I watched a youtube vid recently where the youtuber showed the blood work process at Bangkok Pattaya.  Either the doctor was clueless or simply didn't care to explain the cholesterol data.  Is was hilarious and the youtuber thought he received value for his money.  As I have stated numerous times here, know your numbers and what they mean to you.  The numbers tell so much but if people don't learn a little about their implications they can be useless.

BTW, my last test total cholesterol was 220 which states high as in unhealthy on the report.  In reality Triclyceride (44), HDL (113) and LDL (99) are so good they are almost unbelievable.  I've had blood work done 20-30 times the last 15 years and rarely(possibly never) did the doctor  add any value and on many occasions provided bad information.  Doctors have saved my life twice but in most non- life  threatening situations I have found that I'm better at evaluating my health.

    Total cholesterol is just maths:-

    HDL + LDL + 20% triglycerides = total cholesterol

You need to fill in all fields marked with a red asterisk(indicating mandatory field) as a minimum

Did that. I have previously completed online at a former address.

I gave up and got the resort manager to submit online on behalf of the resort.

He was at Immigration yesterday and said that he was told that resort residents (ie me) need to take a copy of the TM30 filing to Immigration so that they can get a proper TM30 receipt....

I pass that on without further comment.

I did my first and only in-person 90-day report at "CBI" Jomtien at the start of September and all you had to do then was hand over your passport, take a number, and sit and wait amongst the great unwashed for a bit.

They even had free water, albeit unchilled, in their cute little CBI branded plastic bottles.

So yeah, having to go from "easy as" to the new rigmarole is understandably frustrating for the Pattaya types.

Obviously I'll be using the agent that handled my visa/extension from now on.

    Presumably they charge 500 baht?

When I went to the appointment for the passport I was told I would get the new passport in 8 days and the old one would follow 10 to 14 days later. That was a bit of a surprise and had that materialised would have gone beyond my flight back. I wasn't keen on changing the flight so when I received the new passport I applied for a visa. The old passport came back the day after I got the visa.

I then had a choice and as my extension was due to be renewed shortly after returning I decided to return on the visa.

    Thank you for explaining.

I understand, I thought that there must have been something unusual for you to do that.

    Presumably a Non-Imm 'O' single entry visa ?

I haven't done a TM30 since 2015 and getting an extension has never been a problem in that respect.

I couple of weeks ago I went to the UK to renew my passport and although I had a re-entry permit decided to come back on a new visa.  I suspect this time with new passport and visa the issue will arise when the extension comes around.

However, I am not going to waste the best part of a day and around 500 baht for fuel on the basis of caution.

I don't quite understand why/how you obtained a new visa if you had a reentry permit.

I am sure you have your reasons - but they are not obvious to me.

Here you go again, assuming I have no money.

Did you really only find out about BTC in 2020? I find that hard to believe.

Sounds like someone has sour grapes about missing the early boat.

Yes degree from Aberdeen Uni, and MA from Napier University, you'll know John Napier for discovering Logarithms.

Jeez, all those qualifications and you spend all your time on a Thai internet forum!

Over qualified for ASEAN NOW ...... who would have believed it.

IQ in Thailand is lower than average because the education system does not encourage independent thought.

OTOH, Thais are among the most social people on the planet. IMO they would compare favorably with us in terms of emotional intelligence.

Smartphones must have been like manna from heaven for them.

You think smartphones have made them more sociable...................really?

Alcohol is the main thing that makes them sociable - and their great sense of 'sanook'.  Put a group of Thais together with alcohol, food and music and you will see a good time.

Did you p!55 yourself when you typed that?

Perhaps she doesn't need a calculator to work out that there is 27 Baht change from 100 Baht if something costs 73 Baht.

My partner worked in a bar and can work out what treble 18 is as soon as the dart hits the board.

That's what I thought too. Looks like I have been sold a dud by one of Lazada's dud sellers.

Nothing to do with Lazada - they are just the sales platform.

As for the seller, he has a 95% rating.

There is a returns process if you don't want to write off the 117 Baht. 🙂

Out of interest what did you pair the device with?

The top switch + - does not move at all, the bottom switch changes between red and blue when switched on. and stays like that for a little while when charging.

I have a red light until charged, then blue. As I said, if I nudge the bottom button up  it says "pairing" and pairs with my nearby phone.

I have never used the +/- buttons, I assume they are volume control.

i bought this from Lazada, cannot get it to work, no instructions. the + - button will not move. The other button just alternates between red and blue when you switch it on, and yes, I have tried to charge it, but it makes no difference.

    Mine is working fine.

After charging I get a green light and I move the on/off switch, at the bottom, up .

Then it says "pairing" and pairs with my nearby phone.
