  1. He said he was on volunteer visa. *EDIT* Oh...he's now on covid extension, but paid an agent 8000THB to circumvent the restriction on his volunteer visa. So I don't know if that has "freed" him from having to use that same agent ???
  2. Once the OP enlisted the services of an agent to extend their stay in Thailand, no immigration office will touch any future transactions with that passport. Everything will now have to always go through that agent.
  3. You were wise to have done so. I suspect that EXO would have handled you as far as getting into Laos...but once your tour was done and you needed to make your next moves in departing Laos (back to Thailand or elsewhere), you would have been on your own to sort it all out.
  4. We are all on borrowed time....so make sure you've done most of your (definition of) living before the earth reclaims you. ????
  5. Hospitels salivate at the prospect of positive cases. They are raking in the dough.
  6. It would not have mattered where you went, KP or otherwise. Your Non-Immigrant visa disqualified you from a covid extension. You have effectively circumvented that with an agent *cough* bribe...but I suspect you will end up paying more again come 14/4 as you now have no other options, and you cannot apply for extensions anywhere else in the country now except for KP.
  7. High hospitalization rates also? Or just high numbers of positive cases?
  8. Only other solution would be go to another province, check into a hotel for a night to get a TM30 update, then apply for an extension. If they said OK on 4/2...why didn't you opt to apply that day?
  9. For most, mid-range is the best. If you buy "expensive" phone, get previous year's version. You will save a lot and have 95% of the same features as the current year.
  10. 1. Yes 2. Yes, and the same forms as last time. You would need your Samui hotel to register TM30 for you. 3. Yes, but you would need to get your Koh Phangan hotel to register TM30 for you.
  11. Don't mix the two. Cambodia Visa can be done online here: https://www.evisa.gov.kh/ NON-O marry visa, you need to go to the Thai Consulate Phnom Penh. https://phnompenh.thaiembassy.org/en/page/cate-7962-visa-to-thailand?menu=5d73b14415e39c46f40076a2
  12. Yes, Cambodia needs a visa, and negative covid test, etc. You can get the visa online. Covid insurance not required, but recommended, as hospitals may be expensive. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/cambodia/entry-requirements
  13. Anyone else agree that's about as clear as the muddy sewage polluting the chao praya river?
  14. This concern is also why I asked. I think both you and I were given the intimidation line, "If I see you here in March you will only be given 7 days !!" by that Dragon Lady at the far-right desk. ????
  15. Could IO deny anyone this extension based on their own discretion (e.g. you have been here too much, you don't have exit flight, your country is not locked down, your reason to stay is not good enough, etc.)?
  16. Agree. I feel like this new change is the beginning of the phasing out of the covid extensions. Step 1: Get everyone off of them who is not either TR or VisaExempt. Step 2: Get EVERYONE off of them (when pandemic is practically ended and borders open, whenever they judge that is). Step 3: Try to get back to business as usual (or...the new usual).
  17. IMHO, I believe this change was not intended to burden legit Non-Immig visa holders who are the unfortunate collateral damage of the order. It seems to me that this change is to flush out all the dodgy Non-Immig ED and Volunteer visas that were issued in the past two years who are now riding the covid extensions.
  18. What about all the Grab, Foodpanda, Robinhood drivers....they are always using their phone while driving.
