let's assume it will take 10 years and as part of their random choice they pick you do see how your tax situation is and they present you with the bill for taxes which in their opinion you had not paid for the last 10 year. you might be in a proper frenzy. even worse when they tell you that they freeze your assets because they don't agree with your assessment that you are part of the 99.9% who should not pay tax.  It will be nice to live a happy life for 10 years and be deluded that this has nothing to do with you. however, the day of reckoning will come. I have heard and seen it before in so called developed countries and i have no doubt it will end in the similar tears here.

Nope...... I am still not scared.

I am a UK Passport holder. so does that mean I automatically get 30 days upon arrival in Suvarnabhumi.
Would it be the same if I arrive (internationally) to Don Muang or Phuket?

PS: So I guess this article is incorrect:
    https://www.handyvisas.com/news/thailand-to-keep-45-day-visa-free-stays-until-the-end-of-2023/

    Correct.

30 days on entry at any of those arrival points.

As far as I am aware the 45 days has reverted to 30 days. You can extend that stay for 1,900 Baht at your local immigration office - do it in the second half of your stay.

I don’t doubt the prices you’ve encountered but my wife and currently staying in the UK opposite a Harry Ramsdens who are selling take away fish and chips for £7.99, the town centre mall parking starts at £1.20 with the out of town malls offering free parking.

The local supermarkets are far cheaper than I feared, wine is considerably cheaper than Thailand, I’ve just brought six bottles of Prosecco in Sainsbury’s for £5.65 a bottle, the same brand cost me 900 Baht in Villa.

I’m sure that the cost of living crises is affecting many but the M&S food section near where we’re staying is always busy and has some very good deals, a steak dinner for two at £12, and very tasty.

We’re currently staying in a two bedroom Airbnb on the south coast for the equivalent of £30 a night, based on a monthly rent, and very warm and comfortable it is too.

We’re not renting a car and are travelling anywhere locally, including to nearby towns with fares capped at £2.

We’re travelling from the South Coast to London by train shortly using advance tickets at £15.80 for the two of us, though the Premier Inn in Leicester Square has cost us £260 for a one night stay.

As I say, l don’t doubt the examples you quote but it’s certainly not all doom and gloom here and I’m struggling to convince my wife that after numerous visits here during our sixteen years together we’d be better of in Thailand.

Going to supermarkets (and buying decent wine for a fraction of average plonk here) is one of the highlights of my UK visits. Razor blades and shaving foam are also favourite purchases. Ironic that you can often buy Singha beer cheaper in a UK supermarket than you can in a bar over here.

Jesus, 800 baht almost for a takeaway fish n' chips in the UK?

It's less than half the price for a 'sit in' cod n' chips in an English pub in Bangkok.

Never had decent fish and chips in those overpriced Bangkok pubs.

Sit down fish and chips (proper) with mushy peas and a cup of tea £8.99 in the Lake District.

  5. Which Immigration office is he with?

He needs to understand that he needs to show 12x monthly transfers of 65,000 Baht. Depending on which office he reports to bank statements and a bank letter may not be enough.

In my case with Kasikorn bank, and Jomtien Immigration, I had to get a special certificate from Kasikorn's office in Pattaya Klang. I had already highlighted each monthly transfer on the 12 month's bank statements - and supplied the corresponding 12 WISE pdf's for each transfer.

He is 100% not asking about flight.

The OP is foolish to plan international travel and have a border line expiry date on pp.

As I posted earlier Thailand immigration does not impose the 6 month validity rule however airlines do.

Also many nearby countries immigration do have that requirement.

He is flying on the 29th October.

He is asking about falsifying check in information.

That's the case, but Air Asia might still have it in their terms of carriage. Requiring 6 months passport validity throughout their network is much easier to enforce.

A related question is where you plan to fly FROM. Are you sure that this other country doesn't require you to have a passport that is still valid for 6 months?

Until the OP comes back and answers that question, that I posed, we don't even know he is flying from another country; it could be a domestic flight in which case a passport may not be required.

FWIW the TM30 rules have not changed, like you said only need a new one when coming in country on a new visa or moving home permanently. That said the online version on TM30 submissions changed last month so anyone who used the old one needs to do it all again on the new one as the previous data has been wiped off for reasons best known to those with something to do with immigration.

That is not what the rule says..

    Thanks city hall 😎

The same engineer should be forced ride a 10 year old PCX from Pattaya Klang, along Sukhumvit, to Thepprasit Road and see if HE can avoid the drain covers.

    That's funny!

Anyway the youtube channel Integrity Legal is still saying this rule change is for real.

That a TM30 receipt in your passport is needed for any and all immigration services including extensions and that TM30 must dated AFTER your last entry into Thailand.

I had a relevant recent experience with this.

I'm a condo owner that lives in my condo.

I had NEVER filed a TM30 myself and was never asked for one over many many years living here.

So I got this news and as I have an extension coming up, I freaked out.

So I went in to Jomtien and did file for my first time. I expected there to be a fine. Daresay I probably deserved it. But happily no fine.

So I asked the obvious questions?

Do I need to file a new TM30 if I stay at a hotel in Thailand? As expected, no.

Do I need to file a new TM30 if I leave and reenter Thailand? Surprisingly no. But pay attention -- ONLY because I was an owner occupant of my home.

But keep in mind this was at the TM30 desk.

Maybe they don't know about changes yet for sure or don't care because it's not their desk.

Maybe the desks where you actually do other than TM30 services WILL start following the rule.

I don't know. I doubt anyone here does either.

So wait and see and see how this shakes out from future reports.

    Thanks.

I didn't pick up the same message from the Integrity Legal You Tube video .... am I watching the right video?

Sorry....I didn't have time to add any commentary. You will have seen that these are 'bone conduction' and the speaker sits just outside the ear.

I haven't had chance to make great use of mine yet, but they seem effective - and comfortable.
