boom boom and butterfly are used around the world.....not 'bar girl' language only.low class Thai language mixed with some english, sometimes slang, that is used among bargirls.
examples:
pumpui
boom boom
butterfly
etc.
pompoy/pumpoi is debateable.

Why not?
Great place, cheap lifestyle, hot women that does it for me.
Also only 8 hours from Australia. to frikn easy.
-
Customers like me like cheap beer, not a certain brand.
Imported stuff is usually expensive. Thats 1 reason I like Thailand, its cheap.
-
Just plain ignorant you say.......well leave then if it bothers you that much.
Get over it.

People keep mentioning I should get 'educated'.
We all know alot of the cash gets sucked up. Perhaps some of the people who tell me to get 'educated' should get 'educated' themselves and learn to read the op better. Its in black and white and basic english.
All I asked is what projects people have seen or people that have been helped in Thailand?
We all know these places use up perhaps as much as 90% of donated money. Alot.
That would leave 100grand in every million. At least.
Thats alot of cash in Thailand.
So wheres it being spent?
ps, please dont tell me to get 'educated' anymore.

To many seem to think there is 'bar girl' language.....
Please explain?
-
Your correct. No such thing as 'bar girl' talk.So does there exist something as "typical bargirl talk"?
And then I'm not talking about a foreigner who can barely string a sentence together in Thai, and mixes his English with the usual suspects, such as kee nieow, ting tong, top salop salai, and other words he obviously didn't learn in a language school. That surely will raise an eyebrow
But are there words or expressions that are used exclusively by bargirls and no other Thais?
I have never heard of any, so I would say not. If that is so then "typical bargirl talk" doesn't really exist.
To many think Thai must be learned in a Thai language school. Thats BS.
-
Huh? jai dee is used. Where do you get that from?Heart talk
I always suspect anyone that start talking about good hearts, jai dee ....
Not normal talk among the Thais I mix with.
But it's never just one word that gives them away, usually they say all of them, multiple times, in the first 15 minutes.
-
who you calling newbie?I get tired of newbies thinking that 'kee neeiow' means sticky shit - it doesnt!
Also 'farang kee ngok' doesn't mean farang bird-shit.
my Thais probably better than yours.
If you would like a competition to decide this on TV, just let me know.
The loser has to add newbie to their TV name ok?...sounds good to me....just let me know.

Easy David, found everything in Tescos. Just substituted mince beef with mince chicken. It amazed the MIL and all her friends.
Got pancake mix in Tesco the 1 in the bottle you just add water and shake.
Another 1 they loved was real scrambled eggs on toast. You know when you put a lil milk in and beat the eggs then scrape the pan(wok) as it cooks then serve on toast.
If breads to hard to find then as an Aussie you know how to make damper Im sure.
If your no where near a good supermarket then Id advise finding 1 befor you head off to the village and stock up on things that are easy enough to cook like spag bog.

Really!...tell us how did it end up giving you liver cancer?..interesting.I worry about the sheltered life you have led David - never been camping before? The village is either going to make a man of you or send you screaming back to town
Sorry, I'll stop making fun at your expense. You'll probably have to shell out on some ingredients at the market yourself if you are to avoid internal organ soup, fiery bamboo curry, somtam and the like. Perhaps buy them one of those round barbecue tops with holes if they haven't got one. Makes good wholseome barbecued meat and fish and nice healthy vegetable soup in the ring around the edge. They should know how to do it i you buy the gear and some fresh meat. Most Thais are used to falang not liking spicy food so don't be too ashamed to state your preferences.
Under no circumstamces eat somtam with rotten fish ('palaar') or laarp plaa with uncooked fish. Could give you parasites (it did me), followed by liver cancer.

Best ever was when I went to Tescos in Chumphae near our place, and bought the ingredients for spaghetti bolognese. They loved it bigtime. Even mil was raving about it! Then served em up panckes! loved em.Without the internet isolation will set in...
Luckily, internet, unless there is a storm, won't be a problem ... so that's one saving grace ...
We arn't married, but I'll use the term Mother-In-Law (MIL)
The MIL and I get on fine ... but how did you cope with the food served when you first went there?
In the past, my lady always made sure there were some Thai Fish Cakes around.
So some spicy is OK ... a lot of spice is a problem ...
I do wish to look like I fit in ... but also want to some palatable food.

Cmon David, its fantastic living at the farm!
So you gotta have a different shower and slightly different toilet.....big deal! thats 1 maybe 2 cold showers a day which is beautifully refreshing with tropical heat and squat for a poop maybe couple times a day...not a big deal!
I put ceilings in wifes parents house which for a cheap outlay is worth every cent and helps with bugs and insects and keeps the heat down. Perhaps buy a bug zapper from Bunnings here that would help with mozzies or take mozzie coils.
I miss the farm everytime I leave, its like going back in time 100 years our village. Our house is alot better than some others, we have brick walls, now ceilings windows with glass which is better than some houses around so its basic living but I really love it and nowdays stay away from the Issan hotels.
Have you got a microwave?, fridge? music?...gotta have at least these items.
Havnt you ever stayed at the farm before?.....man thats the good life, enjoy!

Thats a load of bs. If you beleive for 1 second theres not much left then your mistaken badly unless you personally worked in these NGO's and had access to see their cash, your wrong.
..Nothing to do with me not doing my homework....If you do your homework you will find that of all the money donated to various charities, most deliver only a small amount to where the money is actually supposed to go. Many are in the ten percent range. The rest goes to pay greedy executives.
Your answer hasnt answered my question.
I suggest that you read and concentrate a bit more. After the administration costs are paid, there is very little money left.

Tears of the black tiger huh!...like Rambo meets Clint Eastwood! Some people obviously have a low opinion of Thai cinema based on some of the comedies it produces. But judging Thai cinema by them is as stupid as judging Hollywood by such puerile rubbish as The Hangover (1 and 2), the American Pie series etc.
Off the top of my head, some of my favourite Thai films (some of which have already been mentioned by others) are, in no particular order:-
Bangkok Dangerous
One Take Only
2499 Dang Bireley's and Young Gangsters
Nor Chor (released in the West with the unfortunate, and misleading, title of Bangkok Hell)
Bang Rajan
Beautiful Boxer
The Unborn
Necromancer
Shutter; possibly the best ghost film to date, from anywhere.
and no list would be complete without two wonderful films which I could not see anyone making in the West:
Bangkok Loco
Tears of the Black Tiger.
Edit:
Apologies for giving the English titles rather than the Thai ones; my Thai isn't that good. All of the above are available on DVD with English subtitles in the UK and/or Thailand.

So free red bulls for all? There is a small Christian Church near here that get financial support from US and visiting Chinese Christian MIssionaries, it serves an active congration of some 30-40 people which spans the local demographic although to be fair there are no truely destitude-poor that attend.
As for giving directly to the people, the most recent event was a promotional give-away to the people in the market place by Red-Bull's marketing people.

So no "busses" needed by yourself?I have a good friend who over the years has invested with me in several different business ventures... About 12 years ago after I had started "Vacationing" in Thailand he spoke to me about an Orphanage that their Church in the States that he and his wife attended was supporting... He said that the Church had supported this place for almost 12 years with monthly donations from the church of between $6,000 and $7,000 USD's, but the Director in Thailand was asking for $35,000 USD's to purchase a "Bus" for transporting the 12 to 14 residents to various functions and locations... Having never been to Thailand and only seeing Photos of the Orphanage, they asked me to take the $35,000 in a Cashier's Check and present it to the Director personally... The place was located about 80km outside of Chaing Mai, and when I arrived (unannounced) I found nothing but a small village with maybe 20 to 25 Thai houses, and found the "Director" (also village Puyai Ban) living in a very nice Westernstyle house with maybe 20 Rai of land and a nice Honda sedan and 2 Toyota pickup trucks, nothing older than 3 years old... After asking around found out that they did not have any children and never had any, but everyone in the village said that they were very rich... After informing my friend and his wife of the situation, they obviously did not want the check given out, and requested that I obtain information regarding how they could contact the local police to report this obvious criminal act... The church ended up spending almost $10,000 US working with a lawyer out of Bangkok and ended up with "Nothing can be done" as their only answer to their situation / complaints...
I took several years for them to starting "Trusting" again, but now that I am living in Thailand, the church has started supporting a small Orphanage & school about 50km from where I live, and now receive full accounting for every dollar spent...
