I guess it's about the money.

Do Beatle fans, who heard probably over hundred different songs from them, really need an AI version from another song?

Would a real fan be even interested is such thing?

I think it sounds like the newest StarWars movies. They still have the same name but few people who enjoyed the original are interested in the new movies.

    I was/am a fan.

I enjoyed the new song, in a light sort of way.. I also enjoyed the film Yesterday.

Ah you mean I will be banned, as we can't post any negative comments? Oh dear, so this is still the "Nation" and Yellow Shirty Mods running things, is it? Right, well let me know.

No....you need to lose the chip on your shoulder.

    ....and your paranoia.

You seem to know a lot about yellow shirty things for someone who has only been around for 17 posts..................................or have you?  😀

I did it all myself with qualifying 800k deposits for many years. I gave up jumping through shifting hoops and started using a well-recommended agent a few years ago. I couldn't be more pleased with the service.  It cost less than 2% of the 800k in fees, which I recover in interest by leaving the money in my investment account in my home country.

    I do even better.

I keep the 800k and earn a return on that; I also show monthly income to satisfy Immigration on the extension application - and I don't pay 16,000 Baht to an agent.

This is open to interpretation. For a first extension the money must be in the bank for two months prior to the application. For subsequent applications based on money in the bank, there must be 800,000 baht in the bank for three months after the last extension was given and for two months before the new extension, with 400,000 baht in the bank for the rest of the year.

The rules when changing between income and money in the bank are not clearly described. What I think is logical is either:

    (i) Income for the first part of the year; changing to money in the bank when the 400k/800k requirements are met; or

(ii) 800k/400k/800k covering the full year.

In any case, income/money in the bank for the entire duration of the previous extended stay is clearly the intended qualification for a further extension.

To satisfy Jomtien you have to evidence 12 x 65k transfers because that was the basis of approval of your LAST extension. For the new application the 2 month seasoning rule would additionally apply.

I would be inclined to ask the local office (preferably a different I/O) if that would be appropriate in your case, for that office.

Apologies, I have also since read what you quote.

I definitely saw 3 months mentioned somewhere. -  possibly re Non-Immigrant O visas

I knew I has seen 3 months quoted somewhere - the Thai embassy London website:-

You are recommended to apply for a visa at least 4-8 weeks before the travel date but do not submit your application more than 3 months before your departure date.

    I'm never bored.

Bought a house near the beach, live there with my family.

If I have time I jump on my PCX and cruise up and down the beach, always plenty of tidy chicks to look at, just got to not get too distracted and keep an eye on the traffic and pedestrians

I think that you have just described bored..................or boring.

I may well have been sat with some of those tidy chicks (which is definitely not boring) when they have commented "look at that old bored tw4t, he just rides up and down all day on his wife's scooter".

At least get a decent bike, like a Forza, you will look less unimpressive 🙂

His Imm Officer told him that he would need - on top of the ongoing 65K payments - to provide evidence of 12 months 'funds in bank' for making the switch.  He could of course seek confirmation from the Manager of the Imm Office what is required at his local Imm Office for such switch.

I would.... that doesn't sound at all right to me.

I wonder, will they accept a Wise bank statement and Thai bank statement showing transfers in excess of 40k a month for the last 12 months?

It is a good question  -  and we won't know until it has been tried.

Personally, for the issue of a visa, I would have thought that they would want to see money in a bank account............................

Yes, the Re-Entry Permit will protect your last Wednesday renewed 1-year Permission to Stay, and so it would require cancelling that Re-Entry Permit before exiting and re-entering Thailand.

Also, and that would be mighty unfortunate, you could already be 'too late' to meet the requirement for showing +800K during the last 12 months for next year's application.  Unless your new Permission to Stay date is mid November or later, and you have the +800K funds transferred from abroad and arriving on your bank-account such that you can show that the funds are there already 12 months when applying for your next 1-year extension. .

Surely he only has to evidence 800k for 2 months (for the extension being applied for)...the ongoing 65k payments need to be made to satisfy the curr ent terms of approval.

That is what I did when I switched.

I wouldn't believe it tbh. There was a guy on another thread just like this one who got his ME non-o without any financials or problems 2 weeks ago. These 'new' requirements are not listed on the website either.

You would be unwise to take your skepticism too far....................these 'new' requirements ARE there - a friend just encountered them.

    Up to you.

  11. The general rule (and certainly applicable for Jomtien) is that next year the first thing they will check for is that you have complied with THIS YEAR's terms of approval ie you must make 12 x 65k payments as normal.

Also you must season the 800k for 2 months before your application based on funds in the bank.

Does Savanaket still issue 1 year multi entry non O visa? What documents are required?I have the thought they won't issue 1 years visa anymore and that is worldwide. They want you to get an extension of stay at immigration and to get an extension you need to show money in a thai bank or monthly payments from oversea. If you have money in the bank or payments it is easy for them to tax it.I was gonna stop to transfer money to Thailand after December 2023 and get a 1 year visa instead of an extension. If this loophole is closed it will get difficult to avoid tax payments in Thailand. If your home country has a double taxation treaty with Thailand you will have to try to get your taxes back .Just a thought

Look at the forum..... and don't confuse the issue with bu11sh!t about non-existent tax.

Bad news they have rejected my application  saying my passport has less than 6 months which is a lie it has 7 month and 18 days ,, im furious   and I have just been ripped  off for £60

What the hell am I supposed to do now

Jay Clay is correct in inferring that you need 6 months validity on your passport at the time of entry.

There are senior contributors on here who will tell you that Thailand does not require 6 months validity.....I think that you have just proved that they do.
