DOH! If he wanted to that he wouldn't have asked the question. There are several reasons why I would not take them out myself.

Lack of gratitude in a Thai relationship
hotandsticky replied to Kenny202's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Pointless, and defensive, comment. Everyone is equal until proved otherwise. Obviously, it does not take long to establish the difference in equality in a relationship between a Farang and an Isaan farm girl. -
Uk visa for Thai girlfriend
hotandsticky replied to dereko169's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
As much as I disagree with that antiquated establishment view of relationships, I agree entirely that it will much harder trying to apply from a boyfriend/girlfriend point of view. A couple can marry out of convenience and live apart for chunks of the year - they would be in a much stronger position with their application. Fair? No, but the fact remains that it is much easier to provide the evidence of a marriage certificate than it is to supply evidence of a "durable relationship for in excess of two years" as an unmarried couple. I think that the OP needs to bite the bullet and marry - cheaply in Thailand, then apply or (my favoured route) in the UK on the back of a fiancee visa. The later has a good chance of success with just the simple criteria for a standard visit visa, plus a registry office booking/enquiry. -
Wine has now become a real luxury in Thailand
hotandsticky replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Wine isn't expensive but, as you inferred, the duty is. Look at Cambodia as an example where wine can be retailed at sensible prices. Spot on re duty reductions and liberalisation - surely to God wine is a better prospect than lao khao. Most Thais are mao after 2/3 glasses of anything so at least make it more palatable/healthy. -
Uk visa for Thai girlfriend
hotandsticky replied to dereko169's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
I will stand corrected but I don't think your GF can stay longer than 6 months on a standard visitor visitor. Get your paperwork together and get her back to Thailand to apply for another visa. I still think that coming to Thailand to marry so she can apply as a wife gives a stronger case. A fiancee visa is another option -
Yes, let's wait and do fork all.............we are good at that. Can't wait to see what else you need for what 'caused' the attack on an 80+ year old guy in a mobility scooter. Perhaps Lee Byer didn't go out with a knife but wrenched it from the pensioner and killed him in self defense?

The Mor Phrom app was good enough for Spain and Belgium.

TAT to Propose Visa Extension for Tourists

Absolute Bu11sh1t. -
They are cute souvenirs and keep your vaccination records in one place. They have no useful purpose if you have Morprom and/or paper evidence of vaccination. I only got one because the office was next door in Buriram hospital.

Retirement visa registration
hotandsticky replied to James207's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Whoever set the rule has clearly never married........ ....or 'galivanted around' as 50+ year old retiree. -
????........and Fat Boy will not be wrong....... If Photoguy21 uses an agent for a marriage extension then he ticks all the boxes (for doing it himself) and just pays the agent to do the legwork.
-
New one on me. I thought the IO could only sign off on retirement. ....ask Paul on Sunday - he will know...
-
I wasn't aware that agents do extensions based on marriage.
-
You said "it would be just as quick to do it yourself". It wouldn't - fact. Speed and convenience is a factor in favour of using an agent. Cost is not.
-
Nobody cares! Stunning contribution.
-
Whilst I agree with you, your argument is flawed if you think that there is more time involved in using an agent. There is not. "Not enough time/effort is saved to warrant paying agents fees" would clinch it for me. (if you have the above evidence)

I have had my Forza 300 for a couple of years and I like it. As an overweight 60+ year old it is the perfect bike for cruising locally at 80-100 kph. It has sufficient acceleration to get away from traffic lights swiftly and the power makes overtaking pretty comfortable. Slight issues with stationary weight but I have managed to deal with most situations (mainly by not creating a situation!). I am unlikely to embark on touring to any great extent and my journeys out of town are 20/30km. I do the occasional light shopping trip so Bobbers like the Rebel 300 are probably out. Friends have said that the latest Forza is not as good to drive as the older version......more importantly the missus doesn't like the Forza and would favour a different bike that she could get her hands in 2/3 years time. What else should I be looking at? The ADV 350?, the XMax?

I am visiting Siem Reap later this month and I was disappointed to see that one of my favourite restaurants (Olive restaurant) has not reopened. I was wondering how much has reopened in Siem Reap and what the current vibe is. I understand from the huge drop in visitors to Angkor Wat that tourist numbers remain decimated.

Never had a knee problem until I slipped on my daily walk last year and banged my right knee. After a week of pain I was able to resume walking although I would get occasional restrictive pain. The pain has become worse over the last 6 months and is currently affecting quality of life and daily activities (walking, bowls etc) Last month I visited a doctor at the naval hospital in Sattahip and an X-Ray was taken. The doctor prescribed Celebrex 200mg (NSAID) plus a muscle relaxant. I completed the prescribed course of tablets (which I think helped) but as want to try to avoid being tablet dependent I did not get a repeat prescription. After a week or so I bought Diclofenac from a local pharmacy to take on an 'as and when needed' basis. The Sattahip doctor said if I did not see an improvement I should consult a knee specialist. I would welcome advice from anyone with a similar conditions, and advice on the options available to me.
