  4. ....or bat.......weather....umpire.......winning/losing the toss......or just bad luck...
  5. ...it was the pop and string mush that I had in mind....................
  6. The music is largely dull as dish water (with a few notable exceptions) unless you get off on Morlam or Kantrum. I don't know anyone who would stay for the music!
  7. Seems that the Royal Thai Embassy are using the same brush! FAQ about Thai visa 1. I would like to go to Thailand for vacation for 2 weeks. I hold British passport. Do I need a visa? Nationals of the United Kingdom and over 40 other countries are eligible to travel to Thailand, for tourism purpose, with the exemption of visa and are permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 30 days. Therefore, you do not need a visa. However, please make sure that you are in possession of a passport valid for at least 6 months, a round-trip air ticket, and adequate finances equivalent to at least 20,000 Baht (450 pounds) per person or 40,000 Baht (900 pounds) per family. Otherwise, you maybe inconvenienced upon entry into the country. Furthermore, foreigners who enter Thailand under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may re-enter and stay in Thailand for a cumulative duration of stay of not exceeding 90 days within any 6-month period from the date of first entry. https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/84498-faq?menu=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072ef
  8. Unfortunately, no one has got round to advising the UK government. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/thailand/entry-requirements#:~:text=Passport validity requirements from when you enter Thailand. Passport validity requirements Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from when you enter Thailand. You could be refused entry to Thailand if your passport is damaged or has pages missing. If you’re a dual national, to avoid problems at immigration, you must leave Thailand on the same passport you used to enter. If you need to renew or apply for a new British passport, see overseas British passport applications.
  9. You have evaded the question. What an Immigration office(r) will say (should you be stupid enough to approach them) is irrelevant.
  10. LOL! Absolutely no risk of not finding one....
  11. Are you really suggesting that such an out of province extension would not be valid,?
  12. Difficult to reassure you if you don't say who the agent is.....
  13. But Churchill knew what he was doing - and was probably fully compos mentis. Slowed down after his stroke and retired at age 80.
  14. I have just ordered this one below:- I will either load Global TV myself - or get my provider in Pattaya to do it.
  15. You certainly are not.
  16. If it is contactless (which I think they all are) then OK.
  17. Good point, I had to give my missus one of my credit cards.
  18. You don’t need an Oyster card, in fact I will discard mine after I leave the U.K. today. You can simply tap your credit card at underground gates and on London Transport buses.
  19. The cash argument is largely a lost battle in the U.K. Having spent the last month in the U.K. I reckon that 90+% of high street transactions are by card. The occasional small retailer will fight the tide, but I only came across one cash only shop - up to 40% were card only, possibly continuing pandemic practices.
  20. Waste of time. The banks have every right to make their own commercial decisions. The non-U.K. approach was brought about by increased regulation. The Farage case is about breach of trust………Coutts terms and conditions would allow them to close any account, for any reason they choose. They screwed up in the handling, and documenting, of that decision - plus ‘leaking’ it to the BBC.
  21. I wonder why it is called "low season".
  22. Yes, I can understand the official line - and VfS echoing that. Always sensible to be guided by that - but the recent evidence indicates that the turnaround time is now much quicker.
  23. I suspect that it is VfS quoting 11 weeks.... It is 'up to'....as per the attached.
  24. Just report the old address until the TM30 is submitted - then report the new address next time.
