Arent you tired of the rubbish
The music is largely dull as dish water (with a few notable exceptions) unless you get off on Morlam or Kantrum. I don't know anyone who would stay for the music!

Passport expiring, reentry ok?
Seems that the Royal Thai Embassy are using the same brush! FAQ about Thai visa 1. I would like to go to Thailand for vacation for 2 weeks. I hold British passport. Do I need a visa? Nationals of the United Kingdom and over 40 other countries are eligible to travel to Thailand, for tourism purpose, with the exemption of visa and are permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 30 days. Therefore, you do not need a visa. However, please make sure that you are in possession of a passport valid for at least 6 months, a round-trip air ticket, and adequate finances equivalent to at least 20,000 Baht (450 pounds) per person or 40,000 Baht (900 pounds) per family. Otherwise, you maybe inconvenienced upon entry into the country. Furthermore, foreigners who enter Thailand under this Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme may re-enter and stay in Thailand for a cumulative duration of stay of not exceeding 90 days within any 6-month period from the date of first entry. https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/84498-faq?menu=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072ef

Passport expiring, reentry ok?
Unfortunately, no one has got round to advising the UK government. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/thailand/entry-requirements#:~:text=Passport validity requirements from when you enter Thailand. Passport validity requirements Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from when you enter Thailand. You could be refused entry to Thailand if your passport is damaged or has pages missing. If you’re a dual national, to avoid problems at immigration, you must leave Thailand on the same passport you used to enter. If you need to renew or apply for a new British passport, see overseas British passport applications.

Retirement visa without the 800,000 baht
You have evaded the question. What an Immigration office(r) will say (should you be stupid enough to approach them) is irrelevant.

Retirement visa without the 800,000 baht
LOL! Absolutely no risk of not finding one....

Retirement visa without the 800,000 baht
Are you really suggesting that such an out of province extension would not be valid,?

But Churchill knew what he was doing - and was probably fully compos mentis. Slowed down after his stroke and retired at age 80.

If it is contactless (which I think they all are) then OK.

Visiting the UK and using buses query
Good point, I had to give my missus one of my credit cards.

Visiting the UK and using buses query
You don’t need an Oyster card, in fact I will discard mine after I leave the U.K. today. You can simply tap your credit card at underground gates and on London Transport buses.

Those who have had their accounts closed by UK banks
The cash argument is largely a lost battle in the U.K. Having spent the last month in the U.K. I reckon that 90+% of high street transactions are by card. The occasional small retailer will fight the tide, but I only came across one cash only shop - up to 40% were card only, possibly continuing pandemic practices.

Those who have had their accounts closed by UK banks
Preferably before they do.

Those who have had their accounts closed by UK banks
Waste of time. The banks have every right to make their own commercial decisions. The non-U.K. approach was brought about by increased regulation. The Farage case is about breach of trust………Coutts terms and conditions would allow them to close any account, for any reason they choose. They screwed up in the handling, and documenting, of that decision - plus ‘leaking’ it to the BBC.

Can we state that tourism in Thailand is "sick"?
I wonder why it is called "low season".

Good News regarding renewal of British Passport
Yes, I can understand the official line - and VfS echoing that. Always sensible to be guided by that - but the recent evidence indicates that the turnaround time is now much quicker.
