    Guys,

I received one year non-immigrant O visa today. Please look at my previous post in this thread for financial proof details I have submitted.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will respond.

    Cheers!

Just connecting those details for ease of reading:

Guys, the latest report from Savannakhet:

I submitted the documentation for non-immigrant O visa based on marriage today at 9:15am. I also provided my child's birth certificate and copy of tabian ban as well as KR2 paper and it was taken by the immigration officer.

When I said I would like to apply for one year non-immigrant O visa, she immediately said I needed financial requirements proved. She accepted the copies of my bank book and also had a detailed look at my original bank book.

That was all. The money wasn't seasoned but was transfered to my bank account yesterday.

I think I should receive my visa tomorrow and I not, I will inform you here.

Can you name some that do not please? I wouldn't like to 'give it a go' at my IO, only to find that I was wrong or a new boss has taken over. The 'law' says 3 months after and 2 before.

I am allowed to use the Combination Method i.e Bht 40k per month = Bht 480, plus Bht 400 in the bank totalling Bht 880, with which I am happy. I cannot ask my IO if I can take 50% out of the bank, down to Bht 200k for 7 months, too cheeky.

Next year however, I shall ask if Bht 35k per month = Bht 420k plus my Bht 400k would be enough.

    Buriram

Not every office will allow the combined method.

I don't think that makes me sad at all. But your response makes me a bit sad.

I understand what you are saying or what you said.  but your response was to "Thailand was once LoS = Land of Smiles. Today, under this government , you have to translate it = Land of Stupids.

and even though I don't agree with that statement , from the title I can see how one might mistake the article as the Australian's response to the Thai goverment scheme to tax foreign income, in fact when I initially seen it I thought the same . And if it was it could be posted in the Australian subforum.

    DOH!

It was posted in the Australian sub-forum!

Why an article about the Australian government's reaction to the Thai scheme to  tax foreign income could not be posted in the Australia & Oceania Topics and Events section ?

Jesus!  Dragging up a post from 2 weeks ago.....that makes you sad!

Now go back and read the post that I was replying  -  surely you understood the comment..........................obviously not!

I have lived with my GF near P'lok since 2012. I went several years ago to ask for Yellow Book / Pink Card but was told that we MUST be married. Went again three months ago, same Amphur man who said the same, but when I pulled him and showed some legislation which says marriage is not necessary, he relented and after 4 visits and one from our village head man, it was issued. Obviously Passport, TM30, Visa & Retirement Extension are needed, and GF's ID, house book. Free of charge in the end.

I faced the same barriers in Buriram.

I didn't bother to pursue it as I considered a pink card to be a 'nice to have' rather than something of major practical benefit. 8 years on and I still haven't had any need for it.

    Replying to Dirk Z

I am pretty certain that you can not apply for a e visa in advance of 60 days before the trip will commence. If the arrival date is more than 60 days away this would explain the message that your application will be 're-considered again within 60 days from your arrival date'.

    I hope these comments help.

You can apply 3 months before your travel date.

There was a time when if your documents were in and checked by 11.00 you would be told to come back after 14.00 for your passport. I would have thought that after acceptance and checking all it needs is the boss's signature and the passport stamped. I think you have to collect it personally and they take your photo. Ah well.

They take your photo at the outset; you just return with your numbered card.

What do you mean with that? I have been happily married for over 10 years. Please explain, as you just take some words out of nowhere and point them at me. You do not know what class we belong to. Everyone is not a monger and marry the first whore they see. You do not know what layer of society we belong to, and what people we associate with. Do you?

    You protesteth too much.

Anyone with class would not need to do that.

Several scientific studies have shown that alcohol – small amounts, unfortunately...😳 – are healthy, so vodka should also be Okay, and of course clean.

According to Belarus' president Alexander Lukashenko, vodka is extremely healthy and even cures Covid-19 – you can read more HERE – so I'm fairly convinced that you made an excellent choice by shifting from beer to vodka...

True...............and the police are less likely to smell it on his breath.

If I understand the question correctly.

    There must be some misunderstanding,

As far as I know, you only need to report every 90 days.

I am here on an extension to stay based on marriage. I am leaving the country a couple of weeks before I need to do my 90 day reporting. Wife called IO and asked if I needed to do my 90 day a bit earlier since I  was leaving before the required day, she was told that since I was not here for 90 days after my last report, I did not have to do a 90 day reporting and when I came back the count would reset to zero and I would need to wait 90 days to do my reporting .

    Is it different for retirement?

this is not about 90 day reporting.

It is about having a current TM30 dated after your last entry in to Thailand.

  12. 23 minutes ago, Gottfrid said:

Yes, the rules were very clear. If you travel inside Thailand and return to the same address, you do not have to do anything. If you travel abroad and return, you will have to announce your return to your immigration office, even if it is the same address.

    Wrong...as others have said.

Copy the attached for your reference and education.

It is a relevant post to this thread because many people do not much care whether they go to Sav or HCMC.  Their objective is to get the visa they want.

I didn't say it wasn't relevant. It is indeed useful information.

Just not relevant to my post which was specifically referring to Savannakhet.

In that case, your confirmation that seasoning is not required is useful information, but we would welcome knowing your source for this comforting reassurance. Based on the general attitude at that consulate, I would not be surprised if you are correct, but have not seen anything that would make me dogmatic.

I would have read it on ASEAN NOW........😉

I also (rightly or wrongly) assumed that it would be the same as an in country conversation from visa exempt - you just need to evidence funds ?

It sounds like the above might be academic anyway as far as Savannakhet is concerned. If they are ONLY issuing single entry visas then no financial evidence is required anyway.

TM 30 reporting, even for short trips:

    https://www.thaiembassy.com/thailand-visa/about-tm30-thailand

also stipulates that a foreigner residing in Thailand should notify the police station if he/she visits another province for more than 24 hours from the time of arrival. This would mean that a short weekend trip from Bangkok to Phuket would cause more red tape, even when you have already done all the basic TM30 reporting."

When hotel failed to report I was asked to pay 1600 THB but was able to talk out of it... They don't go after Thais.

"Officially and practically, the responsibility to report the stay of a foreigner rests with the host: the landlord of a property, the hotel or the service apartment. Delayed or late reporting of a foreigner can be penalized with 800 THB to 1,600 THB per person (normally the penalty does not exceed that amount, even if your landlord reports months too late)."

That website link is not to an 'official' site. It has been called out on errors many times in the past.

I assume that you are not aware that regulation was repealed in 2020.
