic and interesting comments from the chief executive of Dusit Hotel Group.
He is worth listening to, whereas these other people are not.

Haha, OMG, nobody is being enslaved. . . . Relax, take deep breathes. Life is good. You have nothing to worry about unless you are plotting to do something real bad. On second thought, if you lamatop and the other "what if, what if, what if" guy, puck, get something out of thinking your special enough to get spied on or it makes you happy to worry about everything and hate on the government . . . so be it. I just thought people like this were only in Montana or in the movies.
Life is good, economy is great . . . Go buy some property while interest rates and prices are good and stop fretting.
Hush litle baby dont you cry, moma gona sing you a lalaby
yes it seems he has never heard the about the example of the frog in boiling water

And they call this a non-violence protest. Threading people and unlawful entry. Anti-government protester motto is "Do as I say not as I do"
People who support the would be dictator Suthep should be paying close attention to the new law they have just passed yesterday in the Ukraine .
It bans any unauthorised installation of tents, stages or amplifiers in public places and those who violate the law now face a hefty fine or detention. Another provision provides a punishment of one year of corrective labour for slandering government officials

That could be your selling point . The fact that you regard it as a career because many Thai’s that I have spoken to in the hospitality industry only consider it as being a job . Good luck

This twitter message on the Thailand live thread
Bangkok: Suthep leads protesters from Hua Chang Bridge into city; another group goes to National Police HQ to demand Ban Tad Thong bombing progress
Good! So if he goes to the police headquarters himself he can hand himself in at the same time

How about taking action against the nutjob who said he would arrest the democratically elected Prime Minister and Cabinet Members?
it's Alice in Wonderland stuff isn't it?
Yesterday it was said that Suthep was demanding answers from the police?
The same guy they are meant to be arresting……………………… any day now

Beware Thailand... while you are tightening your laws on immigration, Myanmar will be hot on your heals ready to mop up many farangs that you piss off.
Must be tempting for those who are pissed off with visa runs or trying to find 400,000 baht every year.
The article only says there will be a permanent residence system for foreigners. It does not say what the conditions for obtaining residency will be.
Might be the same as with Thailand.
I doubt that very much, after all Burma was part of our commonwealth, I hope the UK will be one of those exempt from visas. Good for you Myanmar !
Even India doesn't do that so don't expect too much

Seems people including Red Shirts are upset with their daily lives being destroyed by protesters. Even Red Shirts need to earn a living either driving vans or taxis.
Pity we didn't hear the same complaints a few years ago last time Bangkok was under siege . . .
There were. But, that was then and this is now. Try to keep up.
As if there were any difference................try to GROW up!!
erm……….. The difference couldn't have been more startling…………….?
A few years ago they were fighting for their right against a dictatorial government who wouldn't agree to hold general elections.
Now they are fighting in the name of democracy and for Thailand not to end up with a fascist dictator.

If there was a drum roll to all this by now there would be holes in the drums and the drumsticks would have worn down to match stick size …………………. get on with it <deleted> !

It is not that far. When the plane levels off at cruising altitude it's almost time to descend again.
Save the money on the airline ticket and use it to pay for more upmarket ground transportation such as a rental car with driver for your elderly travelling companions which they might find more comfortable than the traditional Khmer tuk tuk’s or taxi motorbikes

John Sudworth on BBC had this piece today
The protesters now occupying a number of road junctions in central Bangkok refused to attend. Whatever the timing, they intend to sabotage the poll, claiming that the prime minister will once again buy victory from millions of farmers with a massive programme of pork barrel kickbacks.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-25723902
has any mention been made of new pork barrel kickbacks this time? Surely they wouldn't dare this time around. And wouldn't it be interesting if the PTP simply go to the polls based on their track record so far?

So you seek to disqualify the quote from a “ Nazi policy sympathiser from the 1930s “…….
So what about the former Ranking Member of the House Banking/Financial Services Committee, Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations to oversee the Federal Reserve and U.S. monetary policy?
Specific reference to fractional reserve banking at 7.36 minutes into the video
You miss the point yet again. It was an approving quote. Gawd, some people are extremely slow.
Re the video, that would be the Republican nutcase Ron Paul patron saint of the End of The World Buy Gold Now Team.
Is there anybody out there who meets your standards?

Not so long ago it would have been the retired cop that would have intervened to try to calm things down and bring some common sense to this kind of situation…………………
what with this kind of trend and KnockOut , America has some real social problems
