Guess silly to even think the (Great) British Embassy will provide any level of assistance ..

Needs to contact the Nicole Sturgeon ..she'll fly the flag ..

<deleted> are you talking about, widow kranky is going to fly to Thailand to assist?. some people need to grasp reality and understand what the consulate system does, it's not the green flag and jumps into action when you call.

More fodder for the animal control brigade.  Surely the Thais can come up with some middle ground on the soi dog problem.  Like many contentious issues these days, politics, etc., the dominant voices are at extreme, opposite ends of the spectrum.

Kill the obvious soi dogs and dump them in a mass grave at the edge of town.  Sorted!

Or, despite inconvenient reality, deny there's a problem and blame the human victims for their unlucky misfortune.  Som nam na.

The people feeding the soi dogs should at least feed the alpha males first so they are less aggressive and why don't the government supply food with contraceptives in to stop them breeding?

I have smashed my face into the pavement running away from soi dogs tripping over the uneven paving stones, my view is let the Cambodians solve the problem.

I'm not sure why the laptop would find more streams?  Both using Exodus?  Maybe your stick doesn't have a good internet connection?  It's one reason I didn't go with a stick.  Many reports say their wireless connections are not that good.

It was both my Leotech Smartbox X2 Storage & Stick, it's got me interested now so will compare with my other boxes.

Indigo installs only addons that are in the Fusion repo, as if that is the only repo in Kodi world (lol), and at the same time removes other addons that aren't affiliated with TVaddons..

    http://koditips.com/indigo-deletes-addons-installs-itself/

Glad you told me that but I was just looking for info to make my old stick useful and I tried it on a fresh install in another box and most of the addons don't seem very good. I tried the Apollo build yesterday and it's just way too much stuff so going to try some lite versions of new builds. Another thing I noticed tonight was a difference between my laptop and an android box running kodi, in exodus I wouldn't get the same list of streams for the same film - the laptop always found more streams.

  5. I don't know if this is of help to anyone but I'm playing about with an Android stick (looks like a usb stick but plugs into the HDMI port on the tv) which runs Android 4.1.2 with 1GB of memory and I've been trying to get Exodus to work on Kodi 14.2. I was unable to install Exodus until I found these 2 articles, the 1st page is the bog standard installing  exodus addon

    https://www.tvaddons.ag/exodus-kodi-jarvis/

which tells you that Indigo Tool is required which is then covered on the next page.

    https://www.tvaddons.ag/indigo-kodi-jarvis/

I'm very impressed with the indigo tool for installing addons and it really is simple to use, this might be of some use to anyone who doesn't want to search through repos. The program lists itself in the video addons directory as well and even has a config wizard to 'automatically configure kodi with the best addons and tweaks' (their words). I'll try this wizard on one of my newer boxes to see how it turns out.

The headline says An Irish tourist was critically injured  Did you fail geography at school?

Headline -Irishman 'critically wounded' in BKK airport plunge

Lead Line - BANGKOK — An Irish tourist was critically injured Thursday morning after falling from the fourth floor at Suvarnabhumi Airport, police said, describing the plunge as intentional.

This was reported one week ago:-

"Turkish Airlines reported a 2016 net loss of $77 million, reversed from a net profit of $1.7 billion for the previous year.

The Istanbul-based carrier reported a $291 million loss from main operations for the year, reversed from an $895 million profit in 2015."

Now they can blame it all on America.

They did buy a lot of aircraft in the pursuit of global domination.

For Turkey's national carrier, the setback comes as it prepares to relocate to a 10 billion euro (9 billion pounds) third airport in Istanbul, billed by the developer as the world's largest and championed by President Tayyip Erdogan as a megaproject that will cement Turkey's global standing.

I don't think it's going to be required with the way Erdogan is going as most Europeans will boycott Turkey & Turkish Airlines for holidays & transport. It's awful transiting through Istanbul as a Brit flying to the UK as you have to go through 3 security checks ( I like flying Turkish Airways), I think it's the same for US citizens so it's probably restrictions our governments make.

I also think the ban is to do with helping US airlines as you can still take your electronics on board US airlines on the same routes.

Unless they totally modernise the ticket purchase method the event will be a complete failure, no one will travel thousands of miles and hope they can buy a ticket at the gate, and what about all the overseas motor sport travel companies that offer the complete package, they need to drag them selves into the 21st century.

I saw for the superbikes a paddock pass for 90 euros and the pit lane lounge for 320 euros online.

If you use torrents - you can get all the popular premium TV commercial free, and in HD.

Alternatively, try and find a software version of the box in question.  For example: when  Directv hacking was in vogue, software versions of their receivers and decoder cards were available. I would suggest searching forums that deal with hacking.

    Cheers

Kodi will run on pc & mac. There are android emulators for pc and the best are bluestacks and koplayer as mobdro only runs on android but this is a bit hit and miss as the current mobdro version isn't compatible with any of the android emulators I've used at the moment. This changes with modro updates, some work and some don't.

I have VPN and actually tried to do that at one stage. Foxtel refused o have anything to do with me.

    Another path to try.

My Aussie mates have got a bar in Ban Phe, Rayong to pay for the subscription and as they like a tipple it's in the bars interest to do this. It's a bit more expensive than I remembered but still good value if you're into it I think as you can watch the games on demand anytime.

    Thanks for that.

I'll give them a try in a few hours time when the season starts!

I found this for you as well but you will need a vpn (virtual private network) with a server in Australia to watch the games on ch7 free to air.

    http://www.afl.com.au/tv-radio/broadcastguide

I just remembered I watch the footie with some Aussie mates and they have subscribed to the official stream and it's not expensive, will find the link for you.

I'm not British so one of my qualms about Pulse is that there may be too much UK content (I'm not interested in soccer) and not enough of reasonable US channels. I have checked their guides and it seems every UK channel available is listed, but little from elsewhere.

As an Australian I'm well aware that most programming from there is crap, all I really want is a cheap path to the AFL. I think Pulse has A1, but can't see it in the guide.

you can always try watching online at https://www.vipbox.bz/aussie-rules but as always make sure your popup blocker is on.

So fly Emirates to Dubai (or others) in that direction with you laptop and guess what will happen to your laptop if you are flying on to UK or USA, you will be donating it to Dubai, because it is not going on a flight out of there that is for sure. Looks like next on the list will be, sorry I cannot spell it but begins with a T

I read yesterday that any flights with a connecting flight you will have to put your electronic devices in the hold luggage at the departure point. Before this ban you were asked to hand carry your laptop and electronics as they couldn't guarantee they wouldn't be stolen but also because of the risk of lithium batteries catching fire in the aircraft hold. I'm an avid reader and my Kindle is almost essential in the cabin as I read not watch movies on long haul flights, there will be some irate passengers on overnight flights when people have to go back to reading books with the overhead light on.

  15. I'm surprised anyone is going in the sea in Rayong at the moment as it's still full of rubbish washed up from the storms from down south, I've never seen the beach here so full of rubbish. See pics below, the 2nd shows the Thai's attitude to taking their rubbish home with them ......

We have some Russian guests staying and they are amazed that no one cleans the beach, the restaurant vendors clean their patch of the beach and burn the rubbish.

At some point in the future, years, decades?, the Kim dynasty will fall due to an internal power struggle. This would provide an opportunity for NK to change its system to something much closer to the current Chinese political set-up with revolving leaders every 10 years or so and more opportunity for free enterprise. There would need to be a lengthy transition period. Years / Decades? after that North Koreans may be able to visit South Korea much more easily allowing North Koreans to question the obvious disparity in wealth. That point may be very interesting as you would have a populus questioning a system of government and that government was part of a sphere of influence of a much larger neighbour. But this is all years and years away.

Bookmark this and come back to it in, say, March 2047. I should still be around.

    I'll be 86, where can I find you I'm in rayong ? .............

USB2 supports 480 Mbps transfer speed, lets say in real life it's only half of that, so 240 Mbps.

The purpose of the HDD is to either transfer a movie file to the media player, and there is no format even 4K that requires such a speed, or to save a downloaded movie file.

I still have to see the first internet connection in Thailand that is able to deliver a download speed from international server of 240 Mbps.

I'm not going to get in an argument over read speeds and you're right but usb falls off badly over time as the controller finds something else to do, just watch a usb to usb transfer using usb 3 fall off. I love usb 3 by the way but it for continuous running it doesn't match sata which reminds me I have an unused SSD I brought from the UK the last time I was back. I'm not upto date on actual figures but my own experience is that usb is way slower.

We have TOT fibre to the house and it was brilliant when it was first installed but now the full speed only seems to work  internally to Thailand, I read that one submarine cable was destroyed so I don't know if this makes a difference. We have a new cable receiving station at one end of the beach so hopefully we will get great international speeds again ....
