  1. I'm wondering how you're certain that he's on an METV. Although he doesn't state so, he appears to be asking about obtaining a new visa exempt or permission to stay. Additionally the METV isn't exactly cheap. As to your question, I just completed my 2nd exit/reentry. Nothing easier. First was to Malaysia, second to Vietnam, with no complications. Just make sure to scrutinize your stamp to make sure the next expiry is 60 days.
  2. I don't believe that there are any other circumstances other than having employer-provided group health coverage at the time of qualification. I applied at 68, just after retiring, and SSA was adamant about documentation of my coverage. I could certainly be wrong, and wish you luck. If you do find any exceptions I'm sure others here would be interested. Good luck
  3. As noted by @gamb00ler, mounting the drives via USB is your best bet. It seems unlikely any damage or decay occurred while not in use, so with luck your data will be intact and accessible. Of course if you used RAID array things get more complex but there are dozens of disc utilities that make recovery easier. Good luck
  4. As noted by @ubonjoe, the visa is effective from it's issuing date. I am on my third METV and was delighted to learn that, at least in the US, it is now issued as an e-visa, which means being spared the expense and time of mailing the passport and other documents which added 10-12 days to the process. My e-visa was approved and downloaded in three days. Of course there's no knowing the future, but had I known I would have had an extra 10-12 days of validity from the time is my arrival in Thailand.
  5. I'm not certain whether you're willing to travel, but Sum Bamboo in the Ruamchok Plaza might work for you. It's inside, but very spacious and airy. The therapists are always masked, are well-trained and are skilled masseuses.
  6. Have you tried running Defender Offline? It's too detailed to cover here but you can find instructions online. Essentially, while logged into your computer, you can go to the security settings and choose Microsoft Defender Offline. The computer will reboot into recovery mode and then do a full scan. It's as close to scanning in Safe Mode as you can get. Good luck.
  7. "U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said last week that AlphaBay was the largest dark web marketplace in history." Curious. Jeff Sessions was the US Attorney General from 2017 to 2018.
  8. Can you open "www.play.google.com" in a browser? If so you may be able to reinstall the Play app.
  9. I just took the Smart Bus from the airport to Paying with a return the same day. ฿100 each way.
  10. Although I applied for the METV in the United States, I was approved in 4 days. Conveniently, it's now an e-visa, saving considerable expense and time.
  11. You might also consider the METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa). It is a 180 day visa with the only caveat being that you must exit/reenter Thailand every 60 days. The cost is $200 USD. Otherwise there are no financial requirements or visits to immigration. Mine was approved via the Los Angeles consulate in 4 days.
  12. I just applied for and was approved for an METV from the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles (US). They requested that I attach the bank statements to an email, with this subject: ADD Doc For Passport No.-xxxxxxxxx_first name. I also attached the signed declaration, for a total of 7 attachments. I can't tell you whether the instruction was specific to this consulate, but 4 days later I was approved. Good luck.
  13. We have one of each. I find the NMax a bit roomier for my long legs, while the shorter gearing makes the Aerox a bit more spritely.
  14. Thanks for the replies. I did decide to take a Tune Protect travel policy which includes COVID cover. I considered a COVID-only policy for 60 days, but as I also planned to purchase a standard travel insurance policy for the duration of my stay, it seemed to make sense to get both with one insurer.
  15. May I am which website you're referring to? Thanks for the input.
  16. Greetings. I am applying for an METV, hoping to enter Thailand in late March. In applying for COVID insurance I'm finding that I can't find a policy that will cover me for the 158 days may be in Thailand. Is it necessary that the coverage be for that entire length off time? If so. Is anyone aware of how to secure such coverage? Thank you.
  17. There are English teachers who teach non-English students how to speak/read/write English (TESOL, TEFL, etc). There are also English teachers who teach in a traditional, content-based school, teaching the finer points of English along with English literature, to native English speakers. If the latter, you will most certainly be expected to prepare your own lesson plans. I can't speak to the former, as I've never done so. It was not clear to me which of these you desire to do.
  18. You might get a more appropriate and precise response to your question if you would indicate the sort of teaching you wish to do.
  19. Bicycle components are pretty universal and are not dependent on the size of the bicycle. Both Cherry Bike and Lek Bike will likely have anything you need. Good luck.
  20. While Whatsapp, Skype and other apps allow voice calls over Wi-Fi, I believe the op is asking about true Wi-Fi calling. Generic Access Network (GAN) allows phone packets to be forwarded to a carrier's data network. The op doesn't specify his carrier, so while their phone allows Wi-Fi calling they will have to determine whether the carrier does as well.
  21. Cookies track behavior on a particular website, and can be useful if you visit the site regularly. They don't track who you are but do track what you're doing on that site. It's easy enough to clear your browser cache, which can include removing all cookies. I'm with OneMoreFarang - I choose the path of least resistance. If I'm visiting a dodgy site I use the Brave browser.
  22. Rooting the phone will quite possibly brick the phone void the warranty, or introduce a host of unintended consequences. And unless you intend to side load APKs of dodgy apps from dodgier sites, you'll end up with a phone hardly worth using. There's a reason why Tukom and others will state up front that they will guarantee nothing. It's also worth remembering that Google develops and maintains Android, and any phone other than an iPhone is using it (Huawei uses a fork of Android AOS). Additionally all apps on the Playstore are vetted/approved by Google and (theoretically) must comply with Google's terms of service. That includes (theoretically) bloat ware and skins from Xiaomi, Samsung, et al. The best advice is what sungod suggested: remove/disable/hide the apps you can. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.
  23. Aside from Home Assistant, OpenHab and Hubitat are possibilities, particularly if you're up to configuring a Raspberry Pi as a hub. You can then connect most (but not all) Z-Wave and ZigBee devices. There a number of "IFTTT" (if this then that) apps can then allow you to create virtually any sort of automation routine. Tedious, and potentially expensive, but it sounds like you've got the background, motivation and means to give it a shot.
  24. Race and racism aside, a thorough reading of the op might raise questions regarding his qualifications, especially given that he's a native English speaker.
