No. You are saying that.
Just watch the Chinese leave from one of the airports heading back to China.
Huge bags, boxes and suitcases packed with Chinese "goodies" freshly imported by Thai traders from China.
I asked a Chinese once why he dragged all this Chinese stuff back to China........"We can't buy in China or it is very expensive!"
Huhh?

Great, another supermarket within close range of another supermarket.
They could have considered to rent the empty space in the Avenue; easy access and free parking

If you're used to the bars and bar-complexes in the Sois off Beach Road.....they will disappear over the years to come.
The entire "Happy Zone" in between South Pattaya Road, North Pattaya Road, 2nd Road and the Beach will gradually move to the direction of Soi Bhuakow where the "New Happy Zone" will be created in between South Pattaya Road, Central Pattaya Road, 2nd Road and 3rd Road.
And in 20 years the "Dark Side" will shine as never before.........
Ok....back to sleep!!

I've used "Curtain Thepprasite" recently.
They're located along Thepprasit road opposite Soi 8 (big white hanky-panky sign with in red "Curtain Thepprasit")
Tel. 038-300702 - 038-300703 - 081-3400519
The lady in charge speaks reasonable English
Example of my little project:
width: 4.20m
height: 2.44m
curtains with 80% built in sun-block
rails (if you have rails installed, you may deduct approx. THB 1,200)
installation
I paid THB 5,700.

I recently bought an AIS Mobile hotspot at the AIS shop @the basement of Central Pattaya Beach.
It's 4G compatible and fed by a dat-SIM-card.
The device cost THB 1,990 including a data-sim with 2Gb 4G data transfer.
I used it as a back-up connection in a rental and according to the guests it worked fine.
Only down-side......if you like to download movies, music or like to watch streaming vids, you'll run out of gigabits in no time and you will be 'downgraded' to 128kbps.

Revoke the bus-companies' license.......they'll pay within 24 hours........unless the company is owned by some hillbilly government official.
Demanding the driver to pay up doesn't make sense.......he'll be in debt for life and never able to pay any single satang.

I guess you are talking about an additional MB insurance besides the obligatory MB insurance?
Check out the banks for an additional personal accident insurance; I know that some banks offer it for THB 2,500 per year. This insurance covers only medical expenses.
Upon buying a new bike, there's often the possibility to obtain an insurance that will cover theft or loss of your bike up to 2/3 years. This insurance only covers material expenses.
Finding an insurance eg. 1st class as with cars is either not available or just bloody expensive.

Texxan, a tourist visa or a visa-exempt may indeed be not sufficient prove for your employer.
If you happen to own a property it may be possible to hand them a copy (with a legalized translation) of your house registration or rental contract and accompanied by a residence statement from your embassy.
You stated in your post that you're close to retirement; you could consider a retirement visa with a multiple re-entry permit.
That will at least show that you are allowed to reside in Thailand legally.

Another thing of ignorance: you have a problem in your home; a contractors comes along and starts to solve your problem.
After they've left you'll notice that they've created at least 2 other problems.
On vary rare occasians contractors clean the place and leave it spotless and without causing other problems.

Plenty of key-guys around, but the tiny electrical part is the key of the key
Just start at one of the key-people at the entrances of the supermarkets.
AFAIK those kind of keys are so expensive at the dealers because they order them at the importer or factory.
I know that a spare key of a standard Toyota can cost up to THB 800 while a spare key of an imported Toyota Celica will cost around THB 8,000

I've been suffering from similar problems and it started a few months ago after some electrical fires on Sukhumvit Road (3 fires in 4 weeks time).
After that started my True internet connection was a complete drama.
Daily phone calls, several visits from technicians, 2 exchanges of router, line-checks, connector renewals.....BUT finally they managed to get me back online without major interruptions.
Just be patient, phone 1686 as soon as your internet is disrupted, use the True Online Speedtest and store results with screen-shots.
Stay friendly to the call-center people (they can't do anything anyway).
At some point I got befriended with True Online on Facebook and started to post speedtest-results there.........that speeded things up and they even started using messenger.
Unfortunately, switching to another provider doesn't give any guarantee of a better connection; you know that and most importantly: True knows that as well.

I blame Thai ignorance.....ignorance to look over the shoulder when entering somewhere to check if someone is right behind you; ignorance of using every cm2 of tarmac without caring motorbike that could ealily pass in the bloody heat; ignorance and being blind to any kind of consequence of actions made.....
Is it done on purpose? Mostly not. It has nothing to do with actions against people or a person, they aren't even aware of other people being around.

So far Pattaya's Happy Zone project
-
There are several garbage-dumps on the dark side...Chaiyapruk, Hua Yai and others.
Garbage is used as landfill and as soon as the land is filled the dump moves to a new place.
-
So the Walking Street will be a Happy Zone without weapons, without below 20-ies, without drugs and without violence.
What about the rest of the 'happy zones' in Pattaya?
Typical Thai: Solve one problem on a small scale and create huge problems around it.

There's a lot of different kinds of screen protectors.
The 790 baht one was most probably the "gorilla" kind; rock hard and really protecting against scratching objects like keys or stones. Even a hammer couldn't cause any damage (didn't try that one though).
The 200 baht one was probably the cheapest kind, more like the cooking-foil plastic and not really protecting.
As what Jingthing is suggesting: Head for Central Pattaya Beach, find a protector and let it be installed for 50 baht.

What a shame about the nurse. Why can't more scumbags die from these kinds of accidents? I guess because they'll never put themselves in harm's way to help others.
Of course it's a shame for the nurse, but........I've learned that whenever I'm planning to participate in some kind of rescue operation I have to take care that the circumstances are safe for me to start with.
It may have appeared to the nurse that this was the case regarding the initial wounded person being close to road barriers, but nevertheless........

I used to use Hippopotamus @Central Pattaya Beach quite a lot until thet changed the menu overnight leaving the most popular dishes out.
It seems that they changed back to the old more favorable menu.
Hippopotamus is a French restaurant chain with branches Worldwide.

I just discovered a "public" pool yesterday.
It's in a Soi in between Soi 11 and 12 (entrance right from Now Hotel).
At the end of the Soi you will find Sea Point Hotel on the left and the pool on the right.
It's basic but clean and not a lot of facilities on hand.
I guess it's the communal pool for the Soi or the area.
Parking is available.

It's better than the place upstairs next to the Dtac stand.
Insipid (the latte not Dtac) ?
I think that's exactly the stand the OP is referring to.

There can be a lot of causes: leaking in bathroom on the floor above, inferior grouting in the bathroom, a leak in piping.
I can imagine that the developer/juristic office isn't really interested in investigating/solving the problem; they just don't know where to search.
Following giddyup's advise may be the only right thing.

I was at a local convenience store recently and there was a sign stating: "We accept 25 and 50 satang coins" in Thai and English.
Seems that there is some kind of issue/shortage.

Wait wait.....at the start of the project the estimated date of completion would be somewhere beginning of April 2018.
Then suddenly and as a big surprise in October last year it was announced that completion would be end of February 2017.
Now, a "delay" until Songkran 2017 is expected.
What's the delay?
