  4. Same. I never complain or ask unnecessary questions. I never offer more information than what is asked, and even then I am as vague in details as I can reasonably be. So far it has served me well.
  5. The Ministry of Health on Wednesday said foreigners entering Vietnam ONLY need to be tested negative for Covid-19 and DO NOT need to enter any kind of quarantine. All the restrictions provided for under the Official Dispatch No. 10688/BMT-MT dated December 16, 2021 of the Ministry of Health are removed. Accordingly, the following regulations will be applied: Regarding Covid test: For air passengers: The travelers are REQUIRED to have Negative Covid test result using the RT-PCR/ RT-LAMP method within 72 hours before departure, or 24 hours via rapid antigen tests (except for children under 2 years old). For others: Those who cannot take a test before arrival as mentioned above will have to be tested within 24 hours of entry. If it is negative, they can leave their accommodation facility. In case it is positive, they shall immediately notify the local authorities for prompt instructions. Children under 2 years old are not required to take any Covid test, and can join Vietnam tours with parents and relatives. For health declaration and quarantine upon arrival in Vietnam The entrants are REQUIRED to Make medical declarations and use the PC-Covid application during their stay in Vietnam. Immediately notify the healthcare body at the arrival port in case of having any Covid symptoms, including fever; cough; sore throat; runny nose; blocked nose; body aches, fatigue; decreased or lost taste; decreased or lost sense of smell; headache; diarrhea; shortness of breath; etc. For health monitoring and following Covid prevention and control measures During the first 10 days, all arrivals arena required to monitor their health and notify to medical staff if they show symptoms of Covid; wear mask, clean hands with hand sanitizer. Those who don’t have negative test certificate before departure for Vietnam are REQUIRED to limit stops and contact with others on the way from the border gate to accommodation in Vietnam. (Hopefully there will be updates about this in the near future). 1. VISA’s – How to obtain a Visa: • Visa on Arrival - All Visa types available (A, B, C, E, T, K). Select the Visa type you require when filling out the Immigration Card, pay fee at VOA counter upon arrival, receive Visa, proceed to passport control • Visa in Advance - All Visa types available (A, B, C, E, T, K). Apply for the Visa type you require in advance from the Cambodian Embassy/Consulate accredited to the country you are in. Be advised that supporting documentation criteria requirements apply. • e-Visa (T-type) - Tourists can also apply for the e-Visa (electronic online Tourist Visa) at www.evisa.gov.kh • e-Visa (E-type) Taiwanese passport holders only are eligible to apply for the E-type (Ordinary) Visa online at https://www.evisa.gov.kh/ • Visa Exempt Entry - for ASEAN and other eligible passport holders (refer to Visa exempt entry list in the pictures). 2. Deposit Amount (if no pre booked ASQ hotel) = USD$2000 This does not apply to nationals of Cambodia travelling on a Cambodian passport, or foreign passport with K-type (Special) Visa. This does not apply to passengers with an A-type (Diplomatic) or B-type (Official) Visa. Nationals of Cambodia travelling on a Cambodian passport, or foreign passport with K-type (Special) Visa can quarantine for free at a Government quarantine facility, or opt for hotel quarantine at their own expense. General foreigners quarantine expenses will be deducted from the deposit, or paid directly to the hotel if pre-booked. A (Diplomatic) or B (Official) -type Visa holders can quarantine at an approved residence as arranged by the Embassy or IO, or pre-book their quarantine at one of the ASQ Hotels.   7. The one year is still available. I know of someone who got it this week, but they applied at the Vietnamese consulate in San Francisco, California.
  8. Cambodia announced it will be opening land borders. But there is no indication that Thailand will reciprocate. If they do, Cambodia will be easier than Vietnam.
  9. The problem is that there are so many zebra crossings that are situated at blind turns. The driver cannot see that someone has just left the kerb and entered the crossing. Not an excuse for the driver, but still....poor planning of the crossings.

CAMBODIA VERY SOON... *Land borders will open, No pre-test, No arrival test* This is the notification from ministry of health to inform that upon receiving the note from PM, the inter-ministerial committee of covid-19 decides 1. cancel the requirement from the travelers for certificate of negative result of Covid-19 PCR test within 72 hours before arrival to Cambodia. 2. cancel the requirement for rapid test upon the arrival. 3. allow to reopen the visa service on arrival for international travelers by airs, land and sea. Even though point 1 and 2 are cancelled, travelers are advised to take the rapid test by themselves and must present the covid-19 vaccination card.   14. Is Malaysia now open? I heard it was proposed, but not yet. If it is indeed open, that's excellent news! For sure Cambodia, Singapore and Philippines are open with no quarantine for fully vaxed people. Of the three, only Philippines has no test-on-arrival policy.
  15. I see all countries like the board game of monopoly. Most spaces you land on, there's something to pay. Some more than others. And just like the board game, very few "free spaces"...and some you land on and get hit with surprise charges.

  17. As long as it's on credit. If they access debit via UnionPay and they don't have much cash, it's a problem still. Russian cash value has tanked, losing 40% of its purchasing power in past 2 weeks.
