They’re going the wrong way. Not only should they not do this, mushrooms should also be legalised. -
Throwaway statement. Of course it does, but should expect flack when it repeatedly threatens to annihilate another. The best way it can defend it’s people is if its rulers stop hurting them and change its ways. Some bs from Netanyahu over the years for sure, but Iran has been repeatedly setback in its goal to get a nuke. That’s why they secretly build underground, right, because it’s for ‘peaceful’ purposes. 🤔

Would add, don’t dive into the first place. Get a short termer then go hunting in an area you like.., there are condos all over.

Oh Koh Phi Phi, What have you become?

Well cheap too—car rentals, flights, hotels and property etc—and exchange rates very favourable post-97. People didn’t walk around staring at their phones and bumping into things either (because there weren’t any). 🙂 Hey-ho, nothing lasts. Just think ourselves lucky we got to experience it. -

Similar with most tourist places. Pai was a delight in the 90s, with 50 baht bamboo huts, no traffic lights, chilled locals. Now is loaded with overpriced resorts, way too many people and noisy Israelis, rammed street markets, roaming police etc. Never did Phi Phi (and never will now), but Ao Nang was cool. Ridiculous now. Thailand of yesteryear is done. No point in lamenting it. Try another country, though I fear pretty much nowhere else will come close to how Thailand was. -
Take it you scored less than 89?

I thought it would get easier here at older age

More garbage. Jeez, what are you people smoking? CM is still Thailand’s second city, a provincial capital and a historically and culturally significant centre. Phuket and Pattaya? 😂😂😂 They are tourists hangouts first and foremost. Hat Yai would vie with CM for second city status, but the above are not in the running. Take the visitors away and you have a pair of ghost towns. Not even that—Phuket has a quaint old town but Pattaya is a rambling eyesore with a beach. Just don’t get the hate for Chiang Mai, though if you’re a mongerer you of course got limited options. -

A big issue is how you carry yourself and interact with the locals. If one wears that typical westerner scowl, never smiles and always looks bedraggled (whatever age), you’ll get the appropriate response… same any country. Speaking a bit and actually interacting also helps. 😔 -

Utter garbage. Don’t know why you guys stay here if you think that. -
Don’t really want the US getting involved, but what’s the alternative here in getting this plant shutdown? If Iran does its usual tactic of coming to the table and stalling, it’ll eventually have the bomb. They won’t give up that goal. From Israel’s perspective, short of the US chucking a couple bunker busters at it or a full scale invasion, last resort is Israel nuking the site… and we definitely don’t want that.

The thought of reincarnation is very inspiring...

^^ Flesh is flesh and everything rots, but who’s to say what the universe has in store? Humans can be terribly shortsighted and don’t really know wt F is going on even right in front of them at the best of times. That it made the atom and can build the brain that it is aware that it’s aware is incredible. Then there’s the quantum world—‘something from nothing’ and the rest of it. What if there’s a spiritual realm? People will discount it out of hand, but something could easily be going on behind the curtain. Personally, the thought of being reincarnated is horrifying. Coming back as a cockroach or rat might not be so bad. Op is looking at it from the perspective of a highly advanced emotional brain. It might be bliss. But being brought back as a disabled, abused kid to parents in Gaza, for example… no thanks, I’d sooner there be nothingness like our friend alludes to above. Who decides? Apparently, if you’re into all that, there is no choice, the soul does. The thinking is, if it hasn’t grown or gotten much out of this time (let’s face it, most people bumble through life with the blinkers on achieving little), or overcome suffering or become enlightened etc, then you’ll be thrown back into the mix. You wouldn’t carry any of this knowledge through since what would be the point. With that, logically 😋 if you don’t want to come back, do your darnedest to overcome any struggle through awareness, become enlightened, definitely don’t top yourself. Happy Saturday. 🙂
